Ok. So we just draft Brandon Williams, and the guy the Trojan who was down last year with an acl injury .. On top of mcphee, Tyson, ngata .. Again we're STACKED! Whats the point man.. Like ok, mosely ill give you maybe you cut smith next year or something .. Which i came up with trying to find some logic. But you use two of our first picks on positions we're stacked at ?! Come on guys. Please tell me youre not with this whole "oz has a plan " .. I love the guy, but man did he blow it this draft .. Neg me all you want, but reality is reality

My friend think, any player could be a bust .. You mean to tell me youre going to take a chance at a position thats totally secure and has starters for a player that might be a bust? How do you know Moseley wont be a bust? You dont, we dont, they dont. Thats the name of the game. Why waste a first rd pick on a position we're stacked at .. Lets say haha is a bust, how about a oline men, maybe a wr especially with Thompson not living up to what some thought her do this season. Come on, the pick was dumb. I watch the same tape as they do, i watch every Sunday. And according to the tapes that pick didnt help, if anything it hurts bc of the confusion of whos who. Keep in mind that both Sergio Kindle & Terrence Cody were both "need" picks. So if Dix is a bust, Pryor is a SS and Mosley is a top 10 talent on your board, what do YOU do?

And what do you think our FO does? You think they are not aware of our needs (probably way more than any of us fans)? And you frankly don't think they have a plan? That they don't say "Heck with our needs, who cares that we don't yet have a true RT and FS, we'll see what happens."?

oh please... i just gave you my point and logic, now prove what i said was wrong. show me the logic outside of oh the professionals know better than we do logic  .. bc if thats the case theres no reason for us to state our opinions or have such forum. but please explain this move as well as i broke down why is didnt make sense, im sure you can do the same

i must admit not only ami i disgusted with this pick by our fo, but with our fans for just acting as if its a good pick or makes any logical sense.. ok. we just re signed smith for fours yrs, and we just draft brown in the second round of last years draft.. now im not against drafting a liner backer in this draft, BUT IN THE FIRST RD? come on guys, this move was illogocal and we all know it. only positions that made logical sense in the first round goes with out saying, o line, wr, fs. simple. who in the world on this forum was even talking about mosley, be honest. and this isnt a knock to that brotha bc hes probably a great talent. but think, where does he fit? ab couldve started last year and did, and was prodcutive, so we know chances are hes starting next to smith this year.. soooooo.. where does that leave leave mosley, special teams? or occcasional 2 or 3 down linebacker until we cut smith.. i love oz like the next, but im not going to let you pee on my leg tell me its rain and accpt it. this was illogical given the talent at positions we needed to fill were on the board .. my guess, a punter or water boy next round

Well, if you really feel like bringing Smith in is going to be an epic failure, it is not RavensManiac you need to yell at to wake up, you need to do it to the FO, because it seems like they are aggressively pursing this signing. 

 

Please - you are really bringing up Stokley as a comparison? I really think Smith has something left in the tank and he plays like a Raven. We need a guy who is willing to float across the middle, get blasted in the chops, hold onto the ball and say, thank you sir, may I have another. 

 

He's a bridge to the future and we're a good enough team to warrant having a guy that adds that much needed toughness and experience to this group. He's not going to put up jaw dropping numbers, but he's going to contribute in a significant positive way.... that is, of course, if we land him. Which is apparently something we're very interested in doing.

@stone4 Because Nicks is injury prone. I don't think James Jones is good. In my opinion he is a very average player that benefited from Aaron Rodgers. His stats were never even that good even with Rodgers. And Sanders? Don't even know where to begin on him. He is not even CLOSE to Steve Smith. His best season was 740 yds with 6 TDs. This was last year when the Steelers had almost nobody to through to. Plus none of these guys have the veteran leadership that Steve Smith does. I think Steve Smith would be an infinitely better signing than any of the available FA WR's.

