  1. I agree. I don't think he is the 15th best player of all time, I say he is in the 20-30 range. But, if we are building a team, their is no denying his overall game. Him alongside Hakeem is a pretty damn good duo in my opinion, and I don't believe Pippen would've been available at my next pick.

You're building the kind of team I had initially envisioned for myself had things fallen differently. Lockdown defenders who are still very dangerous on the other end, not to mention proven winners. Solid building blocks for sure, and you are certainly correct that he wouldn't be there at pick 30.

  2. Pippen is a great player, but I'm not sure he's the 15th greatest player of all time.

Maybe not, but if he wanted him on his team he had to pick him now. I doubt he would have lasted until 30.  Also, look at his first two players. He's building a roster that will be very hard to score on with two all-time defenders. And you gotta give him props for posting a pic of his player posterizing the player selected just before him.

  3. That's the majority of my guilty pleasures, nostalgia picks. Ofcourse I was 21 when Pootie Tang came out, so no excuses there.

Oh I am ashamed. It holds nothing on the original ofcourse. But you know how sometimes you watch a bad movie in the perfect mindset and you enjoy it? The acting, the script, everything was pretty bad in it. But for some reason I found it fun on my original watch.

Speaking of horror, and good newer horror flicks I should have on my radar (looking for lesser known late 2013 or 2014)? Gearing up for my Fall Horrorfest.

I've been falling behind lately on the newer film front. I have Chastity Bites on my DVR. Looking forward to that, and my eyes and ears are primed for news of an opportunity to see Life After Beth anytime soon. One of my favorite B-flicks from recent years that I saw a few weeks ago is Cockneys vs Zombies. There are some superbly classic scenes in that one.

  4. I have to say that the run before my first pick was kind of expected, but the picks that have happened since are killing my board. I'm already down to two left on my short list for my second pick, and there are still two picks to go before me. Solid choices being made all around. Where are the lousy reachers?

  5. I feel like there is an under appreciation of the older generation of players. Bill Russel and Wilt Chamberlain would give our big men hell. You kidding yourself if you think other wise. Sure our players now are better athletes, but they knew how to play basketball back then. Tim Duncan is a prime example of a big time player knowing how to play the game without having killer athleticism.

Shhhh. Party foul mentioning players who haven't been drafted, yet. All kidding aside, you make a great point. The thing is that bigs aren't developed today the way they used to. People are looking for speed and three point shooting and people who can spread the floor and push the tempo. It's almost like people get blindsided when a big comes along and dominates these days. Look at what's happening right now in New Orleans. There might be a player down there right now who would be drafted in one of these things 15 years from now.

  6. Trouble with that concept is that really dominant ones you can build around show up every 10 years or so

Nowadays, sure, but that certainly wasn't the case historically. As recently as the 90s you could have made the argument that half of the top ten players in the league were centers. That was the norm up until this century. Once there was an entire generation of players raised with a three point line, things were bound to change. The floor spacing and jump shooting emphasis make it too hard for bigs to take over anymore.

  8. Between Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain, any of the three could've been selected after the first selection and that selection would've been warranted.

This whole post, which I cut down to save space, is great. There are so many positives for all these guys that arguing for your guy is so easy and very effective. Arguing AGAINST any of these guys is unnecessary and causes you to lack credibility. If you like Russel or Alcinder better, tell me why they're great. Don't make a fool of yourself by trying to act like Wilt or anyone else drafted in this thing is not.
