WR's generally take a year or two to adjust to the pros and are at high risk of not panning out compared to other positions. There was no offensive savior here. We had a great draft by all accounts. People give us B's because they feel we needed offensive talent, but say we got great value at every pick. No, I don't think upset over Receivers, the top 3 were gone by the time the Ravens picked. Also, 3 Quarterbacks were taken and OJ Howard fell to us. A great TE (Sharpe, Heap) and Running Game is also what the Ravens were known for besides a Great Defense.

There's what we WERE known for, and there's what we are NOW known for. They don't have to be the same thing.

We didn't used to be a team that invested heavily in the QB position. Now we are, and so are all the consistent good teams in this league.

We have a bunch of Tight Ends that were on Injured Reserve last year, Ben Watson 37 in December, Williams and Gilmore. One who is more of a blocking tight end who has been suspended 2 times and one more will be out of the league. Pitta who is one of my favorites but he gets no YAC. Tight End is still very important in the NFL and its not one of the Ravens Strengths as so many people beleive.

If Pitta stays healthy, he is good. He might not get the YAC but he makes contested catches and moves the chains. I like Boyle, he has a chance to be great if he stays out of trouble. I think Williams will end up being a bust and Watson is definitely questionable after an achillies injury, but we shall see. But the one nobody is talking about is Darren Waller. Im pretty high on him. Hes big, hes got decent speed and he can catch. Also if Gillmore stays healthy, he is good too.

I think a combination of Pitta, Gillmore, Waller and Boyle is a good group. Pitta and Waller will be consistent. Gillmore may get hurt and if that trend continues, we may have to cut ties. But I don't see a problem with Pitta, Waller and Boyle (proided he doesn't get suspended)

I will caution you... last year Pitta wasn't moving the chains at all. Not only was he not getting YAC, he also wasn't moving the chains. He had one of the lower percentages of receptions for first downs among the primary pass catchers last season.

Pitta had 86 catches last year and 37 first downs which is 43%. Steve Smith Last year had 70 catches for 39 first downs which is 55% roughly. There isn't much difference between the numbers. Compared to other starting TE's, Charles Clay was 38%, Ryan griffin was 38%, Will Tye 33%, Larry Donnel 20%, Jason Witten 47%, Julious Thomas 50%, Vernon Davis 50%, Jermaine Gresham 51%, Delanie Walker and Zach Ertz 53%. All of these Tight ends did slightly better or worse than Pitta. And in perspective to receivers, Larry Fitzgerald 55%, Edelman 56%, Golden Tate 50%, Jamison Crowder 50%, Tavon Austin 40%. All of these receivers caught at least 50 passes and their percentages aren't much better than Pitta. plus if you watched the games last year, very rarely were the passes to Pitta on target. Many times he had to reach up over his head or make a shoestring catch which hinders your ability tomove after catching the pass.

Pitta did have 37 first downs, which IMO is pretty good for a tight end. There were only 6 tight ends that had more first downs: Greg Olson (54), Jimmy Graham (45), Zach Ertz (42), Kyle Rudolph (50), Jordan Reed (41) and Travis Kelce (55).
And you may notice that there really wasn't mch of a receiving threat other than these tight ends for their respective team, except for Jimmy Graham (Doug Baldwin), Travis Kelce (Jeremy Maclin) and Jordan Reed (Jackson and Garcon). The others were the primary receivers for their teams, especially Rudolph with Bradford just dumping it to running backs and tight ends.

Thanks for the stats, kind of tired of complaints for a TE when it's not that big of a need with all the depth that's there, yes they have been injured before but I'd bet money it don't happen like that again. Doesn't make sense to me to draft a TE in the 1st rd when we have other concerns

Nice try Eisenberg. Taken a player(s) with diluted samples for likely weed is not the same as them taken a Joe Mixon like the Bengals. Bonefied stud who could vastly improve our team.

