Savage Goodell.
wait, he sucks

i do
As do I. You mean the great and powerful Sami was wrong?
I've lost all hope for humanity.
In spite of last night being a good night for the Browns, they still are actively searching for ways to lose.

I said they should've let both of them walk. With the change in rules, we need power on the OL and that's not Wagner's game. Would've loved to scoop Pryor, though for the cash we used on Williams. I won't say he's overrated.

As bad as the secondary was towards the end. The pass rush did just as much damage. We were blitzing against pittsburgh on the final drive and we couldn't get stuff done. We need an edge rusher more than anything on defense right now, and olinemen to fill the two holes on the interior.
3 minutes ago, redrum52 said:Wasn't Allen regarded as a top 3 pick before the draft? We were also praised I think for the Elam pick when it was made. None of this stuff matters until they're on the field. I like him cause he's physical, fast and has size. Great on short passes and screen as well. You know who loves to run screens? Pats and Steelers. Short routes? Pats. I think they knew what they had in mind when making the decision. Marlon, Tavon and Tony should give us a nice young core in secondary.
I honestly want to see Ben sandwhiched between Tony and Marlon when he tries to do one of his scrambles against us.

Not gonna lie. This is something I would do.
6 minutes ago, redrum52 said:I wanted Howard, but realistically, adding another TE wasn't necessary. All the WR were gone and it was too early to OL. CB was more important than DL and he's only 20.
I also didn't want Allen. Yea. I said it.
He hasn't really neglected the offense either. It may seem like it this off season, but was Wagner worth that money? No way Juice was staying. Still plenty of draft left and I highly doubt we don't scoop up any linemen. I don't think anyone saw the Wrs all going in the top 10 either. Also, everytime our first pick is a Alabama defender we make a deep playoff run. So there goes that.

Coincidence? I think not lol. Like I said though, I like Humphrey. He's probably going to be a good player.
That said, I honestly would have rather gotten Warford at this point and kicked Lewis out to tackle. My big fear is that our plan is to neglect the oline entirely and pick up Mangold and Vollmer. I don't like the in house replacements, and I am not too confident in our weapons.
Howard is gonna be a special player though. I hope we can take my boys(Cooper Kupp and Jake Butt) but we need to fix that line first. I hope Lamp or Robinson fall(and Robinson is not a bad pick in the second).
Just now, redrum52 said:I just wanna ask why people say a physical CB isn't a "sexy" pick?
OJ Howard and Jonathan Allen were there. And Ozzie continues to neglect the offensive side of the ball...Again...
I like Humphrey but would have rather done something along the lines of the above.
1 minute ago, BmoreBird22 said:He didn't post about Elam until into the 2014 season, I'm pretty sure.
Just wanted to say I'm sorry for last night.
i have a headache now. Smh
Just now, The Mom Gene said:NOPE... I called Perriman.
I also believe this guy is a Raven style player. Could be one of the better corners in the league. I mean whoda thought that Tavon Young was going to come out and play like he did last season... I'm sorry... what round was he picked again?????
WHY DOES ANYONE BOTHER?
He's the resident pessimist. I'm not the biggest fan of the pick either but there's a good player there.

Oh, and you all are homers!

