  1. Pretty much the only thing I've seen that almost corroborates the Pats (and their fans') theories is that YouTube video. And even then, it doesn't explain why the Colts balls remained properly inflated since the supposed PSI drop would have put any ball out of the regulated range.

Personally, I think that YouTube video is a crock.

The one where students tested the balls? I question what school that was and out of how many people were the select few that made the video.

    Also!

Since 2007, the Patriots fumble only at a rate of once every 187 offensive snaps. This is literally off the charts. It is a statistical outlier right from a statistics textbook. There is no other team even close to being near to their rate of 187 offensive plays (passes+rushes+sacks) per fumble. The league average is 105 plays/fumble.

The odds of such a statistical distribution were calculated at one in 16,233. That’s a comma, not a decimal. Sixteen thousand two hundred and thirty three to one.

  2. It seems to me that Ravens fans would appreciate what the Seahawks are doing. Playing football the old-fashioned way…winning with hard-nosed defense. Would you rather see Cowboys vs. Patriots in a 48-37 game? I don't get the Hawks Hate. They are a really fun team to watch and any team with defensive swag is helping save the NFL in my book. Go Hawks!

You know, if it weren't for Sherman last year running his mouth, I wouldve enjoyed the Seahawks. This year he's calmed down a bit and that comment on Goodell is golden. The only problem I have now is their fans and Lynch grabbing his junk and being a jerk to the media. However, I do love how their defense plays, it brings me back to the old days of the Ravens and wishing that we could get to that level again. Russell Wilson is a class act too.

That's where we disagree. I don't equate providing high/low/hot/cold balls to the ref with tampering of footballs and deflating air *after* the ref has inspected them.

Lol dude, what they did is the definition of manipulation. Maybe we should give more credit to "Bill Belichick the Science Guy" for finding a scientific way to manipulate the ball to pass inspection and then deflate to Tom's real preference of 10.5 psi. Either way you look at it, it lacks integrity for the game and the Patriots should be charged with deceiving NFL officials if this comes to fruition.

    :point:

It is now looking like the Patriots will face no punishment. There will be new procedures implemented on how the game balls are prepared and handled. No more squeeze from the refs and it feel Ok lets play that has been going on for decades. It's really amazing to find out how many coaches had no idea about what went on with the game balls. The real danger to the integrity of the NFL comes from John Harbaugh and Chuck Pagano for conspiring  to make a fellow coach and team look bad. It just shows you how far people will go to try and paint the Patriots in bad light. The funnest part is that in the end the Patriots are the victim.

PFFT! Go read a rule book.

Chris Mortenson was on ESPN radio Saturday morning and stated (repeatedly) that the Ravens had nothing to do with this...that's all made up. He said that the Colts noticed it in their November game and pre-arranged for the officials to check the balls at half-time. CM has darn good sources so I think you need to believe him. It's time for the Ravens-hate over this to die.

It's also time for the Patriots fans to move along somewhere else.

Im actually flattered that the Patriots fear us this much to try and come up with these theories.

  3. I am not sure about Bill's press conference. He sounded somewhat convincing then reverted back to acting like a jerk with the media. You can't act like that if you are going to take questions, because then you DO look shady. If you are going to have a humble speech, then answer the questions in a humble manner. I am interested in Tom's press conference tomorrow, because Bill did not come out and say he believed Tom was not somehow involved. I thought that was a little strange. I know one thing, this is getting ugly and I hope the Ravens are done with these kinds of firestorms forever!

Not taking Bill's or the Patriot's side, but Belicheat for once went into detail on what he knew then and what he knows now. Was he sincere and honest? I hope so.

But when you lay every possible thing that you knew and then the media asks you redundant questions, I think he gave the appropriate answer to most of the questions.

EDIT: Tom Brady is full of baloney. After listening to both press conferences, I feel like they are hiding something. Multiple times Tom had to cut himself short because he was about to say something he didnt want to share. Especially when he accidentally brought up his agent. He started get a smirk on his face when he said that.

  4. On point 1, i'm saying that it's stupid for the teams to have separate balls in the first place. This is the only sport I have ever heard having such a thing it doesn't happen in rugby or soccer or baseball.

On point 2 I don't disagree with that what i'm saying is it is confusing and didn't benefit anyone regardless of purpose and was unnecessary.

