The more I see of this guys highlights the more I like him. Very patient and cerebral player who watches what is happening in front of him. Many young guys engage the runner or blocker at the wrong times or in the wrong position, not this guy. I know many are disappointed we didn't get a top safety or lineman, but ILB is also a big need for us.

I do not understand all the hate for picking this guy. ILB is a position where we were getting thin. Time will prove out that this guy is worth the a first round pick.

... and, my fellow Ravens-fans, just think about how much this signing may mean to our young receivers, like Brown, Mellette, Thompson and the ones we may draft in May... If there was something they were missing, it was a real veteran mentor - like Boldin for Torrey. Now they have one. I'm more than sure even Torrey will learn a lot from Steve Smith, just imagine how much the young ones are gonna learn...

Agreed it will be helpful for the young guys to have a veteran, but do you think we will draft  a one or two and if so when? I betting it will be later then most have been saying, my guess is with their third or fourth pick. The other question is what about the holes in the  o line? 

Does anyone know what his cap hit is for the year?

IMHO another vet receiver for the slot would be nice and all but as always I say fix the line first. So if we sign Smith I hope it is on the cheap and we can still go after a top notch FA center.

I am waiting to see if they ever interviewed anyone from the college ranks like Phillip Montgomery. I very much doubt they even gave him a look at this point. I really wanted the fo to go outside of their comfort zone but maybe no.
