  1. When Flacco was in the draft with Matt Ryan, all you heard was that Flacco, from a backwater school, was a good QB with a strong arm. But Matt Ryan, was a future superstar. As the years passed, these "experts" kept chipping away at Flacco's achievements, while touting Ryan as a "breaking out QB superstar" any day now. Let's be real, if Ryan had the same record as Flacco, he would be listed as a top 3 QB on anybody's list. Now, throw in the sports media's weird bias against the Ravens in general (never understood this, why?), and Flacco gets somehow labeled as overrated. Bottomline, I don't care what the media or anyone else says. I am just glad he's our Quarterback! GO RAVENS! 25

Gary kubiak wasn't a good nfl qb. Bill Walsh definitely wasn't.  Are we to say their opinions on nfl qb play is lessened by the fact that they weren't all pro Qbs?

I wouldn't take away from a guy's opinion because he wasn't a superstar. I would however listen harder to Deion Sanders opinion about being a NFL star then Trent Dilfer's. No disrespect to Dilfer, but Sanders has lived the HOF track.

Actually it's pretty unanimous at this point all the national folks put Flacco about a top 10 qb give or take one or two.

Don't really get the comment about Pars and Steelers as favorites?  Why wouldn't they be in that discussion.... perspective

You're right, I went into a full rant about the Pats and Steelers, I was taking a jab at the national media with that comment and suggesting favoritism of some teams will "adjust" opinions about Flacco as a QB.  I guess I should have narrowed the focus there a bit, my bad :)

  4. David Carr, live on NFL.com said that Flacco is the number 3 overrated QB in the NFL because: even though his numbers look good, and he has the most top playoff stats, and a MVP superbowl ring....his play is mediocre..........WHAT????

Ah yes it's off season....release the media trolls....I guarantee that before the first preseason game all the "football analyst" will have the Steelers and Patriots as the AFC championship contenders.....here we go again!!!! lol

  5. Last year I cringed in the first half of the season when the opposing QB dropped back, midway through the season I covered my eyes, by the three quarter mark I just sat there numbly and watched. I know they got better at the end last year, but man.....it was a mess. So, this year I am hoping that I get excited for the right reasons when those QBs drop back against our D! GO RAVENS! 25

  6. I think defenses today have evolved from the "old days" where you could label a defense a 4-3 or 3-4. Because offenses have become so dynamic in play calling, defenses have become much more deceptive in looks as a counter. Let's hammer these folks this year! Time to get on top of the division! 7. I see what Clifton Brown is saying with the triple effect, but Monroe was out so much I don't see him not being here as much of a factor. I say that losing OC was the biggest "hit" the Ravens need to get past. I think focus should be on who will be next to Stanley, that in my opinion is going to be crucial.

Also, I think it would be fair now to say Yanda is HOF caliber. I wonder when calling him future HOF is appropriate? GO RAVENS! 25

  8. This is nothing new with the media, this happens almost every year. As a group the national sports media is heavy pro Patriots, Steelers and will give almost everybody the nod over the Ravens. In fact, I am shocked when someone in the media (that's not local) praises the Ravens. I mean let's be real, who cares what the say? Their approval is not required for the Ravens to play :) GO RAVENS! 25

  9. Well, this sucks. I was hoping to see what he is capable of this year (and still may depending on the injury). There is no bright side to this, but it does open up opportunities for others. If a roster spot is opened by Perriman going on IR, it will give those in a crowded WR corps the ability to receive snaps they may not have had otherwise. In other positions, the opening of a roster spot could mean making the team or not. The idea of having 4 TE now seems more practical than before since Waller is kind of a hybrid TE/WR. NO MORE INJURIES! lol, I know that's near impossible, but hey it can't hurt being hopeful :) GO RAVENS! 25

  10. I think that the Ravens and Steelers are still two teams that invoke "smash mouth football" whenever they meet, but I think as much fun as it is seeing Big Ben on his back (can't get enough of that!), I think that the Ravens need to focus on putting Dalton on his back more often. I want to see all three teams in the AFC North counting us a their #1 Rival. IMHO.

  11. Harbs is #2, it's hard not to give Belichick the #1 nod with 4 SB rings (as much as I would like not to). I could accept a tie with Tomlin at #2, but Zimmerman and Arains over Harbs? Based on what? Get real USA Today!

Just more USA Today disrespect they always give the Ravens.USA Today is best when in the trash, or catching stuff at the bottom of a Ravens cage, in my opinion. GO RAVENS! 25

  12. GASP! Football players wearing full pads for 5 minutes! .....seriously? I hate the CBA's weird rules, they are so dumb. Has anyone else noticed the sudden increase of injuries after the CBA did things to "protect" players in the offseason?

What is the reasoning behind no full pads yet? They can't handle it yet? Please, I don't think so.....remember when we played football and practice was about whatever the coach wanted to work on? NFL...what have you become? LOL,  GO RAVENS! 25
