  1. I was a bit shocked that he still wants to wear it. Is it just "peace of mind" or is a recovery issue lingering? GO RAVENS!
  2. I find it ...disheartening... that Jerry Jones is in the HOF and Art Modell is still being snub :( GO RAVENS!
  3. Ray lewis on that historic night "One play!" ....still gives me chills watching that! GO RAVENS!
  4. In recent history these guys were the last clear cut #1 WR in my opinion.....Derek Mason, Boldin (Torrey got close), and SSS. Some folks questioned Boldin until the SB run in 2012. Drafting a top WR? It's a crap shoot. Sometimes they are clear as with Julio Jones 6th pick overall...then not so clear, A. Brown a 6th round pick. I remember when the Ravens picked Mark Clayton, then two picks later GB picked AAron Rodgers, who could have known? FA, same thing, sometimes it's a home run, sometimes you strike out. The problem with getting a true #1 WR in FA is the cost, teams rarely let them walk so if you want them, you better ante up! Then, if it doesn't pay out (or he gets injured).....you've weakened the whole roster hopping on one player. I think Ozzie and Eric are great at this balancing act, let's hope they can work their magic this year and snag a couple team positions #1's. GO RAVENS!
  5. Welcome to the Ravens! Let's get a SB ring on your finger! GO RAVENS!
  6. So let's see.....the Ravens need a starter level CB, WR, and edge rusher via draft or FA....commit more to the run, develop a better play book for receivers....get better play out of key players (especially the QB)....find out why the defense collapsed (for the most part) in the second half of the season, and get on track to make a deep playoff run this year, sound about right? ....sounds easy to me LOL GO RAVENS!
  7. I say "whoa guys!" everybody take a breath.... Long before "the pitchforks come out" and the "why it's not good to fire (fill in the blank)" goes on a media frenzy roll, I'd like to point out that a lot of fans are OK with whatever the Ravens (that's Steve B. down to the last rung) thinks will make this team better. I do realize that the "in your face" the Steelers did to us, cuts deep, and a lot of angry fans are lashing out, but for those of us who has been around since the voting days for the team name "Ravens" you have to understand this is the rollercoaster of what happens. Now....who was Baltimore's NFL team in the 80s? That's right, nobody, it rolled down the highway on Mayflower trucks in the 70's to a different city. In the 2 decades the Ravens have been here, they have produced two SB wins and a bunch of exciting football. Some teams have been around forever and has yet to win one SB. I think the Ravens have earned a lot more respected than some of these angry fans are giving. You can give me red marks all day, I support what THEY think will help the team, bottom line. That's all I got to say about that. GO RAVENS!
  8. IMHO the Ravens need to build so if a top player is out, the team doesn't fall apart. How many times have we heard..."Jimmy Smith is out that's why we lost", or last year "Suggs being out caused a losing season"? Other teams like the Patriots (barring them spying, and cheating) take major losses and year after year produce a quality season. Belichick is very good, but so is Harbs, "what one man does, so may another" is the saying. Let's be smart this year and build a team of playmakers instead of searching for one. OK I said my piece. GO RAVENS!
  9. I agree, a quality CB is desperately needed. Jimmy is great when he is out there, but he is out with injuries more often than in it seems. Tavon Young is awesome (but he is still learning) Wright and Powers are not top tier CBs. In my humble opinion for the draft I don't think a RB is needed, and because Wagner may leave in FA maybe an O line guy. Also a WR should be on the shopping list, but if I was the Ravens I would focus on the secondary (mainly CBs) as much as possible. GO RAVENS!
  10. The one "New Year's resolution" I would wish for the Ravens is to figure out what is happening in the 4th quarter to the defense. Game after game the D starts out like a rabid bulldog destroying the other guys, then melts to swiss cheese by mid 4th quarter. I seriously don't think it's the wearing down of players (although I am sure that does happen when the offense sputters). I truly can not give an opinion as to the cause, since I don't know the game plan or see the tapes, but if that could be reduced (or halted), the Ravens would stop losing these under 10 point games in the 4th quarter. Just My Humble Opinion. GO RAVENS! CB 25
  11. On the eve of this Christmas of 2016, I want to say as a fan, how very proud I am to be a Ravens fan. Every year I see players that go way beyond what they are paid for to bring to our communities....hope for a better day. So.....on the eve of the game that will most likely define the 2016 season, We, your true fans, know you will do your best. We can ask for nothing more. To the team: From all of us, to all of you and your families, Happy Holidays! GO RAVENS! CB 25
  12. BTW Weddle's snub is typical for Ravens, seems that an effort is made to dis the deserving players every year. Until some "old haters" are gone, this will unfortunately be par for the course.
  13. Ward is No. 1 without a doubt, but I would put Rothlisberger at 2, then Troy P. at 3. The rest would follow pretty much in the order they are. Pomalu Was a frustratingly great player that caused great anger, but generally he was a classy competitor in my opinion. GO RAVENS! CB 25
  14. Yes, everything you said is true, losing to the lowly Jets and such. But.....every single reason the Ravens (barring injuries) lost games to put them in this position is due to self inflicted mistakes. IF (and this is a big IF!) the Raven's offense stops "foot shooting", and inflicts their will on the opponent, they can take it all. Here it is, it's time for the underdogs with the ability to TAKE all the other guys marbles to do it, and step up into the tournament. Ravens got the talent, now all they need to is throw in a champions heart, beating as one. I for one believe. GO RAVENS! CB 25
  15. I lost count of the check downs, if the zone is taking away the middle then run off tackle and (on occasion) draws, then the play action may actually work (see Seatle Seahawks win over NE). Disguising the drop out-to-coverage by the linebackers rattled Flacco, for that speed there is a price. Had they hammered the run (even delayed hand off), the depleted Pats secondary would have tired. Just a thought. Without offense adding pressure, Brady was able to do as he wished as the game progressed. Also, the Pats and other teams lose star players and are able to win. Why are the Ravens so dependant on one player (Jimmy Smith). Need to fix this major flaw, if the Pats can do it, so can the Ravens. GO RAVENS! CB 25
