I only want to see one thing Sunday.....Ravens beating the Bengals, everything else is sauce for the ....turkey :) GO RAVENS! CB 25
The Ravens had a real chance to take this game. But what ever happened to our defense in the second half earned the loss. They got shredded in the intermediate passing lane (playing way too soft in zone) and gave the rookie way too much time. But.....it is what it is, on to next game. GO RAVENS! CB 25
I don't think this game was called evenly. The Cowboys played almost penalty free. How's that possible? When will the refs ever stop taking sides?
Defense didn't play well. This is clearly on Ozzie. He got his cheap CBs Wright and Powers. Enjoy that money saved . Thank you.
It appears that the offense never clicks. Left too many points on the field especially early when they had chances to increase the lead. Are they really practicing enough? It just seems that other offenses are executing better.
Agreed, the Cowboys were all over our guys, and the officials acted as crowd pleasers calling questionable penalties against the Ravens more often than not........but I don't believe that was the losing reason.
The Cowboys are just a football team, nothing more, beating them anywhere just takes commitment hard play and heart to meet them head on. I see an upset coming! GO RAVENS! CB 25
Maybe not "America's Team" but definitely "The People's Team". When you see the struggles the Ravens have had to overcome time after time, it gives us "common Joes (and Janes)" the inspiration to "weather the storm" and never give up the fight. What better example can a sports hero provide? This is why I am a Ravens fan, not because of trophies or accords, but because these are the values I want my kids, to teach theirs. GO RAVENS! CB 25
All the pundits give the Ravens absolutely no chance of beating the Cowboys in Dallas.......heard this before in 2012 in Denver if I remember correctly, Ravens have the talent, go get the win and help solidify the path to the playoffs! GO RAVENS! CB 25
Steelers losing ALWAYS brings a smile to my face :) GO RAVENS! CB 25
I heard B.J. on Ravens extra say "yeah, but it was the Browns".....and? The score was 28-7 not a 2 point squeaker. I think the Ravens beat them as they should have. The Defense is playing lights out! Awsome! The first half offense I found myself groaning "here we go again!". But in the second half, somebody must have doused them with coffee or something because they suddenly came alive :) Seeing that......yeah this team has the potential to beat anyone out there. O-line injuries are a bit of a concern, hope they can work around them until guys get healthy. Good win! GO RAVENS! CB 25
No doom and gloom! Go out there and throw some swagger around! Don't forget to have some fun and make this the game where people say...." and that game is when they turned the corner baby!!" GO RAVENS! CB 25
On the bright side... the Steelers lost, so IF the Ravens can right the ship after the bye then there is hope :) GO RAVENS! CB 25
Let's see.....Another dismal performance, I'm not used to seeing seeing the Ravens so bad. What I noticed just from watching on TV:
Flacco throwing off back foot, not stepping up into throws (sometimes he can't), Big Joe seems not to trust stepping forward. Joe is not as accurate as normal (maybe because he is throwing off back foot).
Limited playcalling on offense causing defenses to sniff out most plays. Not being able to score is allowing opposing offenses time to figure out best way to attack our defense. Their linebackers are crashing in way too fast, they know the play about to be run, (Maybe adjust routes a few yards, or reverse a few things to see if that gets them rattled, right now I can guess the play 8 out of 10 times from home). Teams are beating our defense by getting the ball out fast.....and we don't do that because?
On Defense, poor tackling, poor technique giving after the big play catch run ability (often leading to a score). Blitzes aren't fooling anybody, they are doing either awesome game planning, or the defense is way to predictable.
