i'm excited about this signing as any ravens fan, but some writer brought up an intersting point, from this article from Russell street report , why would the pats release the CB? whats the reason ? they couldn't have released him b/c of $3 mill? hmmm........................
How can you get mad at a fellow fan getting excited? I like the excitement, I may not say SB champs, but I do think we have a legitimate chance. It takes luck to win it all in this league and maybe a little cheating if you are a certain organization.
I think being excited for something is much more fun than being "realistic" if it means being a negative nancy. /rant/off topic
Kyle is a great pick up for the team and solidified yet another weakness of our team.
Ozzie is the man!
If every team has that chance, it's still fair, isn't it?
I personally believe it takes away skill. It allows a less skillful player (not saying Brady isnt), to be better than they should. Thus making the game worse because anyone could do it. I don't see why it's so hard for someone to see that the medium should be even across the board. This breeds competition.
It's still a stupid rule... I mean... it's your team's ball. Why can't you inflate it to your liking? To me, that's over-officiating. Who cares about how many PSI are in a football? Let the players play.
Not saying don't punish them. Just saying the rule is dumb.
I agree its a stupid rule, the NFL should only allow 1 mandatory degree of pressure, dont let other teams "fix" the ball the way they like it. Every ball is supplied by the NFL. Basically, take away the rule that T*m purposely took advantage of.
If they did that, this wouldnt have happened.
Brady should've gotten at least 8 games, IMO.... The Pats are repeat offenders! I don't think that was accounted for so it could've been a lot worse for them. They didn't exactly get off easy but I have a feeling if another franchise did this, the penalty would be the same or even worst.
I think the 1 mil fine and the loss of draft picks are for repeat offenses.
Wait a minute, by what you said he'll be out weeks 2 - 5?
The Patriots have a bye in week 4 and they play the Colts in week 6.
Week 1- *
Week 2- *
Week 3- *
Week 4- BYE
Week 5- *
Week 6- @Colts
* denotes suspended games, I felt like * was a good symbol to use.
Can he practice with the team during the season while suspended?
Also, he returns week 6... at the Colts....
I wonder if that was a factor /sarcasm
I'm on my phone and hope that link works, but Brady answers a few questions about Deflategate at Salem State University.
It is absolutely terrific watching him squirm and dodge questions. At one point, I thought he was crying.
So this is where we have to come to talk about Deflate Gate. All those posts from so many Ravens fans about Deflate Gate were removed, How come we have to do it this way? Why not post a story about Deflate Gate on the main Ravens page and let us comment on it, after all it is all over the sports news and it is big news. The Pats are the only NFL team posting about Deflate Gate on their main page. is there some kind of NFL mandate quietly telling teams not to post Deflate Gate on their main page? Oh well, whatever. I hope to see Goodell hand a very severe punishment to #12 and the organization with at least 4 or more games suspension, losing a draft pick or two and heavy fines. Anything less than that would be a slap on the wrist.
I mean aren't the Patriots another NFL team? This topic is about them. So it should fit appropriately in the other teams forum. It's been here for over 3 months. I don't see the problem.
Thanks for everything Ed!
"I've Got Two Tickets to Paradiiisseee!!!"
What's funny about those texts about the Jets game and the 16psi is that Tom Brady CAN tell the difference in ball pressure. Something he denied in his presser on the issue.
What kills me is the majority of the media is reacting to this like random Facebook posters. They are reacting off the headlines and not the report itself.
As you guys have eluded to, the report shows that this has been happening for awhile, Brady was giving these guys merchandise, he lied, the lawyers thought he lied.
Though, at this point I don't really expect more from the media and their golden boy Brady.
I think ESPN showed an infographic that said that over 80% of Maxx's receptions were for either first downs or touch downs.
Has anyone found out who we might be signing?
According to that conference, it was someone on the roster last year so Im not expecting a big signing, just curious.
I was thinking maybe Cason.
Cecil Shorts III to the Texans
I have mixed feelings on this one. I need to see the contract details. How much did we give him and what's the guaranteed? First we don't give Will Hill a high tender and now we uncharacteristically sign a free agent to a long term deal, a player who wasn't cut. This isn't a typical Ravens signing.
It makes me wonder our future plans for guys like Hill, Brooks and Elam. Not that I mind us signing a safety. It was our biggest weakness.
We have already had 5 people signed by other teams, so that put us over the limit for comp picks, which is 4.
Sorry if this was already said, I was just perusing the thread trying to catch up.
I think it fits right in with what we do.
Ozzie is doing what he said he would do, he said he was going to start making the secondary a non issue like he did with the Oline. He signed an under the radar player instead of a big name, and he his from the Texans... Sounds like Oz to me ![]()
Another FS about to hit the market...
Dashon Goldson
Ravens looking to sign a TE from within in the division, Cameron or Gresham.
I dont normally ask for a source, but seeing as you are new, I dont know if you are serious or not.
so...
source?

Brandon Browner is in New Orleans for a visit. Washington, Baltimore, Cleveland, Jacksonville also interested.
Would be nice, if we could land him.
Didnt Browner have the most pass interference or defensive holding calls in the league? If not he was up there.
no no no no
No to Thomas. Come on there must be a decent RB out there
If we cut him our secondary is completely bare. It's Jimmy Smith and.........
Im not saying he is the best out there. However, with his experience in a ZBS scheme, cap friendly deal, and not going against comp picks, it makes sense.
Think we might be able to sign Jordan Cameron on a cap friendly deal?
What do you guys think about Deanglo Williams
No thanks. Id take Thomas over him.
It seems like we have a small chance of resigning Jimmy Smith next year
Need to start hammering out an extension for him ASAP before he has the chance to test the market.
I think if the Ravens are trying to put the best possible 53 together for the immediate future, consider him. If they are trying to continue to build a great nucleus for years to come, like Dom said, get a young stud.
Every single one except for the one time the Eagles beat them for it when they went on a free agent spending spree.
This is going to make those clamoring for a receiver in the first not happy. If the Texans do not find a trade partner for Andre Johnson, he will be released. Meaning the Texans will be another team with a receiver need in the first.
He has already posted his goodbye message on instagram.
Also, the NFL article says if he is released, he will likely demand a deal worth that of what Steve Smith received last year.
