Certainly appears at this point that it will be hard to get Gilmore off the field as he has value in passing and running situations. Lining him up will provide no clue as to the play call. The rookies will provide great depth at the very least. Just doesn't seem possible we will see Pita this year.
If history is any guide we won't know about Yanda's future until later this summer. In any event he is locked up for this season. It will basically come down to Yanda's decision to either remain a Raven for life... or go for the last possible dollar. If it's the latter, plan "B" will be to extend KO and groom a more economic option at RG. That's what Ozzie does.
The "D" will be fine without Ngata. He played best in contract years and had the Ravens gotten an extension there is no guarantee what level of effort we would have seen. The guys we have are young and hungry... they will be just fine.
Too bad Smith spent all those years in Carolina where he didn't get the appreciation he would have had in B-more.
Pretty much everybody liked this draft a lot... except Mike Preston.
Offensive linemen typically are your more intelligent football players... but this takes it to a new level. Let's hope we can keep him beyond his rookie contract.
It appears that the FO has decided that the big problem last year with the OL was at center and they have fixed that. I'm also guessing that they feel Wagner is good to go. With KO coming back they will get another boost. If all that is correct we still have an appalling lack of depth on the OL and are one injury away from disaster. I hope Ozzy has this figured out... because it's unclear to me at this point that the OL is anything close to fixed.
Jernigan seems like a strong pick... especially with Nagta's steady decline and 16M cap hit. It looks like they have his replacement when the time comes be that next year or the year after. I'm still trying to figure out the Mosley pick. I for one put some credence in the theory that the many busts coming out of Alabama are the result of Saban's excellent coaching techniques and system making his players appear much stronger than they actually are when they reach the NFL.
Hope he works out better than McClain. McClain was drafted even higher in the first round and all the same good things were said about him. He won't help the team much this year, barring injury, but could work well in the long run.
D. Smith still in limbo... would be a big loss.
Ryan... Pharoh raises a good question... losing D. smith would leave a big void at ILB? Any word on those negotiations?
I am hoping we throw a wide net... there are probably a number of sharp offensive minds at the college level. Let's not put the blinders on yet.

It certainly appears the "D" will be tough this year... let's hope we see the results against Denver on September 13th. I would really like to see a "W" for a lot of reasons in this one... including the previous O.C. who said he was staying in B-more one day and left the next.