If we win a Super Bowl with him, is it worth it? Nicks comes with a hefty price tag, and he doesn't have the Ravens mentality that Smith does. You don't come across extremely passionate football players everyday, which is why the Ravens are so anxious to snag him.

Hey friend... Clark played well considering he was signed for the vet minimum and was a band aid because we were screwed when Pitta when down. And read what I said before you speak. I said Stokely would have been a good signing but no one could predict he would get hurt. And cool if Smith comes to play the slot, Marlon is on the outside. Who cares? They are all on the field at the same time. I think you're the one who needs to WAKE UP SON!!!! because you sound like a Steeler fan right now. When Steve Smith balls out for us this year you will see. That's all I am saying. 2 years removed from 80 catches and 1400 yards. Half of that production plus his leadership and passion and he is a hell of a pick up.

Actually, Clark played in only 12 games and started 0, yet still finished with 31 rec, 343 yards, and 3 TDs. Let me ask, was signing Shannon Sharpe "past his prime" a bad move?

ibelieve sharpe was 31 and only here 2 years ... there a difference my friend, and uh.. im not sure smith is a sharpe .. 

If nothing else, Smith offers fierce offensive leadership. His passion is off the charts. He is still good for 800 yards.  A two year contract is something that would greatly benefit the team.  At this stage, he knows and has admitted he isn't a #1 receiver, but he also said he would exceed any expectations in whatever role he is given. That's our kind of guy.

but for TWO years tops .. really think about it, again  love smith. but are you telling me youd rather get smith for two years than go after nicks for 4 or 5 who also had great years, and once his contract is up we could still re sign for 3 or 4 more years. come on man, be real about. im speaking logic

@stone4 pitta and monroe have nothing to do with are WR's. Jones is not a great receiver and in my opinion never will be. Outside of Smith, we have no proven WR's. I love Marlon Brown but he is still not a proven reliable receiver yet. I don't think we should gamble a whole season on him or a rookie to be a leading receiver. We have no veteran leadership in our WR group other than Smith and he isn't really a "veteran". I think we should draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd and sign Steve Smith.

i believe, boldin was 29 when we picked him up ... and he was given a chance to build here for years to come if the ravens wanted to do so. and got a ring out of it..hell yeah it was worth it

I think you are the one who needs to wake up because Dallas Clark played well last year outside of a few drops while Pitta was gone. I don't understand why Deion Sanders was brought into this discussion and Stokely was a good signing for the price. No one could predict him getting hurt. That being said, I see you complaining how Marlon Brown will some how be phased out of the offense if Steve signs here as if there is no such thing as 3 and 4 WR sets. And who ever said Steve Smith would take Marlon Browns spot as the #2 receiver.

guys if the guy goes and have a great year or two, what the chances of that lasting another two years.. i mean not that he couldnt, but him actually wanting to be play. hes not 31 32, his prime has pasted . the most he could do is offer wisdom, but other than that be honest man. how long will this last, if he signs a two year deal, and only get 62 catches 745 yards and 3 tds he'll be released guaranteed.. bc we have wrs that do that here now, but we'll see. and im hoping he has a great last few years but it isnt something thatll last. we need to try build a team of chemistry, pitta 5yrs, monroe 5yrs, jones, 4yrs. build around that

you dont what kind of supporter i am .. but since youre curious, im the kind of thats realistic. smith is one of my favorite wr period, but lets say he catches 75+ passes and 800+ yards hes 34 if him and joe get good chemistry it wont be long lived... now you seem to be the delusional that probably jumped for joy when we signed deon sanders, or dallas clark or stokely and thought theyd dramatically upgrade our team. Agreed, everyone seems so hyped about getting a big name receiver but forgetting this guy is 35 yrs old. His best years aren't just behind him, they're five plus years behind him. Like the idea of getting a veteran to help develop some of the younger guys but Steve smith doesn't seem like the mentor type, panthers gm said he was a distraction more than anything else last year
