  1. That was cool to read. I like seeing another person's thought process spelled out, even if I disagree. I actually think there isn't much I find too disagreeable.

I do think we try to find a place to keep Judon, perhaps at the expense of one of the Browns (Daniel, Arthur). If Arthur isn't going to contribute this season, his last under contract, I see little reason for us to keep him beyond preseason. Daniel might just be stuck in a position that is getting too crowded that we must make some tough decisions.

I also agree with the Clay/Reynolds/Campanaro competition. I do think we want to still give Camp every opportunity to win that battle. If he's healthy this summer, I think he has the edge there, and one or both of the others we will try and stash away someway or another.

Your thoughts are fairly common, moreso than you may think around here. And I don't get it. Let's look at the last five years:

2015:  Obviously, far too soon to make any sort of judgment. It did show a lot of promise and depth though, and that's before we factor in the great unknown, Perriman.

2014: We landed Mosley, Jernigan and Gillmore. That is excellent. Not to mention, that list may be twice as long if it weren't for injuries to Urban, Taliaferro and Campanaro.

2013: We completely crapped the bed with Elam and Brown, and yet we still saved that class by landing B Williams, Wagner and Juice. All in all, hard to complain about getting three starters when most teams are happy to get one or two.

2012: Awful, I will give you that one. Osemeli, and little else.

2011: Jimmy, Torrey, McPhee and Tyrod. Outstanding again.

Like I said, I don't get it. How many other teams produced that type of quality during that span?

    --- Edit ---

I got curious and reviewed every single draft we have ever had. Do you realize, we have been FAR better with our drafts since the Harbaugh era than what we were before it? Really, go back and look at the years 2000 - 2007. We seemed to pick one stud, and a bunch of scrubs, nearly every year. We'd get one, maybe two quality starters each year. But that one stud we got each year was guys like Jamal, Reed, Suggs and Ngata, so at least there's that.

Not bad classes you mentioned, especially where we were drafting due to massive success we had with multiple deep playoff runs, which I guess many think we managed in spite of poor player management?..

Good data, thanks for looking it up.

This year could be a bit different because there's five of them.  But yeah, I'd say we're on the right track that most of them will be around.

Just pointing out that his data is for all teams, not just ours, so there are 32+ every season, and only three the past three years failed to make their teams' respective rosters.

Reynolds only needs to catch a short pass and he will be a terror to the opponents' secondary.  Watch some Navy tape from the past 3 seasons and you will see a redzone and 3rd down threat.

I'm so glad we drafted him and didn't give NE a chance to sign him later and give strokes to all their opponents' defensive coordinators for years.

Alright so then we shouldn't even question him making it because we can shelve him away and won't have to worry about another team snagging him. I think that means they are giving Campanaro two more seasons to see what he can do and then they will see what Keenan can do. I am excited to see what he can do down the road for us.

There's a player on NE (long snapper) that is serving his two years AND playing at the same time. He has to drive to his station after practice everyday to make it work. Reynolds will likely hope for the same opportunity and to be stationed somewhere near Baltimore (lot of options there).

I think of the fourth round guys Tayvon Young has the best opportunity to start. I am basing that more on current roster weaknesses as opposed to his strengths.
We have excessive depth at RB so I am not sure where Dixon falls on that list.  It would not surprise me to see him fall to PS, but he could just as easily be active roster, but I don't see him taking the start from Forsette.

I know I knock people all the time for saying this about players because it isn't common for most rookie draftees to get scooped up after release before we can sign the on the PS, but there is no way Dixon would make it to the PS if he gets cut. He'd be on another roster somewhere for sure.

  7. I think all the fourths have a really good chance. Moore and Lewis are candidates for weekly healthy inactives, in my eyes, until injury/performance forces an opening.

Reynolds is hard to figure. He has a shot at becoming our kick returner if he proves valuable enough on special teams in general.

Judon and Ochi will be in a battle for an active/inactive spot near the bottom of the 53 until inevitable (hopefully short-term) injuries give them a chance to rotate in.

Canady is likely looking for a PS spot, at best, along with the vast majority of the UDFAs.

People's lives are over. Their lives are ruined because Ozzie Newsome isn't doing what they want.

My favorite was reading all the word play on Correa's name. That and the simple "nope" that was posted after our pick.

Crap, gotta post and read more now that Alexander is gone.

Jacksonville has done so well with acquiring talent lately.  I think this is finally the year it starts translating into wins.

Arguably the top two defenders in the entire draft. I still can't believe that's a possibility. That's like one of the wacky scenarios I would think up for the "dream draft" thread.
