  1. I know the argument of; "why risk him in the 4th preseason game where players are flying around the field trying to make a team?", but if he cannot withstand ONE hard hitting game.....what makes anyone think he can endure a 16 (or more hopefully) game season? No, I think this is a good confidence check that he can hack the grind of the NFL. Let's hope he shines Thursday night! GO RAVENS! 25

  2. So ESPN snubbing the Ravens and Flacco again.....I hope that the advertisers hoping to gain exposure in the Baltimore market through ESPN realize they have a better shot advertising on Nickelodeon with that kind of bias. I pretty much ignore them now, and the NFL network until the season starts, all they talk about now is how great the Steelers, Green Bay and Patriots are going to be....boring! GO RAVENS! 25

  3. You know back in the 80's when the average safety weighed about 180 lbs having a 53 man roster was pretty fair keeping a team from stacking too many stars. But with the pace of the game, and the magnitude of human collisions these days.....the potential of serious injury of players by playing too many downs is high. I really think, for player safety sake, rosters should be expanded to 60, maybe 63. This will allow enough players to switch out before minor problems become major without teams comprising performance. Sure, fantasy owners will whine about low numbers on key players because of the "spreading of the wealth", but compared to a player's health, which is more important?

  4. Lots of stuff for the Ravens to work on. The secondary is still a concern to me at CB. Powers got owned, twice receivers had a couple steps on Jimmy, Wright had a height disadvantage on the TD, but his technique was solid. Of course defense was playing vanilla without some starters so perhaps it seemed worse than it was. Backups looked solid this year so far :) GO RAVENS! 25

how exactly are those past accomplishments going to make up for the fact that all 3 are past the age of 30 and coming off season ending injury?

I have faith in Steve B, Ozzie, Eric and John Harbaugh that if they were "under par" that things would be done to replace them. Simple as that. I seriously doubt that if the are as bad as Dameshek paints them to be, the Ravens would commit to them. Too much at stake. After the 2012 Superbowl year where a sweeping change was made against popular fan opinion, does anyone doubt that Ozzie WILL pull the trigger if necessary? No, they are as advertised, and this year is going to be awesome! GO RAVENS! 25

He is bias but he does have a point.

SSS is 37 years old coming off an achilles injury.
has he even practiced with the 1st team yet?
pre season is like a week away.

Forsett will be 31 also coming off a season ender as well and well he had only 1 year of production in kubiak system 2 years ago.
no clue on how he will preform this season at his age.
his numbers where down last season.

Flacco is also coming off a terrible season ending injury and although 31 aint that old for a QB he never has been a light out QB in the regular season.
he takes his game to another level in the play offs.
it will also be interesting to see how he will play once the season starts and players are actually coming for him.
how he will handle hits and deal with pressure is what im curios about the most.
if he is worried about getting injured again he could make bad decisions when he senses pressure that might not even be there.

Ravens have the oldest starting triplet with all 3 coming off season ending injuries........

I would still grade a  Superbowl MVP QB, Pro bowl RB, and FHOF WR higher than unproven rookies. Not saying they should be in the top ten, but 29th is ridiculous.

  7. Dave Dameshek of the NFL Network (and NFL.com) listed Flacco, Forsett, SSS combo 29th out of all teams. He even listed untried rookie QBs ahead of the Ravens. Now I know he is from Pitts and a Raven hater, but come on man! I can see because of injuries middle of the pack listing but putting untried rookie combo's ahead of them is just a poorly veiled insult. I am so turned off by the negativity towards the Ravens on the NFL site and network this year. GO RAVENS!

  8. I think the reason for the change is that; unlike turf, grass sod that gets chewed up is not so easily matched up in color when repaired, especially in winter. So the idea was to reduce the bright colors....now, I just pulled that from my back side, but it sounded good huh? lol, don't worry the field will look awesome for the AFC championship game this year :) GO RAVENS!
