  1. Lots of talk about getting rid of Harbs... think for a minute... you can't blame him for poor draft picks, poor personnel decisions, inflated contracts and poor QB play. He does as well as anyone could with the team they give him.
  2. The FO will have a tough off season trying to put a winner on the field. First and foremost they have to deal with Joe's huge salary cap number. He has the highest salary of any NFL QB, when averaged over the life of the contract... per the Cheat sheet. PFF has him ranked as the 25th QB (it will probably go down a bit after today's performance). Secondly the Ravens now have a track record of whiffing in he early rounds of the draft. If both trends continue it's hard to see how they can be overcome for next season.
  3. kudos to Dennis for the grit and determination to come back from two of the worst injuries I have seen in pro football. Joe... not so much. If he has any real interest in winning he does a pretty good job of camouflaging it. I think his jolly demeanor, laughing it up with Ben, as the Ravens were leaving the field in Pittsburg last week says it all.
  4. He was the best of the old breed. The NFL won't be the same without him. Camp... pay attention to this guy.
  5. Does the writer remind anyone else of Baghdad Bob?
  6. Never saw a player with more grit and determination.
  7. It will be tough working around Joe's salary cap number. The highest salary of any NFL QB when averaged over the life of the contract (per the Cheat sheet)... for the 25th rated QB per PFF. If they can navigate that obstacle then Ozzie will have earned his money.
  8. I'm as disappointed as anyone but it's hard to blame Harbs for poor draft picks, unwise signings, inflated contracts and poor QB play. He does what he can with the team he is provided with.
  9. You are either living in the distant past or drinking way too much purple cool aid.
  10. The Raven's biggest off-season need is for Mr. B to take a hard look at this organization... especially the FO.
  11. It's win or go home... pretty simple.
  12. That's every team. 90% of ALL players drafted after pick #45 are BUSTS. You forget the Ravens drafted 6th... that makes them at #38 for their second round pick. There was incredible talent available at #38. Ozzie traded back and got still him at #42.
  13. Wonder how the game turned out in his dream?
  14. So you think we got adequate help and there is not a significant drop-off in ability when Jimmy goes down?
  15. Too bad the FO failed to address this obvious need over the off season. Jimmy Smith has been injury prone for his entire career and we didn't get adequate help to offset the drop-off in talent when he suffers one of his frequent injuries.
  16. Stanley is the least of our concerns... top two things to worry about are the lack of Jimmy Smith and how many Flacco turnovers we are likely to suffer.
  17. If Jimmy Smith misses this game (or is playing hurt) our chances diminish significantly. Either way we need to bolster our CB position over the off-season. Smith has proven injury prone his entire career and there is a big drop-off when he isn't healthy. It seems like the FO should have done this over the prior off-season.
  18. He's right about Jimmy Smith... need him healthy for this one.
  19. You pretty much summed things up. We can still hope that playing Pittsburgh will wake us up... but I'm certainly not going to bet on it based on what I watched today.
  20. Is there any way to get out from under Joe's mega contract? A trade maybe?
  21. Joe's usual two turnovers... resulting in both Philly scores.
  22. Actually Joe has the highest contract averaged per year of any NFL QB... per the Cheat Sheet. Anyone out there think Joe is anywhere near playing up to his contract?
  23. If Joe had even a small fraction of Steve Smith's desire to win the Ravens would be a different team.
