  1. I am willing to give Perriman a pass, but if he doesn't step on the field this upcoming season then I will agree that he was a wasted pick. I am not a doctor so I won't pretend to analyze the extent of his injury, but I do wonder why the FO and Harbaugh were being so cryptic in the reports of his progress (or lack there of) all last season.
  2. I guess I am one of those naive fans, I wouldn't even think that benching Joe in favor of Mallett a good idea. Joe isn't perfect, but he is a very good QB and I am glad he is our starter. I think some are forgetting how hard it is to find a franchise QB in this league and I for one think we have ours for years to come. He still has one of the best playoff records in the league, 10 wins to 4 losses, and 7 road wins. Not too shabby...
  3. Don't think so, he has predicted the player position we have needed before but not sure he has accurately called the actual player name before. I am more concerned that we make this draft count this coming season, we need help in so many areas (WR, CB, S, DE, LB, etc...) and we can't whiff on as many as we have in the past 3 years. It would be sweet if we landed Treadwell at #6, maybe some of the teams in front of us will go with a QB pick and he will still be on the board (keeping fingers crossed). I am not discounting Permian yet, but he at least needs to hit the playing field in 2016, and I think our young group of TEs are going to be a nice offensive option for Joe next season. Go RAVENS!
  4. I don't think getting rid of Harbs is the answer, who else is available that has a better track record than him? The 49ers made the mistake off running of the other Harbaugh and they are much worse off because of it. I think that this year’s train wreck of a season has a bunch of contributing factors (injuries, losing players to FA, lack of depth at key positions, 4th OC in 5 years, no big playmakers on offence, etc...) and cannot be attributed to just the HC. I agree that we started on a bit of a downturn after the SB win, but we lost a lot of players to free agency because of that success. I think the FO just needs to be better focused and prepared for the next draft and come off the money and sign some key FA if possibly. Looking forward to next year! Go Ravens!
  5. Exactly! Where is the running game this year? Trestman isn't cutting it as a OC and it's time for him to go. Granted we are not playing with many weapons this season, but if you abandon the run game and become so unbalanced on offense then you are going to get what we have, a 2-7 record.
  6. I have to agree with Eisenberg’s article, but here are my Five Thoughts vs. the Jags. What happened to the run game, only 14 times for Forsett to get the ball? Trestman needs to go, let’s get a real OC that isn’t a recently fired HC and one that can produce a balanced game plan. Our secondary is pathetic, more dropped INTs and letting another team get big pass plays again. I am hoping we can fix this problem in the draft since we will be on the clock soon. What’s up with all the penalties? They are killing us and stalling drives on the offensive side and extending them on the defensive side. This falls on the HC and staff, this needs to be cleaned up now because we aren’t the Raiders…LOL! Joe makes too many mistakes in a game that we could have easily won. I am a Flacco fan and I am grateful that he is a Raven, but he is either pressing too hard or our OC just isn’t putting the team in good plays to be successful. Probably a combination of both. The one bright spot is our TEs, they are continuing to improve and I think we will have a dangerous weapon at that position for some time. I would love to see Pitta return, but I think he should seriously consider retiring and not risk any more injury to his hip. I am sure that my disappointment and shock to where we are so far this season is shared amongst most Ravens fans, but it is depressing to know that we will not be making the playoffs and probably finishing no better than 5-11. I still love the Purple & Black and support the Ravens, I just want this nightmare season to be over and pray that Ozzie and company can fix this thing before next season starts. Go Ravens!
  7. I would love to see the Ravens sign Jeffries or another FA WR, possibly Roddy White or Percy Harvin. I think our TE corps will be very good next season as well, but as far as Pierrman goes I think he may end up being a bust. True we won't know until he hits the field, but I am a little concerned about his durability and desire to play already. Looking forward to a brighter season next year and hopefully Joe will restructure and free up some cash to get some reliable weapons on offense. Go Ravens!!
