  1. That's a bold opinion. Lee's combination of excellent route running, good hands, and after the catch playmaking ability is special. Adams and Matthews are good receivers in their own ways, but I wouldn't put them anywhere near Lee.

Marquis Lee has first round bust written all over him. He looks like a slower version of Mark Clayton to me.

  2. Mike Evans Texas A&M 6'4 220... Big physical wide out great hands.... #3 wideout superstar in the making

Late pick   Jeremy Gallon Michigan .....speed great route runner and can get separation

    This is my guy.

+ add a shifty, quick, (could be undersized, don't care), yet tough slot  guy in the late rounds.

  3. Pitta is a TE, an inside presence. He's a very solid security blanket for Flacco, that can't even be disputed. What I'm talking about is an outside, vertical receiver. Very different, and an odd place to bash Pitta, to be honest.

I hear you. My point is that the team has the qualities that you / we look in a WR in Pitta. However, I think Pitta is not much more than a more athletic version of Kelly Washington.-  A TE that can't block. - A WR that can't outmatch/outrun/overwhelm you. I truly don't see what Pitta does that Marlon Brown can't do besides be Flacco's besty.

I agree with you; I just had to stir the pot. I couldn't resist.

  4. It's simple. We need a Brandon Marshall/Alshon Jeffrey sized guy. Speed isn't my main concern. I feel we need a guy who can go up and high point the ball over defenders. And, most importantly, a guy with good hands to catch the ball. These guys don't grow on trees, but this is what we need.

OT: I thought this was Pitta?? Oh, oh... my bad. Pitta's value is complete OVERRATED.

Sorry, I had to go there.

  5.

Given the evolution and how much tight ends are starting to be used in the slot, starting to wonder if he would pursue being paid like a wide receiver, not a tight end

All I have to say is I'm glad I'm not making these decisions for the Ravens.

Don't fool yourself,  he doesn't have the intangibles to command money like that.

    I don't think it's a hard decision.

  6. 1) Doss is fine as a PR/4th WR and he won't cost nearly as much.

    2) If Jones wants to come back for cheap so be it, but hr is currently making way too much money for his role. You think he will take a significant paycut?

BTW, Torrey Smith has turned out pretty well in case you forgot about him.

    1) Where was Doss? LOL

    2) Do you wish to revisit this comment?

  7. I believe he also said he'd take a discount because he loves it here so much. I could honestly see him getting a 2 year, $4-5M deal to stay. I believe it could happen pretty quickly as well.

This sounds about right. His role is clearly defined here as well. He and the team know wht is expected of him.

  8. I say let Jacoby walk unless he signs for about vet minimum or $1mil for at most 2 years. He'll be moving out of his prime and his speed (which is the main component of his game) will decline. The Ravens can draft another speedster in the 2nd or 3rd rounds to complement Torrey, and Marlon can develop into a the possession receiver/Red-zone threat we desperately need. Add Pitta, and our receiving core is

    unreal

So when exactly will Jacoby's speed decline? 2 years after we don't resign him? That's three good football years for another team when we could have kept him. Jacoby is in his prime. You want to keep relatively inexpensive players when they play up to their potential. The Ravens are getting exactly what they expected from JJones.

Keep Jones if you draft a WR, because a drafted WR will be cheaper in general and cheaper as far as the cap hit.

  9. I think we should bring in Kenny Britt next off season. The titans are doing us a huge favor this season by refusing to give him playing time.He only has like 8 catches and 67 yards. That's crazy for someone with his talent.I think he could be had for about a $2.5 - 3.5 mil one year contract which would be a bargain.

2.5 - 3.5 mil for Kenny Britt? That's highway robbery. He isn't enough of an impact player to start for his current team, so why pay that kind of momey for him?

I could see the team kicking his wheels, but I think his time as an effective WR is done. Britt = Manningham

  10. He is should be resigned. Dump Thompson and Doss and you have money to play him. He has a clear role to blow the top off of defenses. He is the best at it on the team because of his speed. He is the best PR AND KR in the league. Why get rid of a player that has a clear role and is the best in the NFL at KR/PR? He commands respect, the the Doss and Thopson don't. Doss and Thompson can be replaced in free agency or draft. He will not be too much.

    What has Thompson done???? Nothing!

What has Doss done besides show that he plays scared? He was benched yesterday for his KR/PR gaffes and inability to catch balls.

A drafted WR is no guarantee. Resign ballers. Besides, you can't knock his age because at 31, he is the fastest player on the team.
