Or maybe Elflein or Dorian Johnson in the 3rd and you play them next to Mangold for a year or two and kick Elf into C later and Lewis plays RT. Either way I think we're one drafted player from being set on the OL. Jordan Morgan might even be a 4th/5th rd option that can step in Day 1 at LG or RT and give us an upgrade.
...
First off. Bold. I like you, I really do. You're a great poster. And I actually agree with your first point. I think Mangold is a good move. Drafting a potential replacement is also smart. I also want Lewis to play RT. He really wasn't good at guard at all. But frankly. We need an oline. I know fans are hellbent on WRs... But that's not our problem. We don't only need to protect Joe, we need a line to get the run game going. I swear to god, if we do anything less than draft a good olinemen in the second round tomorrow, I'm going to go to the back of Boulder and sing to the high heavens as I die of alcohol poisoning.
I hate Ozzie's plan for the oline. In fact, it sucks. I hope to hell we trade up for Lamp, or hell I'll take his man crush Robinson. We need good play on the oline more than ANYTHING. I like the defense going forward, and I think there are potential sleepers at the WR position in the third round that no one is considering. BUt I would like to see us draft multiple olinemen in this draft. I hate Nembot(even though he's a Colorado boy... Sko Buffs), and I don't trust Wesley. We don't have a center, and Lewis honestly was terrible at LG.
I don't give two damns about the WR. Perriman should improve, and I think Maxx is going to surprise some people. Wallace still has his speed and I think we could find a guy later on.
I'm sorry. I don't like the way this draft is going so far... And I LIKE Humphrey as a prospect. The offense needs work.
Ozzie Newsome needs to realize that Flacco isn't freaking superman. He can't carry the team on his back alone. He needs to stop neglecting the damn offense like he always does. For the love of god.
I've had it up to here with him personally. I think he's gone next year and we clean house.

He's freakishly athletic yes, but not a good player. 0 motor, no passion, not a good technician. I wouldn't touch him until the fifth.

Round Three Players to Watch

Then Take OJ Howard, or David Njoku. Or something along the lines of it! There was better value on the board! We need playmakers.
I'm more pissed off than anything that we YET AGAIN Neglect the offensive side of the ball. Joe isn't superman. He needs help. Mainly on the oline.

I have to admit. Robinson in round two isn't a terrible pick. In round one I would have probably killed someone. Or have been "fed up with this world".
If we go Malik McDowell..... It'll be worse than Robinson. I don't get everyone's obsession with him. He sucks. Sorry.
Just now, redrum52 said:Ozzie can draft DL. Not many chances we get to select a top CB.
When you get a guy who is as talented as Allen, I don't give a damn what position he plays. Allen is a future difference maker who provides interior pressure. And this is a deep CB class.
Seriously. Words cannot describe how awful the value was. This isn't Ronnie Stanley, who was an elite prospect anyway regardless of what people though. Humphrey is a good prospect, but Allen was in our laps and we let him slide. And he's gonna make us regret it.
So. I've let the pick sit... I'm doing draft grades. I'm going to be honest.
I hate this pick. But I do not hate Marlon Humphrey .
Marlon does a lot of things well. He's very good at breaking on the ball, he's got good instincts. He's a very good player. He was third rated corner, and frankly, I think he has a higher floor than most give him credit for. I think when Jimmy goes down, Humphrey becomes invaluable depth. I eventually think that by mid-season he could be a good starter. He's got a lot of things that I like. Likewise, he could eventually play safety since he's better going towards the ball than he is backpedalling. Overall. Marlon isn't the issue for me.
My issue is passing up on Jonathan Allen. What the hell were we thinking? We trade away a damn good interior rusher when he was on his A game and have one fall right into our laps and we pass on him. Even with those shoulders, I do not understand that.
Don't get me wrong. Marlon is more likely than not to become a good player in my eyes. But my god. Freaking Allen was there. Smh Ozzie. What are you doing?
overall player grade: B. I think that by mid-season Humphrey gets the starting gig and does a good job.
Overall Grade: F. You get a bonafida stud and pass on him. What was Ozzie thinking?

NO! JUST NO. Not gonna happen. Not at all. No thanks. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. nope
Trade up for Lamp
DAMNIT. Hell of a pick.

Just now, The Raven said:Has it occurred to anyone that this guy might actually be a good addition or is everyone just pissed that they weren't original enough to pick him in their mock? I can't help but think people are just pissed because nobody saw it coming.
I'm not pissed because I actually think he could be a solid to good pro.
I'm pissed because Jonathan Allen and OJ Howard were on the board. I loved both of their tapes.
1 minute ago, 52520Andrew said:Newsome said that Humphrey was "by far" the best guy on their board.
Oh.... I so want to go off on this.
I'm gonna root for you Humphrey...
But I'm not too confident you turn into a difference maker immediately.
WIth Jonathan Allen on the board?
Ozzie.. I'm not as mad as I would be if we took Cam... But I ain't happy either.
Just no Cam. He's not even the third best Alabama guy available.
Time to take Jonathan Allen
And that solidifies our pick of Cam Robinson
Hey Browns. Please don't take Hooker.

There are ways to cover guys like him. I also don't think he's a good fit with Dalton. If he were with Ben, that'd be differnt
I'm not afraid of Ross.

I'd actually like him. only Bama prospect I didn't like this year was Robinson in the first. But in the second that's a good pick. That said, I'd hate it cause of the character concerns.