So what you're saying is?
No one fights like Humphrey
No one bites like Humphrey
No one blows up screens and breaks up like Humphrey
For there's no man in town half as awesome?
As a scheme fit he's a paragon
You can ask BmoreBird22 and rmw.
And they'll tell you who's team they'd prefer he'd be on?
1 minute ago, BmoreBird22 said:I was joking.
I actually felt like Humphrey was the pick all the way in February because the Ravens raved about him at the Senior Bowl.
Corner? Alabama? First round talent? All the stars aligned.
I actually thought we would wait until later and draft corner personally. I still would have rather taken Allen, but all in all Humphrey is very good when closing in on the ball and when the ball is in front of him. If he was the worst pick in this draft. Then we are in for a hell of a draft
9 minutes ago, The Raven said:Hoping for a pass rusher and two olinemen in the next three. I'm really hoping for that guy Pat Elflein. Don't think we could pull him and Lamp, but that'd be my pipe dream.
If we pulled Lamp and Elflein... I have no words as to how excited I'd be. Our interior would be set for the next half decade and the running game.....
Just now, BmoreBird22 said:He knows he's my boi. When I met him after a game, I let him know.
Nah. I get it. You're stoked about Humphrey. No shame in that.
As much as I trashed the pick last night. It cam.. I mean could have been so much worse.
Just fwiw though. You got your W. Now Ozzie needs to draft Butt and give me mine
1 minute ago, BmoreBird22 said:You know what? When I get home, Humphrey it is.
But Jimmy is your boy? How is he gonna feel?
I'm pounding my fist on the table for Cooper Kupp... and Jake Butt of course, but I doubt we draft the latter.
Not because SSR pointed him out. Kupp has been one of my boys since the beginning of the year. He plays tough like a Raven, is deceptively good after the catch, and has good hands, and is a good route runner.
As worried as I am about our line. If Kupp is there at 47, I'll jump for joy
For what it's worth. I think/hope we take another corner in the middle of the draft(a Kazee type). When Jimmy goes down we could use all the help we could get.
5 minutes ago, PuRock said:I agree, I think Humphrey projects well as a safety. He does have the speed to play corner but he plays much better with the ball in front of him. Still a silly secondary right now.
Edge class is deep. Especially with pass rush specialists. Good options at guard as well. Tons of good DBs too.
You know. If we took a Fabian moreau, Chidobe Awuzie, or Quincy Wilson type tomorrow in round 2 I wouldn't be surprised or angry to be honest. Sadly with Jimmy being as injury prone as it is, it'd make sense to double dip.
Also do something underrated that no one has really talked about. I'm pretty sure we've struggled against screens for a few of the past few seasons and Humphrey can defend against those like it's nobody's business.
"Hes also really gonna need safety help because of his lack of skills in zone."
Gee. If only we didn't have three top 15 ranked safeties to help up press
Seriously. If we get a pass rusher there's a decent chance we have a top 3 defense
1 minute ago, PuRock said:This must have been Ozzie's wet dream. The best players on the board were all 'Bama guys.
But count me in as another one that likes Humphrey as a player, but didn't like the value we passed up. I am typically one who hates drafting head cases and prefer clean guys, but Foster was an elite talent in this draft. Jonathan Allen was a difference maker. There was also a top flight playmaker in Howard still on the board.
I'm of course Humphrey lights it up. His tendency to get beat and lack of ball skills leaves you wanting a bit more.
I wouldn't say lack of ball skills in totality. I actually think that when Weddle and Webb leave/hang it up they Humphrey could do a damn good job playing S because of how good he is with the ball in front of him.
And honestly given how Carr has been straight up torched in the past(I'm hoping that Carr from last season shows up), wouldn't surprise me if Humphrey has an iron fist(not the crappy show) on the starting job.
Im not gonna lie. If Jonathan Allen and OJ Howard weren't there. You probably wouldn't have heard a peep from me. Sorry for being angry y'all...
That said, going into next year it's more likely than not we have a good CB trio
Jimmy
Humphrey
Young
Three corners that can play the outside very well? I'll happily take that.
Im very worried about the pass rush though. But this is a good edge class.
58 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:Honestly I'd kick Yanda to RT and put Lamp at RG and draft Elfein for center and leave Lewis if that's the plan
I've been thinking about if they'd want to move Lamp to center like the Bears did with Whitehair last year. Which is a move that makes a lot of sense imo. I do think Lamp should play somewhere along the interior, even though he could hack it at tackle if we became desperate similar to a JC Tretter(who quietly has been a very good olinemen and has had to play LT). If we take Lamp I could honestly see us taking Nico siragusa or something later and us putting Lamp at C.
As good as Yanda has played at RT in the past, I'd hope we would continue to play him at the position he's probably going into the hall of fame for lol.
4 hours ago, BmoreBird22 said:Not gonna lie, you're as bad as Sami with overreactions
Maybe with this pick lol. But at least I like Humphrey going forward. I do think he's a starter by mid season and an effective one. Just hated the value there with guys like Allen on the board. That's all. Long-term this is solid.
Im pissed off. But I'm standing by the team here
