Well other than the reason you just named, 11 years in the NFL is a full career, he will never have to work again. You and I (unless you are an inheritance child) will never get that luxury until social security kicks in (or die in all likelihood). 

 

To piggy back off of that we would have to work what 35 years to be considered that AT LEAST, if not longer. So if I retire when I am 65 and when I am say 62 some company offers me a $2.00 raise I am going to stay because of what I have vested in the company and know that in the grand scheme of things that money is not worth the uncertainty of another company just for the last 2 or 3 years of my career before I retire anyway.

Ok yeah sure i get all that. I'm just meaning in general. He's still gonna take the money, just like mostly every other nfl player would.

Trying to compare a regular 9 to 5 to the NFL is not a valid comparison.

And nobody says they have to, and neither do we as fans. Ed is not on JO's level, and NOWHERE near Ray's.

How is it not? Yes, its comparing hourly wages to millions of dollars. But the deal Reed signed was gonna be the last of his career, and we all knew this. So of course he's going to take the money, and I don't blame him in the slightest. It'd be the same way if you or I would take a better paying job. 

Yes this is true. It is supply side economics though, the greater the supply the cheaper the product. The less product the more valuable the product.

 

Not many will retire as Ravens. Nor should they. It is a career long investment and I have seen it among every Ravens fan. Two people we will fight ot the death for is JO and Ray. That is how it should be, they gave us all they had and in turn we make them icons not only on the field but off as well. These men are as giants to us and almost all of us given the choice between spending the day with JO or Ray, or the president it would be a no brainer. 

 

Sure there is only two but those two deserve everything the community has for what they gave us. Ed Reed, Heap, Mason all quit and chased the money. I feel no hesitation in saying to this point there has only been two true to the core Ravens. 

Not exactly sure why that's such a big deal to people.If you worked somewhere for 11 years, but someone else called you offering you a significant raise, you wouldn't take it? Why do players have to stay "loyal"? This is a JOB. It's a business.  And Ed deserves everything that JO and Ray get, and will with most people. 

Don't care what anyone says, would love to see him back. Will it happen? Probably not. In reality, should it happen? Definitely not, he isn't even a shell of his former self. But I still would not mind it at all. 

Pitching:

Scott Feldman probably will be gone. Jim Johnson will probably stay (Orioles say they will offer tender) unless some other team offers him more money which is possible, like the Yankees? We should try to keep Bud Norris. Kevin Gausman can only get better. I look for him being a reliever or even a starting pitcher depending on this offseason. However we should look in the free agency for a starting pitcher or even trade for one. Jason Hammel I hope we resign him for the next couple years. When does Bundy come back?

 

Hitters: 

Brian Roberts contract is up (was 4 years/$40M) I would keep him but he gets injured to much. I just don't see him coming back honestly. Same with Morse. McLouth i hope we can extend or perhaps trade him. Chris Davis nuff said. 

 

Catchers:

Extend Matt Wieters. 

Steve Clevenger has been good in Triple A hitting wise (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6825/steve-clevenger

) so I would want to see what he can do. He can also play 1st base too I guess. Good back up for Matt Wieters. 

Just 3 things to point out.

1. Norris is locked up through next year i believe. 

2. Really? thats surprising, he was pretty horrible this year. Nothing like his 2012 performance.

3. McLouth is a free agent, can't be traded. But I do hope we re-sign him as a 4th outfielder, like FerrariFan said above.

Anyway, I hope we figure out what to do with Markakis. He isn't worth the $15 million he will be paid next year, considering his year this year was BAD. Obviously we can't just release him (and i wouldn't want to), and nobody would take on his contract. So i'm hoping he can just have a bounce back year. 

They easily could've left the episode ending with him not finding the book, or him finding the tracker, but to end how it did, I'm telling everyone to "tread lightly" this week. Makes you think how deep this gets and I honestly have no idea how this will end. The writing and acting have been great, but Pinkman is starting to get annoying to me again.

how dare you! Lol. He's my favorite, so i can't say much bad about it, but i can't see why he annoys people haha. 

What was so masterful about tonight's episode was its arrogance: it accelerated the pace and directly addressed all of the things we'd hope the rest of this season would address, all in one episode.

 

With so many twists and turns, now we're at a complete loss as to how the next episode will go -- and that's what any good story should do, is to make you guess without being predictable.