At some point you must stop punishing the fanbase for Rice situation, afterall Rice has turned into a great citizen.

Rice was pretty much a good guy anyway, just had one bad mistake, he had 0 blemishes before then. Burfict as skilled as he is, wouldn't want him on our team, he's out of control at times. If Tim Williams can stay focus and keep his head on straight, he will be great for us

I don't know where anyone got the idea that Harbaugh has a "dog house". And the Raven under Harbaugh hasn't let any players talent 'wither away". Most player excel when they are with the Ravens and but seem to fade when they leave.

I've seen the term dog house a lot, from people that cover the Ravens. Not sure how much truth is to it, but I don't believe they making it up

Yea Williams just needs to stay out of trouble and work on his game, could be a day 1 starter...Bowser can go under Suggs wing and become his replacement, they can anchor our defense as premier pass rushers. Marlon works on his deep coverage skills he will be a shutdown corner, just need good coaching. Siragusa will be a day 1 starter, think we would be better off putting him at LG, moving Alex to the RT and finding a C. Also Wormley will be a beast too, looked at his tape, he will be a problem

Nico Siragusa is starter material...Dude is a beast, who played every game that he was eligible in college. Look at his stats(or game film), he is not only a piledriver, but extremely durable to boot. I could easily see him starting at LG, and moving Alex Lewis to RT.(remember, Lewis played tackle in college, so not such a big transition for him.) As far as center, I wonder that Mangold and the Raven's don't have a handshake deal that he signs after June 1st. We'll have to wait and see...

I agree, we now should address the C, ILB, and WR....they did sign some undrafted rookies though, maybe they can become gems

Honestly they run the ball 3x after Jones insane catch and they win, total coaching incompetence. 

And for the record I'm not sounding off about building an elite defense, I'm countering the claim that we really tried to build around our QB, the level of effort our FO put towards that initiative is not even close to many other teams. 

I agree there, feel like Ryan could've audibled or something was obvious what the play call should've been....but idk I guess.

As for building around Joe, it was done pretty well before we won the Superbowl.....after that he got his contract, Harbaugh got rid of guys he didn't like, we struck out on some players, and now we are where we are

When the draft ended, I was a little worried about us not picking up a WR, but now I feel pretty good about the team, the defense will be stellar, expecting Top 5, and we will get to see what the young guys can do at WR, it would be cool to get Anquan but I want the young guys to gain experience too. Siragusa will probably fill in to that LG nicely beside Stanley letting move to the RT, just gotta figure out what we are gonna do at C. Also glad we didn't pick up OJ Howard, I just never saw that position as a need.

The Dolphins wanted to sign Brown but he wanted too much money. When the Miami Dolphins think a player is asking for too much, you can bet that he is out of the Ravens price range.

That being said, I hope so much that we can draft Reuben Foster. 

Zach Brown has signed with the Redskins, it would be a blessing if Foster slid to us...but if not im sure we will be fine, Ozzie will think of something

I've always hated how they would go to commercial after a score come back for the kick off then go right back to commercial. They should also think about improving goal line camera views

Wish I lot more players were like Tony Jefferson, many take the money and never come close to winning a Superbowl. Not sure how Jimmy is ranked 41st, he doesn't get beat much and im 100% sure there's not 40 other CB's that played better than he did, when he was on the field

so many people hating on our offense, Flacco best passing year as a pro, we had the lead in how many games in the 4th only to have our DEFENSE blow it.....Yes we lost Wagner, but you have to say he was good when he was in, but has missed more games than i would like from a starter over the last few years...Our left side started with two rooks who more than held their own, and will only be better this year, having gotten so much PT....If anything i just think Center may be the one concern, if Urschel played LG, and move the mammoth Lewis to RT....

Flacco had the 2nd most INT of his career last season, he eclipsed the 4,000 yrd mark finally but it took a ridiculous amount of attempts and his avg per pass was bad too
