  1. Yeah I have to agree with you there. I am curious as to what Ozzie is doing here but I guess we will find out sooner or later. As for asking price, probably high. We will see what he gets signed for.
  2. Yeah Collins is probably the only one we would have a shot at. I also know what you are saying on Penn, do we really want to go through more or that? We will have to see what Ozzie does.
  3. We can play for Collins or Veldheer maybe but we are competing with Oakland for Veldheer who is loaded on cap space. I don't think they let him go. Collins is unproven still a bit although he will probably hit the market and we could try for him. Albert is an option as well but he will cost a lot and is injured quite a bit so I don't know if he would be worth a big contract. A possibility is if it is not addressed through FA or the draft would be Donald Penn who is battling weight issues in Tampa and could be released if Tampa gets a guy in the draft. Thats about it right now since I don't think we are moving up in the draft with our lack of picks and Ozzie's reluctance to part with picks.
  4. Maybe if this winter were a little bit more mild lol
  5. Hopefully this means a deal is coming but I am not going to be overly optimistic. They know Miami will throw money at him and if not them, someone else. Unless we get a deal soon, he is as good as gone.
  6. Well we have 6 minutes, I will say the tag is not terribly likely at this point.
  7. They love that window seat. They could stare out that window all day, doesn't help that their food bowl is right next to it lol
  8. Lol yeah it is a battle to keep them thin. Nice cats btw
  9. Yes the Grey one is the one that plays with the milk tops all the time lol. They both are fun however lol
  10. Oakland might be dumb but they are not dumb enough to let Veldheer go. I would be shocked if they don't re-sign him with all the cap space that they have.
  11. I got it Thanks for the help
  12. Okay I have the image URL and used the image icon, it is giving me an error for some reason
  13. The attitude lol, she loves to play with those milk tops lol Also how do I post a JPEG file on here?
  14. At a position where teams will overpay for solid, LT is probably the most valuable position on the team with the exception of QB. Monroe is a top 10 LT in his prime while Daryl Smith is a ILB who is falling out of his. Daryl Smith brings intangibles a lot like Lewis did but that is not as important as protecting our investment in Flacco. His blindside is the most important area to protect and Flacco can not take a pounding like he did on that O-line again. But just because an entire unit was bad does not mean that one part can't be good. Oher played pretty bad at RT and the inside of the line with the exception of Yanda was just as bad if not worse. I am not saying Monroe was perfect but he plays a position where teams overpay for solid and Monroe is better than solid. He is the first franchise LT that we have had since Ogden and Ozzie likes Monroe enough that he gave up a 4th and a 5th rounder to obtain him. The fact that Ozzie would let such a player walk in free agency if the price is not completely insane would not be a smart move in my opinion. I get where some people are coming from in saying that he should not be overvalued but he is the most important FA we have and we need to protect our $120 million dollar investment the best way we can. Anybody else wonder what could have been had Flacco not injured his knee? Do we want to let the best QB we have ever had, take another pounding behind a bad line? If not, then we must address the most important position of said line and bring in at least another person as well as let Kubiak do his thing as OC to get this line straightened out. Daryl Smith is important and is underrated even on these threads by some people. I really hope we can find a way to re-sign both he and Monroe. But Daryl Smith's run defense was not great and we have Arthur Brown who could replace his production. We need a solid run stuffer at ILB and while Daryl Smith is very important, his leadership can also be replaced, maybe by a FA FS on a short deal to help our young guys out in the secondary. Who would we get at LT if we lose Monroe? Albert is injured too often to be worth a massive deal and the top 3 tackles in the draft are probably going in the top 10 let alone falling to us. Collins is good on the Bengals but we would have to win a bidding war with whoever else needs a tackle in order to get him and he is still unproven. While Smith is important, I would not put him as more important than Monroe IMO.
  15. Yup that is mine right there lol
  16. I would still put that tag on him in a heartbeat. I have confidence that we could get it done with the tag in place. I think both sides want to get the deal done and I think with the tag in place both sides would hammer it out. It would be ideal to get it done before the tag deadline but if we don't tag him, we will probably lose him.
  17. Clady got paid 57.5 over 5 years for Denver last year so trust me, someone will pay for Monroe if it isn't us. Even last year he would have gotten paid by someone. Frankly, I could see Monroe get 10 mil per, the question is going to be if we are willing to pay him that or is someone else going to? And I see us paying him because he is going to be that important to us unless someone pays an insane amount like the Dolphins might.
  18. So basically when the Falcco contract gets too big, the cap will have increased enough for us to be able to handle it. Good news. Now instead of putting around 1/6 of our cap for Flacco, it is going to be around 1/7.5 which is a big difference. The math is not nearly exact but I don't feel like getting any deeper than that for now. Maybe if I get some time.
  19. Yeah they have dropped off the premier league it seems.
  20. True, then double dip in the draft at TE?
  21. True, I like a lot of the TEs in the draft but I like most of them as blockers more except the first round guys. Either way, I really really really don't want to count on a rookie LT so we need to either keep Monroe or get a good FA LT. The question is who else? Albert is good but he is injury prone, the Raiders are more than likely going to re-sign their guy, Collins on the Bengals is good but he is unproven.
  22. We need to get that Pitta deal done then and tag Monroe. Then we can use the tag to negotiate a deal but he is too important to let go at this point.
  23. Either sign Monroe or tag him with the cap being this high. I will say however that Ozzie likes to be more conservative with his money. I would not expect huge splashes although we could get some nice deals later on. Maybe we can keep Graham now?
  24. I have to agree with you here. I know WR is a need but without an O-line, it doesn't matter if you have Jerry Rice and Randy Moss back there, the QB won't have any time to throw it and it won't matter.
