I think he was trying to show he had no bias when calling the game. Beltre is a good third baseman but he isn't the best.
Yeah that's probably true but he didn't have to take it that far
Dang, that's a really big comparison, I don't know if it was terribly necessary to go to that level describing Beltre and I don't think he is near that level.
I don't think it matters that much. Webb slid into the slot because Graham was much better playing on the outside in 3 CB situations. Webb is more than capable of playing the outside if we go for a pure slot guy.
True but I am almost getting to the point where I consider a good slot corner more valuable than a #2 in nickel situations at least. Maybe if there are only 2 WRs for the offensive formation, we could roll Webb and Smith and move Webb inside on nickel situations for the #2 guy. I mean since teams are moving people around in the slot, I think it would be smart to do the same.
Exactly, players who fits the bill of "right player, right price" will freefall in the next few days. I definitely think we need Graham or a competent replacement at #3 as much as we need a starter at FS, the slot is where offenses do a lot of their damage.
The slot is where the offense does a lot of damage but isn't Webb our slot guy? What we need is a #2 outside guy on the other side of Smith so we can keep Webb in the slot where I think he does best.
well Lions are on the clock and shopping their pick hard
Yeah well at least that is why we have a draft board lol, there are other guys out there to fill the role. Just not as well as Barr could have Yeah Detroit could use a couple more picks so I could see them trading down. It is a deep draft and you have to take advantage of that.
so now we know the player you want to move up to 10 for lol
Well yeah if he falls that far, I wanna go get him lol
Barr just made his front 7 insane. I really like that pick although I wish I could have gotten him, he could have helped turn around my defense.
I think all of Baltimore did
Sorry if I am not completely up to date on it but what did he say?
Nah Deck was a 3rd.
Ah my bad lol although it was late third so close enough. Brian Hartline and Cecil Shorts were 4th rounders however lol
OT Jeremy Parnell is still on the trade block if anyone is interested. 1.5 stars and is a good backup OT with some starting experience. Only 27 as well and has potential on another team(as I have my bookends already
) as a good backup if their guy goes down or possibly a starter at RT.
He's definitely a MIKE, not a WILL.
He played WILL with the Jags I believe and while he was a MIKE in our system, he is not a terribly great run stopper and could fit as a WILL for a 4-3 team.
Yeah Daryl really worries me right now. D'Qwell and Dansby both got a lot more than I thought they would.
I could see a team like Denver take him from us. He is a really good WILL and is great in coverage. I also am not going to stop bringing up that team in DC because he would be a great fit there.
Im pretty sure Brandon Marshall was a 4th rounder too.
Yes he was, as was Eric Decker. What are we trying to prove lol
Yeah I thought Byrd would go high. Monroe shocked me with how cheap he went. We will see what Daryl goes for although it is not looking good for us keeping him.
Imagine Barr with that front 7 however. Darius, Mario Williams, and Peppers. Good luck blocking that
DRE: Mario Williams
DLE: Julius Peppers
DT: Marcell Dareus
Imagine adding Barr to that, although the pick could be used on other guys like Evans or Lewan or maybe CB. A lot of options
Well that's a bummer, I want him back but only at the right price of course.
Don't feel bad, we can get returners for cheap and Beckham could always return kicks if we get him and while JJ is underrated as a WR, we should be able to do better than him as our #2. If we draft Beckham, I would not be terribly dissapointed in letting JJ go considering the fact that a team is going to pay him WR money most likely as opposed to the returner money we are offering him. He is a good player but right player right price.
And I want to Ravens to have him as well. He would be a really nice compliment to Arthur Brown if he gets his act together but he has to earn it.
Just read an article about the Ravens being a potential spot for Steve Smith. We don't need to keep wasting money on 35 year old receivers. We have plenty of talent in the cubbard at receiver in Torrey, Marlon, Streeter, Jacoby, will also have a healthy Pitta..plus whoever they draft.
Spend money on Oline...only after we have that taken care of should we bring in vet receivers. Flacco's knee injury last year was luckily not as bad as it could have been. .and no matter how over paid you think the guy is, we can't win without him. That's a fact.
Streeter is not on the roster anymore and I think another team scooped him up. It also doesn't look like Jacoby will be back since he is getting a lot of interest.
I know I have Brick and Austin Howard on the Tag but if he missed the deadline it would be quite tempting to take Matthews at 8 even though he wasn't who I traded up for.
It would be his loss as well. And Matthews is a really good Tackle.
Imagine if he doesn't come back online until his 24 hours are up and someone snatches Matthews from him. It would be his fault for not being on but that would be some bad luck lol
I wouldn't match it. If a team is willing to give him more, then let them. We'll just take a OT in the draft in the first round and have him under contract for 5 years cheaper than what Monroe would have cost over 5 years.
I don't think another team is going to give him more unless Oakland jumps in the fray at the last second. And I don't think anyone is going to offer him insane money even if it is slightly more than our offer. If he was going to get 10 mil per, someone would have done something by now so it would not be much higher than what we are giving him if it even is higher at all. All current offers from other teams are not much higher if at all because they are not enough to get him to walk. If it is just more, we could match. If it is too high we would let him go. We could make an offer on Mack if he walks. We would have to trade up for anyone of the big tackles worth taking however. I like Martin as well and he could be there and maybe that could be our move however. I don't like that one as much though, a FA Center transitioning to a new scheme is a dangerous signing considering all a Center has to know.
Monroe has not gotten any better offers than what we have given him I would guess and this is his last effort to try to get us to raise our price. I say we hold firm and if anyone else offers what he wants, we tell him to let us know and we will match it
I would have traded for him but he was cut before there was even a chance.
You always have to gauge the trade market before a straight up cut lol. Otherwise, you miss out on a lot of value.

Eh I backed out lol. The value just isn't there for me anymore without Barr. I mean I want to build the defense and there are no good defensive guys rated high enough to take at 10 now besides possibly Gilbert but I am more looking for depth at corner anyways and I can get that later.
