  1. Our second pick is going to be only a few places backs from where we usually draft in the first round. In fact with our extra picks from losing McPhee, Torrey Smith, we can afford to trade a fourth and our second to move up into the first round with that pick and get two firsts.

So we could possibly get two high quality players if the team drafts smartly.

  2. Harbaugh said yesterday Perriman needs rest not surgery . No way then it's a class 2 PSL strain .

"To me , it's a hard one to understand" said Harbaugh. Hmmm .

" I had a chance to talk to him yesterday probably for the FIRST TIME IN DEPTH BECAUSE HE WAS HARD TO TALK TO BEFORE" . This apparently because he was down .

This guy sounds like a freakin head case to me .

Just read between the lines of what Harbaugh said .

Maybe Harbaugh should talk to potential first round draft choices before we draft them.   If he has a hard time talking to them before we draft skip that player.

  3. Ozzie typically drafts BPA weighted for needs.

If that continues, which it will, based on our current draft position we'll end up with either Bosa, Hargreaves or Ramsey. At least one of them will be on the board and all 3 fill immediate needs.

All 3 are among the best overall prospects in the draft regardless of position and all 3 have the potential to be perennial All Pros. Probably 3 of the better prospects to come out at their respective positions in quite a while.

I personally have a slight preference for Bosa because I salivate just thinking if what our Dline could be like for the next 3-5+ years with Bosa, Williams, Jernigan, Davis, Urban and Guy.

That line can chew up and spit out blockers, rush the passer, bat passes down, you name it. And with the youth and depth that rotation would just be disgusting. You win in the trenches and that could set us up to have one of, if not THE best offensive and defensive lines in football.

Bosa can rush from DE and can even stand up and rush as an OLB. He's got the size/strength to fight in the trenches, but also the athleticism to rush from the edge or even drop into coverage a little. The dude just looks like he was born to be a Raven... And he might just be on the board for us when the time comes.

When we draft we need to take best player available in the first round no matter what the position.  As everyone see injuries happen all the time.  If there a potential future hall of famer at linebacker or defensive tackle although they might not seem like needs you get that guy.

  4. Few players we should keep, the linebackers, brandon williams, carl davis.Webb. As for the offense, the tight ends and marshal yanda that is it. The rest must be reevaluated, im sick of jimmy, as soon as he got paid he has sucked.

What about Suggs???  The Offensive line isn't bad.   And Flacco??  How about Forsett?

  5. We need a new medical staff because they have been terrible as of late. We have remain one of the most injuried teams the last 3 years. Im sure if someone checked the stats we are in the top 3 the last 3 years for injuries. I mean seeing all these injuries you have to begin to wonder if your medical staff really knows what they are doing.

As for Perriman I wasnt excited for him from the start and Im not going to start getting excited when he comes back next year. He already looked like he couldnt catch the ball and now he may be labled injury prone. Yet another player to add the long list of failed drafted WRs. At the moment it looks like Waller is going to be the better option.

Medical staff doesn't prevent injuries. If someone tears their ACL it isn't the medical staff's fault.  Grasping at straws.

  6. No. Not even close to the same thiing.

Sergio was out partying all the time and couldn't learn the playbook.   We know nothing about Perriman.  Oh well I am not worrying about it.  If he comes back and plays next year great.  I still wouldn't plan on him playing.  But i wonder who is in charge of drafting these guys.  Seems like all the time Ozzie says we had this guys as a top 10 talent or first round and talent and we are so lucky he fell to us the guy turns out to be a zero.  Maybe Ozzie needs to figure out there is a reason other teams are passing on these players.

  7. Harbaugh is about the best coach in the NFL, if not for his X's and O's, his character.  Total class act.  I actually believe if not for him, we'd be getting blown out in every game; this team lacks quality at nearly every single position.  Yet we manage to keep games close?

What concerns me most about the ravens is not a down year, but rather what is looking like some disturbingly long-term drags on the cap space.  In other words, we sign ridiculous contracts.  I don't pretend to understand how the cap technically works, but what i have seen is that no matter what happens next year with both Suggs and Webb, their previously guaranteed contracts will impact our ability to sign quality players.

