probably not with the dolphins at least from what i heard they close on a deal for Albert. rapoport just suggested the raiders go after saffold that not something the raiders said they where doing.
True, the Dolphins seem to like Albert and there were rumors last year that they would trade for him. If the Dolphins are out of it, then I am nervous about Oakland but I think they will want Veldheer. Arizona probably wouldn't be able to pay him as much and maybe they go for Saffold.
Could just as easily be a smokescreen. I think Monroe is going to get a market
Well, I've kind of been posting Teddy pictures in the thread since I traded for the pick
Yeah we knew it was going to happen lol
Already picked, there is a shock lol
Daylight savings time was last night
Now that was a quiet final 5
Sounds good. Glad to have you on board, by the way.
Thanks, pleasure to be here.
Just make sure not to finalize any deals before FreckleNate's 24 hour deadline passes tomorrow.
I won't, everything right now is just for discussion.
I will listen to offers on DeMarco Murray if anyone wants him, I have already gotten a 4th round offer on him and if anyone wants a clear starter at RB who can help your franchise, PM me.
Jeremy Parnell is on the trading block. He is a good backup at OT who is fairly cheap at 2 stars and I would save 1.5 stars by getting rid of him so as the Cowboys, I need to get rid of him. PM me if you are interested.
I think we have a final FA after the draft to finish filling out the rosters.
As for the draft, that would be interesting to see some of these mock drafts going lol, although there is no suspense at the top besides what the picture is going to be.
There's a thread on this in Ravens Talk.
Yeah I see it now, thanks
Jah Reid arrested, charged with two misdemeanor charges of battery in Key West, according to Monroe County Sheriff's office
Another Raven arrested
I honestly thought that the Dolphins were going to snag Johnson when they traded up, and when they grabbed Dion Jordan instead I just laughed. I guess it would have been equal to the Raiders taking DJ Hayden right there.
True lol, everyone was thinking they would and then the Dolphins surprised us all. I guess the really though Martin would be their solution. Funny how that one turned out for them
I think it's weird how they just drafted lane Johnson with the fourth overall pick, but he'll play right tackle. That's really high for a right tackle
I think part of that might have been Vick being Left handed but I don't know.
Only the Eagles and Browns would have otherwise taken him and I heard the Browns had Barkevious Mingo higher on their board, and as much as Chip Kelly would like to have an Oregon duck on his defense he had to go BPA on Oline. Shoot if teams knew how overrated he truly was he might not even be a 1st rounder. He seems to be all athleticism and no strength or skill. And he will probably ride the bench again this year too unless he gets traded.
But then you are assuming none of the other teams would have taken him between those picks, I am not saying it was the right move but I don't think he was going to fall that far. They really should have snatched Johnson up with that pick however. Then we wouldn't need to worry about them getting Monroe in the first place lol
when you trade up in the draft for someone you could have probably traded back to get...
Dion Jordan was not going anywhere near the Dolphins pick last year but I agree with everything else you said
This is not even mentioning how expensive Bennett is going to be.
…how did this turn into a Boldin discussion?
That is a good question lol
That's a good point, too. We stood pat with our receievers and once Pitta got hurt in TC, we were up the river without a paddle. Our offensive weapons in the passing game had been stripped.
This is all true but I was pretty disappointed when I heard that he was traded then more so when I heard it was only for a 6th.
Yeah we definitely need to get our guy this year and hopefully if we can, we can put Boldin behind us on these forums lol
The big issue with that trade was how little we got back.
For essentially a 1 year rental worth 6 mil on the cap at his age, Boldin was not going to get much. Also, I am sure most teams knew that he would be cut from us if we couldn't find a good trade. People get on the Jags for only giving a 4th and 5th rounder for Monroe but they were going to put their guy Joeckel at LT the next year anyways and would have gotten a comp pick back either a 3rd or 4th. They decided they wanted the pick this year as opposed to next year and were able to get 2 picks out of trading him. It is a move that seems perplexing on the outside but is not as bad as people say. Same can be said with Boldin only going for a 6th since I am guessing, the Ravens would not have bought him back at that price anyways so he would have been paid 6 mil to be on the team for a year and then go. The Ravens decided that he was not worth the cap space we needed to rebuild the defense and a pick to get someone else who was younger and we used a 7th rounder on Mellette. Also we didn't see Pitta getting injured so the FO thought that Pitta would be able to step up as that guy in the middle and he did flash that in 2012 as well with some VERY important catches for us in big games. So that is the Boldin and Monroe decisions in a nutshell or at least how I saw the thought process.
Ozzie knows when to pounce on someone and knows when to hold firm. I will trust his judgement that Monroe is not worth 10 mil per for the Ravens and I trust that he has a guy in mind who can replace him. Also who knows what Kubiak is looking for in our LT as well, maybe he has someone in mind who can do just as well for us if not better either later in FA or in the draft.
With our zone scheme under Kubiak, we will probably want a really athletic tackle to help us out now that Monroe is all but gone. I don't know if that really narrows anything down but just a thought.
Don't forget the brilliant move they made on grabbing Mike Wallace.
That too lol
