Maybe we should all reveal one little tidbit about ourselves.  For example: you all know I'm a huge Ravens fan (evidence: 10 years of trying to keep these forums civil).  What you may not know is that I'm an even bigger Orioles fan, even through the 14 straight losing seasons.

I knew you liked the O's but I never would have guessed you liked them more.

My username is from Matthew 6:23  "If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"

Also I enjoy travelling to foreign countries by myself (as long as English isn't too widely spoken). This time last year I was headed to Egypt.

  2. That was pathetic. Pittsburgh is missing all of those players, but instead of capitalizing on the opportunity, Washington just threw up all over themselves.

There's basically no way that a team of their caliber can win out so that was probably the season.

After that 6-2 game At Home, I really shouldn't be suprised, but I'm still mad.

Most of all I'm disappointed in myself for actually believing things could be different this year. Well, at least I have the regular season to look forward too, that's more than some fans can say.

I need to scope out a bandwagon team to pin my hopes on. I wanted it to be Montreal since Quebec is so beautiful, but that didn't work out.

For Holly Day, Moderators should forgive all ravens fans members who have restriction/warning points.

Or all members could choose to say only complimentary things to each other... then no one will earn a warning.

It's nice of you to consider your fellow members though.

    That's perfect.

I have a Heap jersey but it's black and I have a pink Reed jersey. I can't decide which to wear.

Yeah honestly man, the thought of back to back pens titles is making me sick. Hopefully nashville/edmonton/st louis stop them. I know pens have a good offense but braden needs to do better. Also pens are missing letang and murray so there's no excuse on the offense side of things. You guys should get rid of trotz honestly, if you have babcock, julien, laviolette, quinvelle, the sens coach or even mike yeo you would fair so much better. Hell even AV from the rangers would do better, trotz is lost in the post season. Two wasted presidents cups, unbelievable.

Yeah Trotz should not return next season. I'm not going to pretend like I have all the answers but I don't think the Caps decision makers will let him stay after the team has failed so spectacularly year after year like this.

damn, 5-2 now. Holtby isn't saving a thing and MAF is a brick wall. Caps have outshot the pens in both games too. I don't see ottawa or NY stopping the pens either. At this point all we can hope for is somehow for caps to have a miracle comeback or for western conference team to beat them.

A 6-2 loss was about as bad as it gets despite Washington's furious first period.

Poor Holtby is having a terrible series with 6 goals allowed in 2 games. Grubauer didn't fare much better with 2 in less than entire period (don't know how many shots).

It's hard to picture the Caps evening things up in Pittsburgh so this series is probably lost.

If the Penguins win the Cup again I will rage-quit hockey.

Washington has to win game 2, and I think they will. I think pens take the series in 6 though, I hope i'm wrong.

At this rate they'll take it in 4.

You're right about this being a must win game. If the Caps can't come back from this 3-1 deficit to win this match, they are all but done.

    NOOOOOO

Their O-line has as many holes as Swiss cheese. I wouldn't have a problem with an offensive lineman.

Mod note: Any and all discussions about the Caps/Pens game should be posted in the NHL playoffs thread in the off-topic forum.

I don't know maybe it's The NFl just making sure The draft actually is some what entertaining and ends at midnight

If this were Friday night, I'd still be annoyed by that. But it's Thursday; people have to get up for work tomorrow.

But one of the benefits of the Ravens recent records is that I no longer need to stay up late to see them pick... unless they trade down. Please don't trade down.

Some teams like to wait it out just in case a team calls them and offer them a trade they can't refuse.

It ticks me off when it takes 28 minutes to get the third pick in.

Now that I think of it... I didn't tune in until 8:13 and Cleveland still hadn't chosen. What gives?

    Completely untrue.

My daughter, her biological father killed himself when she was 16 month old.  Having not only that void, but the sudden loss DID in fact have en effect on her lateer on in life.  She doesn't remember a thing, but the event DID have an effect on her.

I'm sorry for about what happened to your family.

You bolded this part of my comment: "That kid probably barely knows him and at her age she could forget him pretty quickly."

Your statement about a young child's memory (or lack thereof) would seem to agree with what I wrote previously.

Normally I'd neg someone laughing at the death of someone else but I can't bring myself to do it. Hernandez was a monster.

that being said, I'm sending prayers out to his four year old daughter. She must feel terrible/had to bear the burden of having a convicted murdered as her father

I don't mean to make light of the situation but Hernandez was imprisoned in 2013, right? That kid probably barely knows him and at her age she could forget him pretty quickly. A name as common as Hernandez won't be likely to arouse suspicion at the playground either. If the friends and family don't bring him up too often as the years go bye he might become a distant memory for his child.

But regardless, all of this senseless loss of life is sad: Odin, the two other men, and even Hernandez.