  8. I totally agree with you, if Ray's wife was able to forgive him and give him a 2nd chance then the NFL should as well. I think Ray made a horrific mistake in punching out his then finance and should have never laid a hand on her, but he shouldn't be black balled by the league just because there was a video of the incident. I wonder how many of the hypocritical NFL owners and GM's would have kept AP and Hardy is there was video evidence of their discretions? I love watching the games and playing in several fantasy leagues, but I too think it’s deplorable that the NFL dresses players in pink thinking that is enough to show support for domestic violence victims. On another note, it is also pretty sad that the NFL is clamming its honoring veterans but they are not footing the bill for all the displays and camo gear being worn on the sidelines, the DOD is!
  9. Nice to see the Ravens in the win column again, but losing SSS was another sucker punch to the gut. I wish Steve well and will respect whatever decision he makes on whether to come back for one more year or retire. You hate to see such a competitor go out that way, I for one hope he decides to come back and give it one more try. Looks like it’s time to take of the training wheels for the rest of the WR corps, next man up and show us what you guys are made of. Keeping my fingers crossed that someone will step up and take flight and become a reliable receiver. Go Ravens!
  10. Lack of playmakers, that is the understatement of the century, LOL! I still think we have a lot of potential on the roster at TE and I still think Forsett is very serviceable at RB, but yes we need some ballers on the team and so far we have whiffed in the last few drafts trying to find one. I also think our biggest issue on the offensive side is that we have had no consistency with the OCs, we are on the 4th in the last 5 or so years. We need to stop going after a recently fired HC’s and either promote from within or find a true OC that is willing to be one for more than one or two seasons. The trouble with hiring former HC's is that if they do well (which has been the case, except this season) they are looking to jump back into a HC position. Let's hope the FO can fix this issue and evaluate the deeper ends of our roster and come up with a plan (either drafting or free agency) to get this team back where it belongs, winning games & making the playoffs! Go Ravens!
  11. I have to agree, I don't think the Ravens will win more than 3-4 games this year and playing at home is probably not going to turn thing around much. I do think if Suggs was playing we would be 5-2 or 4-3, his presence on the field would make a difference. I know that all the articles lately keep stating that we could have a much better record if we made a play or two, but that is what good teams do and right now we are not that good. We have been decimated by injuries and somewhat by our past success by having to let player after player leave for more money elsewhere. I would really like to see someone step up and become a leader on the team and have this team play with some heart.
  12. 32 It's hard to believe they have one victory. That's incredible. 1(31) Week #8 Power Ranking from CBS are out, the Ravens are ranked dead last! Wow, never thought I would see that ever. Let's hope things start getting better, maybe a coaching change (DC or OC) or someone on the current roster starts playing like a Raven!
  13. Like you avatar picture, nice to see I am not the only Raven's fan that was a submariner. Go Navy and Go Ravens!
  14. Okay, Joe did throw an ugly interception on the last drive last night and yes he has made a bad decision in the others as well. But if it wasn't for him, we would never been in any of these games to begin with and the defense has failed to shut down the opposing team at least twice this year late in games. I too get frustrated with Flacco's ill-timed mistakes, but he is a great QB and I am glad he is a Raven. Some of the picks this season are clearly on him, but there have been many times when our receivers have either dropped the ball or ran the wrong routes. There is a lot of blame to go around on the team, coaches, and front office for the poor season we are having, don't think that Joe is the primary reason we are 1-6. Go Ravens and keep the faith!
  15. Very well said! I agree with all your comments, especially about Flacco keeping us in these games with a chance to win or tie at the end of everyone. If you think about what Joe has had to work with over the years he should be given even more credit for the playoff wins and SB title, he has never had the luxury of having multiple play-makers like Brady, Manning, and Rodgers have had on their teams. It's also worth pointing out that Joe has had 4 OCs in the last 5-6 years, it can't be easy for an offense to having adjust to new offensive schemes and philosophies each season. Lets hope this team starts gelling and can build a younger core of players for years to come, and possibly find an identity on defense once again. Go ravens!
