After reading that ESPN article in its entirety, Goodell has got to go. Lying to cover up Spygate for a specific team, which was his favorite team. Now I understand that many executives and owners were saying it was for the better of the league, but where was all the "integrity of the game" mumbo jumbo during this scandal. Enough about that. Nothing is going to change what happened 7 years ago. After reading that, I honestly would consider this whole Goodell is after the Patriots thing is a ruse. Im just speculating here and maybe becoming a conspiracy theorist, but hear me out. Goodell understood that he was in bad blood with the owners (his bosses) after the way he handled Spygate. The horrible investigation that they did, destroying the tapes, all of it. Now with Deflate gate on his plate his team was just caught cheating again. He knew he would have to do something to win over the other owners again. However, the way he has handled this case is just as baffling. Why did he not tell Brady what his impending punishment could be, like he does with everyone else? Why did he go to Berman (when he didnt have to) and how was no one in is attorney able to answer any of the questions the judge asked them? It was pretty simple stuff. Could Goodell really be this unprepared? Stupid? How could he mess up this investigation at every turn? Why was Berman found at a Kraft dinner party the Monday following his decision? Did Goodell purposely choose this judge because all 3 of them were in on it? When I sit and think about it, it just seems way too easy for Goodell to overlook some of these small loopholes or technicalities that allowed Brady and the Patriots to wiggle their way out. If he purposely tried to cover up Spygate, why wouldnt he try to do the same here? This speculation is horribly worded and was written pretty hastily, but just some of my thoughts after reading that article. /conspiracytheorizing
