I would feel more sympathy if they would make more tackles and not give up every single long 3rd down. The offense has no weapons; the defense has no excuse.
That's the way to start the half. Now with the receivers the lack of talent is obvious. The corners are a bit more mysterious because this shouldn't have happened until Webb and Smith have their annual injuries.
Yeah but the receiver issues were obvious, corner shouldn't have been a problem until one or both of those injury prine starters goes down. Instead they're playing like last years backups backups.
I knew the offense was in trouble all year long because they were relying on a 30 year old running back and 35 yr old receiver to carry things, but the defense really should not be playing like this.
There's time, but this team's recent history would suggest a three and out followed by another Steelers score or a Ravens turnover. Let's hope they turn the page.
Amen to that. It's been their MO this season, as we all know. I can't help but think about Harb's ranting during halftime of one of the pre-season games. "I'd like to get a stop within three minutes for once..."
They had to scramble on a short week after a major injury to their most important player. I'm betting they do have a couple of tricks up their sleeve, but it's probably not anything crazy. The Ravens concern me a lot more.
Camp's probably still not going to be one of the top two receivers. He can be spared more easily than Webb. As long as SSS isn't returning, I'm relatively happy.
