  1. You'd have to give up much more for Matthews though.  It's possible that you'd have to trade up 10 picks or so, whereas Lewan would likely require a trade up of about 5 picks.

i wouldn't mind that at all because looing at the 2015 class is not that strong as this year class. so if it takes a first pick and a 2015 or 16 pick to move up 5 or 6 spots so be it. we have our guy atleast for the next decade.

  2. Arizona, TB, and Atlanta have all been rumored to being willing to spend big on a LT as well.  I don't know that they do with the potential to grab a guy in the draft, but those aren't the only teams looking.

i highly doubt atlanta is in any play for a LT they just paid sam baker 41 million plus and they have more holes on there team than we do(especally on Defense). Tampa bay yes and Arizona i guest will get roger saffold that was there fall back guy if they can't get albert.

  3. Depends on how much he's paid, and I don't think Albert's destination is quite so clear cut yet.  The Cards will probably get themselves in the running for one of the top guys.  And the Rams want to keep Saffold as a guard.  I've also heard rumors that the Raiders are re-upping with Veldheer for way more than I think he's worth as well.

Cardinals don't want Monroe they only wanted Albert and Roger saffold thats it. thats what there 2 guys.

  4. Trust me, I know about that dove year option because it makes things easier with Torrey. Won't have two young players with due contracts, thankfully.

Still, you have to figure the Ravens will try to negotiate with Jimmy next year

yeah but with the cap maybe going up the ravens might have close to 40 million next year maybe even more.

  5. Sam Shields just signed for almost $10 million per season. If Jimmy has another season like he just did, he won't be cheap at all based off of that

well the ravens are already said they gonna pick up his 5 option so its 2 more years for jimmy at low cost but the salary cap is going up so.

  6. All in all it just shows that Miami is getting ready to spend a trillion dollars in free agency like they did last year. Last year they spent $60M on Mike Wallace...and this year they will probably spend 60 more on a LT. All the big money they dropped last year on FAs and they still sucked a big one.

You can't finance a championship using your checkbook. Maybe if they spent more time evaluating draft prospects and less time batting their eye lashes at over priced FAs like a fat kid in a candy store...maybe they could get some where. But they continue to throw money at the wall and fail at drafting players...when you trade up in the draft for someone you could have probably traded back to get....and then try and trade him the following year you know your doing something wrong.

no man that just dolphins logic!!! its great!  its also good to throw money at a guy that was injured his whole career for the ravens and wasn't really a starter let me see 3 person on the depth chart lets give him 35 million. YES! lmao!

  7. Unfortunately, it's Bleacher Report, which scares me.  When some of the top analysts and reporters have been tweeting that Miami is going to go hard after Monroe, I think I'll tend to believe them over BR.  It does bring my hopes up a little, though.

Report: Dolphins Alreadly Showing Interest In Albert, Monroe, Saffold & Veldheer
Nate Bouda March 8, 2014 Chiefs, Dolphins, Raiders, Rams, Ravens No Comments

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have expressed “strong interest” Rams’ free agent OL Rodger Saffold and have already reached out to Jared Veldheer (Raiders) and Eugene Monroe (Ravens).

    • Jackson adds that Miami has Chiefs’ LT Branden Albert appears to be “very, very high” on their free agents list.
    • Sources have informed Jackson that the Dolphins would “love” to sign Albert and Saffold in teh coming weeks.
    • Meanwhile, an NFL source tells Jackson that the Dolphins are the “clear front-runner” for Albert.
    • Adam Beasley reports that the Dolphins have discussed a new contract with free agent LT Bryant McKinnie

  8. This might be the Dolphins just doing their homework but according to Rotoworld, they have reached out to OTs Saffold and Veldheer. Also it seems they may not be as high on Monroe as we think. Report is they really want Brandon Albert and is making him their top priority. Veldheer and Monroe would be fall back options just in case.

So a little good news it seems and just maybe we may be able to keep Monroe after all.

yeah i put up the bleacher report news earlier i knew they where true.

  9. Stevie Brown could be helpful at safety. Did a good job on the Giants last year and has decent ball skill. Dont think he would command a large contract either. Think he could do just as good a job as Clemons at a lower price.

Clemons is going to be at a low price too he's not up there with byrd or ward he' a very good Coverage FS thats not going to get top dollar. because alot of people don't know who he is. so underrated.

  10. We also have a hole at RT and guys like Saffold, Breno Giacomini, Zach Strief, and maybe Eric Winston could be considered as well. We could even go the route of pushing Kelechi Osemele to RT making it easier to find a replacement G.

One way or another we have to find a LT and a RT...2 verrry big holes to fill.

i can see them pushing KO back to RT which i said a long time ago and then just have to figure out who gonna play LG and LT then i think it makes it easier to find a guard which i see them taking zach martin plug him there and get Collins in FA to man down the LT spot hopefully. but i now ozzie he has a plan a, b, c, d, and z so.

  11. I don't see Albert much being cheaper.  I see whoever doesn't get Monroe out of Miami and Arizona paying some big bucks for Albert.  If I had to pick a guy in FA right now, I'd probably say it's Anthony Collins at this point.  He's a risk considering he's only had 1 good year at LT after being a reserve lineman for a good portion of his career, but I think he'd be a good fit based on price.  If we don't get Monroe, I'd rather spend that money on someone like Collins and Dietrich-Smith or De La Puente in addition.

yeah i thin i'm all in for Anthony Collins now probabaly get him at 3 years 20 million.

  12. It makes sense for Monroe.  This is his chance at his biggest contract, and I'm sure he's drawn to Florida for the fishing (pending Miami signs him, of course).  There's no state income tax, so it would equate to even more money than it does here.  His wife may be from Maryland, but I'm sure she'll gladly take some of that extra money for herself.  It's unfortunate, but that's how it works.  I wouldn't care personally.  What can't I do with $40M that I can do with $50M?  Some guys don't see it that way, though.  That's the business.

but also look at miami and they will probably well overrrrrrpay for him but here he has a chance to be with a great franchise and a winning tradition but i guest its money on his mind rather than take a 1 or 2 million less to stay on a winner. # Miami sure does like ravens UFA!

  13.

Per sources, Eugene Monroe is unlikely to return to the Ravens. Contract talks between Monroe and the Ravens have reached a standstill

Per a source, Monroe wants a long-term deal that averages around $10M annually. The Ravens want him for closer to $8M or $9M per year

smh greed. i understand money but he's not worth it. aaorn wilson said

    Aaron Wilson RavensInsider 3 hrs

With the divide contractually and the money that other NFL teams are expected to pay for Eugene Monroe, unlikely he returns at this point

  14. Marlon is a slot receiver, so the Ravens would be signing for depth there when they need an outside receiver much more

he can play both slot and outside. he not a traditional (wes welker) slot WR which the ravena are looking for . he a match up nightmare yes but he not just a Slot wr.  getting a guy like Moore or Andre robert fits that mode better. plus the ravens are looking for both types of WR big and a wes welker type guy.