Suggs: there is no way a 2x achilles tear player will return.  Webb: he's just seemingly lost, and carrying an attitude to boot.  You could not get a 6th round draft pick for either anymore, plus you'd be forced to pay their contracts.

So two of the most expensive dead-money pieces left over after this year will simply replace what the Ravens get from Rice/Ngata.

Meaning: we are in a long term ugly holding pattern until Ozzie stops overpaying.

    My two cents.

You could get more than a sixth rounder for both Suggs and Webb.  If guys like this were available for a six rounder why don't the Ravens get them.   Webb is probably our best corner right now.  Suggs is a beast and you can see how much we miss him on defense.

  8. Fired after his first losing season? That move would likely hurt the team for years. Someone will probably lose their job but I don't see it being John H.

Why would it hurt the team for years?  I am not saying he would be fired but if the team is 2-14 there is a good chance he is fired.  And if he can only coach the team to 2-14 why would it hurt them to bring in someone else. Gary Kubiak had to back to back to winning seasons with playoff victories in both of those seasons.  Next season his team starts 2-11 and he is fired.  Doesn't even finish the season.  That is what happens to coaches who have horrible seasons they get fired.

  9. Pretty much every single time.  People can never name a better replacement, just want to fire someone.  After all those "fire Mattison" posts (even though his defense stayed in the top 10) we got one season of Pagano and now it's "fire Pees" with no word on who to replace him.  I bet they'd take Mattison back now.  And if Harbaugh were to actually be fired I'm pretty sure the next HC would be worse without question

Pees has actually had more success than Harbaugh.  DC of the 16-0 season with the Patriots.

  10. I do love the whole "lets blame the HC for the team committing penalties" logic.

Its almost as if fans think that coaches go out there and tell their players to grab players by the face mask when they are tackling them, or to shove a guy in the back on a ST play when the whistle blew a minute earlier.

That isn't the issue with the losing the game.  And those who don't think Harbaugh will get fired with a 2-14 record are kidding themselves.  After the 8-8 season Biscotti basically said the guys were going to have to improve or they were out of there.  After a season like 2-14 someone is getting fired.  I would say the team needs at least 5 wins if Harbaugh wants to keep his job.

  11. Just by u saying 4-12 makes everything you say wrong, there were 5-11 because Steve McNair got injured. Make things up in your head.

Ray Lewis was injured much of that year as were a lot of other players.  When Billick had a real QB he won games.

Anyway at a certain point if you have a 2-14 team you know the coach is pretty meaningless.  As most coaches are going to get your team to win at least a couple of games.

  12. one site lists Aiken with 14 targets

I don't know what is it with flacco ...he just likes to saturate a guy lately.  Lack of confidence in the crew I guess.

Regarding penalties we were certainly outcoached.

I don't think we have leaders on the field telling the others to watch the penalty in the key situation. I really don't.  We just got gutted is all and its a long haul to get back.  Stopping the injuries would help, but come on.........we are clearly dysfunctional.

From what the announcers and Flacco have been saying is that the plays are designed to only go to one player.

  13. lol!

We have a decent offensive line.  Good running back and full back.  Solid group of tight ends.  QB has been productive.   We have some holes on defense but I think the secondary is coming together nicely with Webb, Smith, and Will Hill all playing well now.  Linebackers might be our weakness.  But this isn't a terrible team. The Jaguars didn't do much today.

  14. Harbaugh needs to be fired.  He isn't an offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator. So he isn't helping design plays to help the team win.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt before but he cleared house after the Super Bowl because of his ego.  But when you lose to teams like the Jaguars at home when clearly the Ravens are the better team there is time for the coach to be replaced.  You can say it isn't his fault.  But whatever the team can't win games.  Every game we are in but lose.

Today was pathetic.  You have to make a change. Either Harbaugh goes or Ozzie goes.  Easier to replace the coach.