I'm SO glad they did that. Accelerated the pace. I mean, i guess they have to with only 7 episodes left now, but they easily could have beat around the bush probably. Tonights episode was perfect, like you said, we have no idea whats gonna happen now. 

My reaction to tonights episode of Breaking Bad: OMGGGG. Like everyone said, set the tone perfectly. Can't wait for next sunday already lol. 

I'm mainly an xbox guy, but i do own a ps3 as well. I'm going to get the xbox one first, because IMO, I've thought the online play was far superior than ps3. Like i said, my opinion, don't kill me for it. lol.

I'm fine with being online once every 24 hours, because I'm on at least once a day now as it is, even if its just to watch netflix. And I'm a little mad about the used games thing, but i went and looked through my games last night, and probably 90% of them i bought new anyway, so i'm meh about it. 

Plus, i like the xbox exclusives better. Halo, Gears, Dead Rising (and i'm sure there are others that i can't think about right now), are a few of my favorite games that I've played. So i'm willing to fork over an extra $100 to play them. 

I won't be getting either one on launch day, but I will get an xbox one first. I'll probably still end up getting a ps4 eventually, cause a few of my xbox buddies are gonna get both as well. I just will wait a little for that. 

FINALLY got into LOST. I watched the first episode probably 6 months ago and thought "meh". No idea what i was thinking. Started watching about a week and a half ago, and I'm already almost done season 3. Great show.

Some of you have never watched these things before have you? They show a FEW games on it, not many. They always show the major features and new stuff. They save the games for E3, thats the point.

I know I'm WAY behind, but been trying to watch Lost and Supernatural with my girl because we've pretty much run out of shows to watch on netflix.

At least 5 of our shows are either ending this year, or have been canceled. A few of mine are on break as well (SOA, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead).

We've been watching Men at Work (on TBS). I really like it.

Season 4 so far is ehh of community.. They got rid of Dan Harmon the creator and its gone downhill big time...

Yeah I've heard. I heard Chevy Chase is gonna be gone too after season 4. Which is ok with me, i didn't really like his character.

Figured i'd bring this thread back, i recently finally bought seasons 1-3 of community. They were on sale at Target 2 weeks ago for $15, so i figured i'd just buy all 3. And i'm already finished all 3 seasons. I'll wait for season 4 on dvd. In the meantime, i'm finally gonna start and get caught up on Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.

I think it is a total disservice to "real" gamers out there that Sony would bend or even spend their time or efforts to bend to social media. I dont think Joe Snuffys friends will give a damn that he found the mask of Volsung on Skyrim. It was a waste of time that they could have spent on backwards compatibility.

Sony says they want to please their gamers, then give us something real like BC for PS3 2 and 1. They are getting like Square putting out all this garbage when the people are asking for something real.

It really has nothing to do with them wasting time on bending over backwards for social media, it's all money. lol. The next xbox probably won't have backwards compatibility either. Simply because they want people who are buying the new system to buy the new games for that system.

Trust me, i wish they would both have backwards compatibility. I probably have over 60 xbox 360 games. They will all go to waste if i get a new system.

I saw on twitter on the 20th, that they aren't blocking used games. This may or may not be true, so don't hold me to this. But all i remember is it saying "GameStop employees can breath a sigh of relief, Sony isn't blocking used games."

Can't wait for Season 4 of Community to start in February.

Never actually been able to watch Community, cause i normally don't buy seasons of shows, and the only other thing i have is Netflix. I'm sure i can watch it on my computer, but I'd just rather watch it on a tv. I guess i'll have to cave soon and buy season 1. lol

So i figured i would just reply in this thread instead of creating a whole new one. What's everyones favorite tv shows on Netflix? I know there was an old thread about it, but didn't wanna search for it and bring it back. Its from a year or two ago, so Netflix has changed its shows quite a bit

Just recently bought season 1 of both Boardwalk Empire and Homeland. Heard they were very good shows. Hopefully i enjoy them, and i can get caught up.

Lol I didnt mean stuff that wasnt possible, obviosuly thats in it. I meant they changed a ton of stuff to make the movie more action style.

Then I go Dogma, Clerks 1. Looking forward to Kevin Smith's last (proclaimed) flick. 'Hit Somebody'. Its a hockey movie based off the Warren Zevon song. Too bad 'Goon' probably stole some of its thunder.

I've never actually had the chance to watch the full movie (Mallrats). I know it was on demand a few years ago, but i was only able to watch like half of it. I should buy that somewhere and watch it all.
