  1. I fear we will live to regret sending Mangold on his way.
  2. if Williams is available it's hard to see them passing on him. If not an tackle makes a lot of sense.
  3. TJ is gone... only time will tell if Ozzie made the right move. Mangold, if healthy, would upgrade our OL and our whole offense. We need to pull the trigger on him. If his ankle is ruined it's time for him to retire.
  4. The only thing you can count on in this media event is that the FO won't tip their hand in any way if they can avoid it.
  5. Jernigan was headed into a contract year... he would have played hard shooting for big money. He would have then left in free agency like so many others and probably would have turned out to be an overpaid bust with his new team. Question then becomes did we gain or lose by moving up in the 3rd round as compared to one good year out of Jernigan. Only time (and who we get with that pick) will tell.
  6. if Williams is still there at 16 it's hard to see Ozzie passing... if not I'm guessing Ramczyk makes the most sense. They can get a good pass rusher in round 2.
  7. KO was not the same KO that we know today, he was above average at best because he was hurt all the time, so Urschel is comparable. Jensen is an average center but it should work out. Worse comes to worst, put Jensen at G and Urschel at C. The leadership will never be at that level, but Weddle and Suggs are doing a pretty darn good job in my opinion. The addition of Jefferson will also boost the confidence and swagger of the secondary. CJ is another up-and-coming guy after he takes Correa under his wing. My gut feeling also tells me that Dumervil returns. Flacco, Yanda and a grown-up Wallace will take on the leadership roles on the offensive side of the ball. Urschel comparable to KO??? Do you really believe that?
  8. Taking a dominant OL player at #16 makes a lot of sense... there are some questions that would need to be answered about this guy, however.
  9. I think they are giving Watson enough time to heal so that he can pass a physical and then be cut.. I can't find the article I was reading but it talked about how players on IR need to pass a physical before being cut, or the team would have to pay the full salary due per injury settlement rules, because it's deemed if they couldn't pass the physical they can't play for another team either. ( like a hardship type thing to benefit the players ). I read something similar for the reason K.Arrington hadn't been released yet. This makes the most sense as to why Watson and Arrington are still on the roster. If the Ravens brass doesn't have enough faith in their young TE's to give them a shot... it would be too bad.
  10. Joe played exceptionally well during his rookie contract... after that, not so much.
  11. No question about it... he's the man!
  12. The big question is not would he help us... he certainly would... it's has he forgiven the Ravens for the way they dumped him? Getting rid of him was the Raven's worst move since Model fired Bill Belichek (just before they became the Ravens).
  13. Why cut him? Well we have 6 TEs on the roster all much younger (and cheaper) than the 36 year old Watson, who, if you will take a look at his stats, has had exactly one good season out of all his years in the NFL. What are the chances of needing 6 TEs, or of Watson having a second good year at this point in his career especially after a serious injury?
  14. Weddle is clearly the Ravens best free agent signing since "Q" or maybe SSS. Anyone have a clue why the FO hasn't released Watson yet to free up more cap space? Is it the way the contract is structured... maybe after 6/1?
  15. Am I the only one scared to death by the prospect of Ozzie selecting a WR in the first round? Think of his other first round WR picks over the years!
  16. Good signing... anyone have a clue why Watson is still on the roster? Does the date he is cut affect the dead money or is there some other consideration?
  17. Admit it... the prospects of the Ozzie taking a receiver with their first round pick scares the heck out of Ravens fans.
  18. He is reputed to be a third down back... good blocker and excellent receiver. He also consistently racks up a lot more yardage after first contact than say Pita. He might just see a lot of targets this year.
  19. I'm sure the money will come in handy... I hope the ravens have figured a way to help this fine young man out as well.
  20. Mangold seems like the answer here... why we are not interested is the question. The other question is why is Watson still on the roster?
  21. Sounds like a weaker version of Dennis Pitta, who we just asked to take a paycut. I rest my case. "Q" a weaker version of Pitta?? You are trying to be humorous... right?
  22. He has been a model of workmanship and work ethic thus far. Quite possibly because of having come up the hard way. A lot of professional athletes are never the same after they sign their first big contract... (the Ravens have a couple of examples). My guess is that Williams will continue to be Williams no matter the size of his check.
  23. Joe performed very well during his rookie contract... after that not so much.
  24. No doubt he will be missed but we are deep on the DL and we couldn't afford any more contracts of that magnitude. NE gave him a nice sized contract.
  25. More like 3 yards on third and 4.