    -4

  15. Yeah that's just simply not the case. At a 2-14 record, Harbaugh keeps his job.

And just so we can disprove this fan rumor/theory that Billick was fired for having one bad season...

Billick missed the playoffs entirely 3 of his last 4 seasons, and the season BEFORE he went 13-3 he went 6-10. His final three years in Baltimore, he was 24-24 in the regular season and 0-1 in the playoffs.

Keep in mind also that we had zero playoff wins in the final six years that Billick was the HC there, only made the playoffs in two of those years, including 2006 with a stacked team where we finished with the #1 seed and then lost our first playoff game at home.

Billick did not get fired for having one bad season, and neither is Harbaugh.

If the Ravens finish 2-14 this season they would be 20-28 the last three years.  That is worse than 24-24.  Also the Ravens will be 1-1 in the playoffs the last 3 seasons.  That isn't much better than 0-1.  I am not saying to say Harbaugh should be fired but 2-14 coaches rarely see the next season.  Especially if they made the playoffs the year before.  In Billick's final season he had a lot of injuries to deal with as well as having Boller as he is starting QB.

I don't know what the odds of him are getting fired are but it is certainly higher than 1 percent.

  16. This is what's frustrating, fans are getting mad at him and not realizing he is just abiding by the coaches rules. If anyone thinks he doesn't want to be playing they are delusional

You have no clue whether he wants to play or not.  You know absolutely nothing about him.  All of this conjecture because we have received zero information from the source.  And who knows if Perriman got his big payday and feels like spending his time partying or is actually working hard to return.  WE ACTUALLY KNOW NOTHING!!

I am not mad at him at all.  I am mad at Ozzie for letting Torrey Smith go and depending on a rookie.  I don't expect much out of rookies in the NFL.

  17. There is probably a 1% chance (at best) of Trestman being fired. There is a 0% chance that Harbaugh takes over as OC if Trestman is gone.

There is a much higher chance than 1 percent of Trestman getting fired.  If the Ravens lose the rest of their games Harbaugh has a pretty good chance of getting fired.  Billick's last two season's here 13-3 and 5-11.  That sure beats 10-6 and 2-14.   New coach would bring in his own OC.

  18. I'm already looking at next year and have at least 10 Ravens players who will not be with the team next year.

    Retired:

    Dennis Pitta

    Terrel Suggs

Steve Smith Sr. ( who will be traded to Carolina so he can sign a 1 day contract )

    Waived or traded:

    Michael Campanaro

    Marlon Brown

    Chris Canty

    Matt Schaub

    Joseph Morgan

    Ladarius Webb

    Allen Reisner

These coaches will also be fired.

Dean Pees and almost the entire defensive coaching staff.

Marc Trestman ( John Harbaugh will take over as OC )

I don't see Webb being cut.  He would only save 3.5 million.  He is worth more than that.  Canty would only save 765k.  He most likely will be back.

I can gurantee you that Harbaugh will not be the offensive coordinator next year.

  19. because he is a raven... But agree to disagree.

He isn't a Raven to me.  He has never played a down for the team.  Where was the loyalty to all the guys who won the Super Bowl and then were shown the door right after the victory parade?  I know nothing about the guy or his injury.  Has he given a single interview about his injury?  And there a million negative posts about coaches, current players, and former players on here.   Why don't you post this in the Pees thread?   He helped the team win the Super Bowl.

  20. I'd rush to sign Josh Gordon next season. Regardless if Perriman comes back healthy and Steve Smith Sr suits up another year. That's how desperate we are for a star receiver. I'm sure another team will jump on him but If I'm Ozzie I wouldn't hesitate. Give him a 1 or 2 year deal with not much guaranteed. I believe once he gets the hell out of Cleveland the waters will part and he'll be cured from all his disorders. Apples & oranges but aren't we glad we took a chance on Hill?

Relying on Perriman is just as risky IMO

Even if Perriman and Smith Sr. were healthy right now you would want more quality receivers.  Are third and fourth receiver would still not be good enough.