Season is still wide open, but Ravens need to stop worrying about getting out of funk and just play football. Skill, technique, and execution are indeed needed, but winning comes down to the heart of a team! So knock it off, go out and have fun again and do what you do! GO RAVENS! CB 25
I think that trying to power a run from the half yard line with a makeshift O-line and it doesn't work the first time or second time, then probably trying again on third and fourth down is not the best idea. Instead spreading them out at least would have given the option to pass (or open up a run). Banging off them stacking for the run, was perhaps not the best idea. I have no problem going for it, but choice of plays could have been better. I think on second down, a play option with option for Joe to run at least would have backed up their secondary, if not score. I noticed nobody was ghosting Joe. I guess they forgot he can run. Powerful is good...but sneaky works too. Just my humble opinion. GO RAVENS! CB 25
I have to say thank you to Mr. Byrne! My daughter came down from upstate New York with her boyfriend and a couple friends to see the game Sunday. We were right under the booths. When I saw Kevin in the booth, I told them "hey, there is Kevin Byrne, he is a Vice President with the Ravens". They waved to him and he stopped what he was doing to wave back and give them a thumbs up. They loved it! Thanks again man! GO RAVENS! CB 25
The devil whispered "you can't defeat the storm"...the warrior replied, "I am the storm!" ....here's hoping for a purple storm in NY come Sunday. GO RAVENS! CB 25
I hate to see anybody lose their job, but I think this was the right call. Trestman's offense ideologie doesn't match up well with the Ravens personnel. Nothing wrong with it, just not advantageous for the skills Flacco and WR's bring to the table. Throwing short of the chains works if you hit for a 6-7 yarder each time (or most). It's not the answer when Flacco has to check down (2-0 yards) each time. I think Flacco's best using Play action, or stretching the defense to open up the run. Just my opinion. GO RAVENS! CB 25
My question is; when you have a RB hammering out 8.5 yards average per run, why did we abandon the run? Not saying only run of course, you take what the defense gives you, but you hammer them then use the play action pass. Until they shut down the run, the Ravens should have at least threatened the run almost every play....An empty backfield? Sure on rare occasion, but why switch to a heavy pass game plan? The Ravens were winning the battle up front, in my opinion had they continued to run and use the play action pass, they would have won. Hopefully the offense wakes up, 3-2 is not bad, but the Ravens should be 5-0. GO RAVENS! CB 25
With Stanley in, things would be much more warm and fuzzy. Lewis and Urschel is going to be interesting if they do that, but I would had preferred Yanda at LT, Lewis at LG, and Urschel at RG. But.....anyway you slice it, Hurst just can't seem to hold up the blind side. GO RAVENS! 25 CB
The offense has the potential to be awesome, if they stop shooting themselves in the foot with dumb penalties. It's tough going when you start going backwards, it takes the momentum right out of a drive, extra when negating good plays in the process. I know that Flacco keeps talking about big chunk plays, and they are good, but if the routes take a long time to develop then odds are that the pass rush will get to him more often than not. Two 5 yard passes is 10 yards and a first down, sure a 65 yard on a post is great, but if you don't keep the intermediate threat in their face they will blitz/stunt and get to Flacco, I don't care how good the pass blocking is. The Raiders got the ball out fast on short passes (knowing our pass rush was strong). Sure they had less yards overall, but they won. GO RAVENS! CB 25
Ah stats...they seem to come from pundits like leaves falling from a tree to "nope" anything the Ravens do. But let's talk about the "cupcake schedule" so far. If you wanted to beat Baltimore at their home opener, you would need a good team with coaches and players deeply familiar with how the Ravens operate....say, Rex Ryan, Ed Reed, and Tyrod Taylor perhaps? Then give them all offseason to plan. Then another coach, Hugh Jackson, very familiar with the Ravens (especially Flacco), in their home opener. Then put the Ravens in a place they have not won at in recent years, against a Jacksonville team touted as up and coming with their backs against a wall. Cupcake??? hummm. If the Ravens would not have beaten these teams they would be 2-1, 1-2, and 1-2. That seems to be where a lot of teams "contending" are. So....keep your stats haters, the Ravens are 3-0, point differential? Steelers got hammered 34-3, there is a point differential they should explore :) GO RAVENS! CB 25
These last minute 1 or 2 point victories are going to cause my health insurance rates to rise! Wow, call them ugly all you want....but a win's a win! Heck, the Ravens can win ugly the rest of the year and it's cool with me :) GO RAVENS 25 CB
One thing is for sure, our special teams is is a big time game changing threat to other teams, Best FG kicker in Mr. Money Tucker, best punter with Bullseye Sam Koch (with Cox AKA The Wolf Pack). Hester pulling people out of their shoes, and unreal kick blocking abilities on FG/PATs by a monster front. It's like they are holding frying pans in their hands smacking down kicks. Awesome job guys! GO RAVENS! 25 CB
So Browns fans say refs bad call cost them....that was a heck of a 25 point bad call, lol. C'mon Cleveland! I saw all the jabbing, pushing, and Haden blocking receivers out there, half wasn't called. In fact I can't remember a single PI the whole game....but, it's done, in the books, moving on! O-line needs to tighten up, not a disaster, but they should know better. GO RAVENS! 25 CB
Note to Ravens: In an effort to keep my cardio levels out of the critical range, they are no longer allowed to spot a team 20 points before winning the game. LOL GO RAVENS! 25 CB
I am deeply saddened hearing this. I had the privilege of speaking with coach Brooks briefly after a preseason game a few years back. He was genuinely a nice person and loved everything about football. You could see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice when talking about coaching challenges and his love for the Ravens organization. His passing is a great loss to us all. My prayers to the Brooks family.
