  1. If the Bengals have their starters in next season's games, Baltimore is going to get stomped. And that is yet another reason why it's so sad they couldn't take advantage of the opportunities they had this year.

"The Baltimore Ravens are just not very talented in the secondary."

That was a true statement, but you could probably leave off the last three words and still be right.

    Get well soon, Jimmy.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell is interested in Patriots OC Josh McDaniels for the Head Coach vacancy.

I hope that McDaniel's absence could finally slow down the NE machine.

Of course, he's left before and I don't remember if it had much of an impact on the Pats offense.

The catty mean part of me says good he can kick Denver like he did to us but the rational RN side of me says he had the very scary TIA on the side lines when he coached for the Texan, then a 'Complex Migraine' with the Broncos He was 'tired and lethargic' -after the game

Both of these conditions are scary neurological events in a relatively young-55 yo man.  I bet he wants to talk stuff over with his family and find something less stressful like QB coach or OC

Sounds like you can have your cake and eat it too. He can disappoint Denver and make a good health decision.

Bonus (or maybe brownie) points: he can come back a relaxing job with Baltmore.

In the game as a whole, yes. But was just commenting per the title of the topic. Brown doesn't reach the ball across the goal line the Ravens are in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh would still have had at least 9 seconds to try gain 6 inches, and maybe more if Bell had been tackled with 10 or 11 seconds left.

Plus Baltimore would still face another elimination game in Cincinnati, where they have not won in 5 years.

I can get with that. There have been times where even I questioned if Marty knows how to truly use the weapons this team has. But is that something that can be rectified by during self scouting during the offseason or does that just mean Marty needs to go? You and I both have had this convo many of times before about players possibly being cut.

To be honest the Ravens offense over the last 8 games, looks nearly identical to the Atlanta Falcons offense last year, minus a Julio Jones of course. But those guys didn't have a big down field presence or strong running game under Shanahan his first year. Then they took off this year. In fact reports were that Matt Ryan was overwhelmed in that offense and that he wasn't on the same page with Kyle. Now fast forward a year and they might be the most explosive offense in the NFL, mainly because they were able to stay the course. Now that's not to say Marty is capable of taking this offense to those heights but he does have a proven track record and that combined with some of the bright spots this offense has had, I feel Harbs will definitely give him an opportunity to at least interview for the job.

I don't keep up with Atlanta these days so this is an honest question: did they also have a baffling tendancy to aim short of the sticks on every single third down pass?

    That would be uncanny.

The pass rush stinks and Jimmy cant stay on the field.  Its the same problems.  I honeslty dont think hes the problem, but im not against a change depending on whos brought in.  Hate tonsay this, but this loss might be a good thing.  Hope we lose next week too.

The pass rush is a big factor. Suggs and Doom must be replaced next season. You can't blame the DC for that.

Pees isn't a great DC, but he's good enough to win a SB so what more can you ask for? I'd rather stick with him than have a revolving door like the OCs (and they need to keep trying there).

Flacco to Jets for Jets 1st round pick ..Jets get Ravens 2017 2nd and 3rd round pick and 2018 1st round pick

You made me do a little research and from what I gather: if the Ravens trade Joe Flacco they will have a ton of dead money against the cap.

    Quote

This is not baseball. You don’t just take your most important guy and trade him to a team in need of that player for a playoff run and stock pile prospects in return. It doesn’t work that way.

Say the Ravens traded Joe Flacco. They are still on the hook for all of the guaranteed money prorated across the contract, which becomes dead money

    http://baltimoresportsandlife.com/like-joe-flacco-stay/

That article was from last year, but this site shows his contract today and going forward: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/joe-flacco-4000/

The dead money is 47 million next year and 28 the year after that. They can't even think about life without Flacco (excepting injury) until 2019 when the cap hit would "only" be 16 million, but 2020 is more realistic with a dead money cap hit of 8 million.

I don't know whether that is good, bad, or ugly, but Flacco is here to stay.

And really, he played more than well enough to win this game, Pitta, Perriman, and Waller did not.

Edit: I just took a closer look at that trade offer. The Jets would get the Ravens 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and a SB MVP qb and all Baltimore would get is one first round pick? Talk about getting fleeced.

What excuse did i just make?  I agree.  I defended Pees but made no excuse for the choke job. Is it Pees fault our guys couldn't tackle a 180 pound wr or pressure doesn't get there when he sends a blitz?

Can't blame him for the unneeded PI contact or Brandon Williams letting Bell slip through his fingers.

Besides, you have to look at Pees's body of work. He has coached plenty of victories vs the Steelers, just not in this game.

I think I'm on the blame-the-players bandwagon right now.
