  1. No doubt the Oz has whiffed a lot more than usual in the past few years. This is his chance to make up for it in one fell swoop!
  2. The owner seems to be calling a lot more shots this year. He's a smart man... let's hope he's got football smarts too.
  3. Everyone seems to think Orr is ready... I think they are correct.
  4. As far as anyone can tell the Ravens made no effort to retain this guy... really unclear to me why the FO doesn't consider him to be a valuable part of the defense. Setting the edge is worth something... as is giving Doom a breather on running situations. Maybe I'm missing something, but lack of effort is curious.
  5. IF Suggs comes back in shape and motivated it will be a big year for the "D", the FO should still consider a push to resign Upshaw to give doom plenty of breathers.
  6. If RG III winds up in Cleveland he will have had a tour of the two worst organizations in the NFL. Maybe he did something bad in a previous life?
  7. It's a sad day for both the team and the family. He had the poor judgement to be riding after dark, no lights, no helmet all dark clothing. Still a very sad thing for a fine young man.
  8. Still think the FO should be making a run at retaining Upshaw at the right price (if they haven't already).
  9. Anyone know how he was primarily used in San Diego... FS or SS?
  10. Since we have a little cap space it's time to lock up Upshaw for this season and Brandon Wm's for his post rookie contract. Our "D" needs these two more than a free agent receiver or another safety. We have a plethora of draft picks that should be able to help us out at those positions if needed.
  11. Ozzie has certainly whiffed more than usual the last 3 or 4 years but his track record on tight ends is still pretty good. Let's hope this guy works out well...
  12. Sounds like KO already fits in well with this a bad Oakland organization.
  13. Unusual pick... age 35, cost us a compensatory pick, a bigger hit on our cap space than drafting a TE. I guess we will see if it was the right move.
  14. Too bad Boyle put the organization in this position. It costs us a compensatory pick and some cap space.
  15. Now that KO is history... it's time to try to re-sign Upshaw. Should be affordable and he can play.
  16. KO made it clear... he wants top $$$ more than to be a Raven. No point getting into another huge contract at the expense of building a winner.
  17. Seems like Joe will be eating up a large percentage of our cap space for a long time... I hope the FO knows what they are doing...
  18. Smith is a class act and will be missed. He is on the downhill side of his career, however, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets re-signed later at a lower number should the FO feel the need for help on the inside after the draft.
  19. We didn't free up a ton of cap space for this year... I hope the FO knows what they are doing.
  20. If KO wants to squeeze the last dollar out of this contract then he's as good as gone. No point wrecking the team for one player. Ozzie has other options... the draft for one. Even Monroe if necessary.
  21. This year's salary cap maneuvers and draft will go a long way towards determining whether or not the wizard of Oz still has the touch.
  22. Lots of bad blood between Linta and the FO due to Linta's verbal barrage against Ozzie after the last contract. In the past Joe has always said he leaves contract matters to his agent. Unless that changes things are going to be tough.
  23. What a shame... he certainly had me fooled into thinking he was going to play like a Raven.
  24. Joe may or may not mean what he says about wanting to win... I assume he does; the problem will be Linta who wants to rub the FO's noses in it.