On point 3 10 points wasn't that great of a lead and we weren't playing that well

And on point 4 wouldn't it make sense that throwing a long ball deflated is the optimal use of deflation and not dink and dunks that don't need any?.

Also if the balls are easier to catch then wouldn't that be worse for new englands defense to pick someone off or catch a rebound?

This is the last i'll be commenting on this matter because I hate getting drawn into things like this that are trivial and overused in the media for weeks to come. I wanna enjoy what the seattle and the LOB ar esaying prior to the superbowl and vice versa with new england.

Brunell and Bus discussed this on NFL Live. Brunell said he could easily grip the ball better and could easily get another 10 yards more on passes because he could control the ball more. Bus said while carrying the ball, it would be tucked in to his arm better, making it harder to cause a fumble. Given the conditions of the game, I could see why they would do this, but that is just speculation at this point.

On a couple of shows on ESPN, they showed a close up on a deflated ball compared to regular balls and over inflated balls. You could clearly see the difference of the balls as they held it.

Not sure what you mean for New England's defense as they would be catching Indy's regular inflated balls. They wouldnt be able to adjust air pressure in those.

Why do we care what Richard Sherman thinks about it? Harbs was just giving us PR talk and letting everything unfold privately.

  5. That one Bucs QB from the 2003 SuperBowl said they did it. Also Leinhart said every QB does it except Kurt Warner cause he wears gloves.

    A couple of things.

    1. Because "everyone" does it, doesnt make it right. It is a rule to have it within a certain pressure. The NFL is partly to blame for even allowing this to happen. To fix it, they should be in charge of all the balls from now on.

    2. Do those "other QBs" keep it in the confines of the rules? I think its 12.5 psi to 13.5 psi or something similar to that. The Patriots had it at the 10.5 -11 psi range.

  6. I dunno why you are getting negged for this, but I am faaar from in love with the Trestman hiring as well. I don't hate it, but, well, that may only be because I like Gase even less.

That being said, when you have a great QB and a quality OL, I think we'll be alright regardless of the OC.

It's hard to be excited for a guy a season after your previous coordinator just set offensive franchise records. Im more in hopes that he will be here for more than 1 year.

I think Kyle would have been a better OC but, he would be gone next year anyway. I think there were slim picking this year.

  7. Keep in mind Peyton said the exact samething about Caldwell. Thats the only thing that makes me a bit nervous. But im with you, im liking the idea about signing Gase. Who ever our O.C. will be, i just hope they are Aggressive. I really want them to Throw first to set up the Run, not Vice Versa, i feel that has hurt us in the past imo.

To be fair, at that point Caldwell had zero experience calling plays too.

  8. Do I remember when the ratings-hungry media created a buzzword for the masses to start mindlessly parroting?

    I do.

Do you remember when two time Superbowl champion, Jimmy Johnson, admitted he did the same thing during his Cowboy runs, which he said he picked up from every other NFL team he worked for?

    I do too.

Do you remember when all the geniuses who call the Patriots "cheaters" also put an asterisks next to Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irving?

    Me neither.

"Mommy, they did it too!" is what your post should have said.

Just because other teams have done it in the past, doesn't mean its right.

  9. Sorry but this deflated ball investigation is bogus and you all know I'm not a Patriots or Colts fan. Guess they had deflated balls every time their D allowed Brady and co to score over 40 points a game. You don't score over 40 points a game in all 4 games and say it was deflated balls.

Let's just face facts, Irsay is going to back to the reason Manning has only 1 ring. Refusal to put decent talent around him to win multiple Super Bowls and Luck is not going to outscore Brady in any scenario when the D gives up over 40 points a game, and almost 60 at one point. It's not deflated balls, it's a deflated Colts Defense.

I dont know why everyone likes to bring up, "They still would have won." or "I guess they deflated it in all the colts games." That doesnt matter! As I previously stated, we all know the Patriots would have won anyway, it is a matter of principle.

This shouldnt even be an issue. With the games you provided, you'd think they'd be feeling pretty good about playing the Colts without doing this.

Ill finish with, this isnt even that big of a deal.I think the max fine for this is $25,000? Yeah, we all know the Patriots do cheap things to gain small advantages. Maybe, all teams do it, maybe not. That is speculation, but fact is, the Patriots have been caught multiple times and it's getting old. FAST.
