  1. If the Chargers are serious about Mariota, and considering we played the Titans last year, we shouldn't have to worry about Rivers for another couple years if he does end up in Tennessee. Though by week 8, there would be enough film on Mariota to game plan for him.

I'm not worried about Manning as much. He really should have retired, that loss against Indy, he looked done. I know an entire offseason can change things but even an whole offseason isn't enough to get away from father time. Plus from what we gathered from playing the AFC South last year with Kubiak was his offense is too predictable. They knew what was coming, and come week one we'll know what is coming as well.

    That is a big "if."

In the playoffs, Manning has never exactly been Joe Flacco, if you know what I mean. I could see him being a shell of his former self week 1, but I'm just not counting on it.

  2. All three divisional rivals in a row... together again.

The bye comes at a good time. I'm not absolutely crazy about the Jags being the team after the break, but Baltimore does have an usually difficult time against them so it's not a waste.

I'm very disappointed that both Rivers and Manning are on the schedule so early in the year rather than when it's cold.

  3. I was so hoping to face Manning and Rivers in the cold. This is probably going to be another bloodbath unless maybe Manning really is as done as he looked at the end of last season.

I'll be out on business in San francisco in the middle of October, wouldn't mind stopping by to see the Ravens play.

    Arrange a trip in February.

  4. You know what's funny about Revis going back to NY? All the jets fan welcoming him back and kissing his feet. Check out the jets forums right now. Funny how a yr ago they were ripping him for going to NE. god I hope we don't become fans like that

That's such an awkward situation. It would probably be like if Ed Reed won a ring with Pittsburgh and then came back to Baltimore. It's like "we love you, but... eww."

This has been a mindblowing start to free agency.

I think the Jets are the front runners so far for the off-season championship. Stay tuned.

  5. More Info: According to Cleveland beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, Josh McCown was willing to accept a backup/mentor role while Hoyer wasn't.

I know Hoyer isn't that great but the Browns, being the Browns low balling him. As I said I think Hoyer goes to Buffalo as the starter and proves Cleveland wrong. Then when Manziel sucks, they will be wishing for Hoyer back.

And that's why teams like that are envious of Bisciotti in January.

  6. The Ravens wanted Kyle Shanahan but  so did The Falcons. I'm guessing The Falcons put up more money for Shanahan but at the same time Gary Kubiak was still our offensive coordinator so we technically couldn't hire Kyle Shanahan at all.

I can't believe the Falcons hired an OC before the HC.

I'm happy that they hired him because I enjoy seeing Matt Ryan fail and I expect that Kyle Shanahan will give me what I want.

I don't know about this. Would have preferred a younger coach but at least he'll never get a head coaching job. For some strange reason I'm getting Cam Cameron flashbacks.

Cam is the only OC Flacco has had that did not go on to become a HC in the NFL so maybe that's what made you think about him.

I sure hope Trestman is stellar because if he's not ie. Cameron, Mattison, Pees (depending on your view) the Ravens will take their time in replacing him.

  7. Gase has had interest all over the map, with the Bears, Raiders and Jaguars all in play at some level. But Baltimore might be quickest fix for a guy looking to polish up a resume before future head coaching interviews.

I can't blame him if he wants to be a HC, but consistency would be nice.

If you want to be a head coach, become a Raven... it also works for secondary players if you want to suffer a season ending knee injury.

  8. Wes Welker does not sound enthusiastic about resigning with the Broncos.

    http://www.touchdownactu.com/111027/broncos-wes-welker-ne-sait-pas-sil-veut-revenir/

He had a down year, but that might make him more affordable.

I would love to see Torrey play his entire Football career(College and Pro) in Maryland, but if he wants too much money he's gone. Forsett meanwhile, it seems he wants the money.

Well Torrey could potentially get paid and stay in MD. The Redskins do play in Landover after all.

  9. Rex Ryan would have been better off with a team like the Bears or Falcons. With built offense in place and he could build his defense ( even with the Jets the year after they lost Revis they overachieved as a defense because of his scheming. ).

With the Bills he has strong defense again. Excellent front 4 ( returning kiko Alonso ), RB talent ( but injured too much between Jackson and Spiller ). Young WR talent. At QB do they keep

    Orton for now.

Orton is hanging up his cleats, and of course, Buffalo has no first round draft pick to use for the most important position.

  10.

I believe any FAs we target are going to be mid-level at best and will likely be in the secondary. I haven't checked the numbers yet, but I have to feel like we're going to be up against the cap as usual and, outside of Ngata, we have virtually no way of freeing space.

From what I understand Rice, Pitta, Webb, and Flacco are going to be some of the heavy hitters against the cap.

NFL teams were informed at an NFL meeting on December 9 that the 2015 salary cap is preliminarily projected to be between $138.6 million and $141.8 million

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24913408/agents-take-the-five-teams-with-the-worst-salary-cap-situations

According to Over the Cap, the Ravens current cap number is : $136,704,517

    http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/baltimore-ravens/

It's really weird that Flacco is schedule to have a base salary less than half of Ngata's, but I digress.

    Edit (in English!):

Over the Cap seem to claim that the Ravens have $9,081,110 available in cap space.

Thats good bad for 9th least in the league.

So I guess they could sign another Steve Smith and then have enough left for another Darryl Smith... or something.

  11. Rex is going to a team without a QB and no first round pick. Huh?

Thought he was a slam dunk for Atlanta, but I guess that makes too much sense.

I guess if it's between a qb and an entire defense, a defensive mind like Rex is rolling with the D.

I'm not saying I think it's going to work out well in the long run, but he will probably give the Patriots fits just like he did in New York and he might give Buffalo fans something to believe in... for a little while.

  12. Sounds like LeBeau isn't super happy about leaving... dare I say 'forced out'? Wow. One less familiar face on that sideline. Time to have a healthy dislike/respect for someone else

Bruce Arians can empathize if that is the case.

Pittsburgh is going to have a very unfamiliar looking defense next year. I hope whoever they pick up is utterly incompetent.

  13. I haven't seen First Class yet, so I cant compare it to that. Much, much better than Origins haha. Compared to the others, I'd give it a 8/10. Not quite as good as the first, but still one of the better X-Men films.

EDIT: Another reason I liked The Wolverine, it was a border line rated R movie, I'm surprised they let this movie (being PG-13) get away with some of the scenes that this film had in it.

I'm glad that you mentioned that. I generally try to avoid rated R movies. Now I will have to do some research on this film to see if it's something that I want to sit through.

  14. I just saw it last night. It was good, the scene halfway through the credits was the best part for me hahaha. But overall it was a very well done Wolverine movie, the action was nice, and it mainly focused on the Wolverine's character, which was neat. I'd recommend it.

Can you give it a rating compared to the others? From what I've seen of the commercials, it can't possibly hold it's own with First Class (but not many superhero films can). I hope it's somewhere around the first X-men. And of course, if it's no better than Orgins I'm not going to want to see it.

  15. I think the biggest mistake in Phantom Menace was offing Darth Maul (yes, I rhink that was worse that Jar-Jar). If they had kept him they might not have felt the need to keep introducing new bad guys like Dooku and the crazu robot.

Anyway I just saw White House Down. Its not reallu as bad as some reviews claim. The acting had quite a few moments and it was relentlessly political, but still enjoyable.
