Just now, rossihunter2 said:i cant think of anything worse than those two teams playing each other for a place in the superbowl - it would just be ugly
It wouldn't be any worse than watching this game slip away and we survived that.
Only backup qbs, the South "champions," and KC are standing in their way.
Ugh, it's disgusting to think of what might have been. One of those foolish fourth down attempts, or the accepted penalty against Oakland, or the Jets game...
Of course, they can't win in Cincinnati so it might not have mattered in the end.
1 minute ago, rossihunter2 said:KC vs pats will just be like last year KC vs pats... KC is better but so are the pats and the pats will be at home
Well I'm just going to hope that Reid and the boys learned something because I know Pitt is just going to roll over for the NE. Of course, I'd rather see the Pats win than the Steelers.
2 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:i feel a little empty tbh - i dunno how i even feel about next week now - we dont need that win - do we play the younger guys to see if they can play
like give camp, perriman, waller etc. more snaps - obviously steve as well because this is his last go round
on that subject as well this must feel horrible for steve to go out like this - to not make the playoffs because of a game like that must be excruciating
It has to hurt for Steve Smith. He will probably watch NE go to the Superbowl twice since he decided to sign with Baltimore instead of them.
2 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:if he walks off into the sunset like peyton did ill happily let him win this last one - i just want him gone and done (but he wont because he's a literal machine)
Peyton was on his last leg, Brady is playing near the top of his game. He'll be back.
Kansas City, all our hopes are with you.
1 minute ago, rossihunter2 said:we only have 4 wins outside of the division - that is what killed us this year... dolphins, eagles, jags, bills - yes the dolphins are going to the playoffs but those are trash teams
we also will finish this season with at most 3 wins on the road which is unacceptable if you want to win - because the path to any superbowl always seems to go through foxborough - you need to be able to beat good teams on the road and we didnt - we lost to the giants, raiders, cowboys, patriots, steelers on the road - to be fair we have only lost against good teams on the road but to be the best you have to beat the best (at least some of the time)
The Jets are not a good team. And they still have to go into the Jungle, where they haven't won in about five years. That could easily be another road loss to a below average team.
3 minutes ago, Zeus said:How have we improved? We lost to the jets
I knew that was a game we all look back on and wonder about. You just can't drop games like that, not when you are also incapable of beating the good teams.
2 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:we won the turnover battle, had a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and added another 7 to take the lead and we couldnt stop them once
objectively this game was unbelievable - was the best game of the year to watch by two very even teams playing each other for a division title - but somehow we could end up with this season not even having a winning record which feels weird
what hurts the most is that the path to the afc title game was wide open if we win here - we would have had to beat a tannehill-less dolphins who we already spanked, a carr-less raiders who we nearly beat earlier in the season with carr and without any offense at all and that takes us to foxborough - and now its gonna be pittsburgh who gets to that game and its going to be intolerable watching playoff games hoping that matt moore or matt mcgloin end up playing multiple playoff games
i hate this situation - im essentially gonna have to root for the cowboys to win the superbowl - and it feels weird and it makes me feel dirty
I always end up rooting for the NFC... of course that could be because it's always Pitt or NE in the big game.
But Tim Tebow beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs, maybe one of these backups can too.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
2 minutes ago, OldToby said:Flacco and Harbs garbage? The defense Just had to make a stop, dean pees called zone plays, and it lost the game for us
The defense threw up all over themselves three weeks in a row. Against Pitt they didn't even resist (I can't think of an incomplete pass or tackle for loss on that last drive). They let the lowly Eagles march all the way down the field, and they got embarrassed by the Pats when the game was still within reach.
1 minute ago, AsianRice said:No Hail Mary is like we gave up...stupid playcall! Give our guys no chance to win...
Well they always aim short of the sticks...
But seriously, I'm not sure Joe would have had enough time to let the wrs get into the endzone. It looked like the pressure was closing in.
Just now, Virginia 55 said:With two picks inside the Pittsburgh 30 i doubt it.
Thirty one points is inexcusable. And they allowed a 100 yard rusher for the third time in a row, didn't they?
1 minute ago, ravensdfan said:2 score lead that you don't even put up a fight to keep, offense scores again and you can't even hold them to a FG but allow the go ahead TD. How much do you need to play actual defense?
I don't think the defense had a tackle for no gain or a pass defensed. Pittsburgh just had their way with them on that entire drive.
Of course Dennis Pitta should have caught that ball, but the 31 points in unacceptable.
1 minute ago, redrum52 said:People act like the defense didnt get the offense extra possesions and they didnt start with the ball at the 40 twice.
People act like the defense allowed 31 points.
1 minute ago, BmoreBird22 said:Still wasn't three straight...
Yeah, I had to edit that and put "nearly."
Pathetic defense, absolutely horrendous.
There are no excuses for the last three weeks. You cannot allow nearly 30 points in three straight weeks. Period.
1 minute ago, OUravensfan said:Flacco's fault
Has the defense had so much as a tackle for no gain on this drive?
If Pittsburgh wins that will mean that the defense allowed 30 points in each of the last three games. That is inexcusable.
I don't think the blitz is working.
Just now, mc_red23 said:No we can't. The offense had the opportunities to score way more TD's.
They left some plays on the field to be sure, but push came to shove the offense showed up. What is the defense going to do with the playoffs on the line?
Just now, Dr. Kelley said:Ok. This is now all on the defense. Offense gave the lead.
They had a lead by two scores and now this one makes a third. The defense has no excuse.
If they can get a turnover that will wrap up the gift nicely.
Okay, we have gone back and forth on whether offense or the defense is to blame. The ball is in the defense's court now.
Joe has played well enough to win this game.
These receivers need to catch the ball.
Also, wheres the helmet-to-helmet penalty?
Well I complained about them running on every first down, but now they're just having incompletions on first down instead.
Just now, kennethyamini1989 said:It's not the D's fault. Either Antonio or Bell was going to break out. They held this high power offense to minimal points and gave the Ravens 2 turnovers. It's on the O atm.
They held to minimal points until crunch time.
No turnovers ,no penalties, please.

Yeah, it hurts to think about.
Joe just said that this is the first meaningless game he remembers playing in, but I feel like there should have been a couple last season. I mean, I know he was injured in week 10, but by that point they had probably won like 2 or 3 games... But hey maybe they hadn't been mathematically eliminated yet.
