  1. it would be interesting if he were cut. Dragonfly would get a much bigger chance to step up on offense, and guys like Doss could try to redeem themselves. however, interesting isnt the same as good. much prefer if Q stuck around for a few years.

i've seen enough of Doss. He's not Anquan he will never be Anquan.

We must keep Q. He is the receiver I've been waiting for ever since we got Flacco. Anquan and Torrey best tandem we've ever had. Wish Derrick Maosn was a little younger and still with us. Anquan, Torrey, Mason and Jacoby would be a solid secondary.

  2. Don't think so - he obviously wants to test the market.

As much as I want him to stay - I think he is invaluable, money talks.

I guess we will see this week. I would hate to see him in an opposing uniform...

what do you mean he obviously wants to test the market?

He obviously wants to stay in Baltimore and simply get paid what the Ravens agreed to pay him for his services. Given his post season performance I'd say he is entitled.

  3. Torrey could be incredibly versitile and with another off season he should be our #1. Torrey has very good ball skills and imo he could give Q a run for his money in the hands department after another offseason.

Torrey's hands have improved dramatically. Pre-Draft his hands looked bad. His rookie year they weren't great, he had some big catches but dropped some balls he should have caught. Now it looks like he's finally catching balls with his hands this year, as opposed to his chest like last year (2011). Don't see him ever having hands as good as Q, but now his hands look to be solid, after some of the balls he caught this year, can't really question his hands anymore. He's not the possession reviver Boldin is. Torrey's pretty much our burn you deep guy, with a few post routes, comebacks and out routes thrown into the gameplan. We try a reverse with him now and than but it rarely works.

  4. Boldin turned it on the playoffs that is fact. Anything to do with Caldwell? If only we could average Boldin's 4 PO games to a 16 game season. He would be worth that 7mil.

If he averaged what he was in the PO's hed be around 80-90 catches for 1400-1500 yards w/ 12-16 TD's.

If Caldwell was the OC all year our offense and Boldin would have been a lot better. Will never forget how he saved us in Arizona last year. The man can turn it on when we need him the most. All we have to remember to do is throw him the ball.

Just cause a CB is on Boldin doesn't mean he's covered that is how good he is. To truly cover Boldin you need to be a top tier CB in this league. Talib was doing a good job on him till Boldin pulled his hamstring. After that it was soff to the races. You all are acting like Boldin can't run he got behind people plenty of times this year, and when Joe threw a good ball he could catch it.

No other reciever on our team or free agency can catch contested balls or in traffic like Q can.The man is so big and strong and can hold onto the ball no matter how hard he is hit.

  5. See, my issue with cutting Leach is you've invested 7.5M a year average into a RB. It's true the FB position isn't what it was, but to lose a FB for your franchise RB seems like a big risk. If we cut him, I will feel like it was the right choice. Not that the Ravens are perfect here--we've made bad choices before. What I am saying is that I'll trust in the FO to make the right choice. I really don't know. Perhaps Damien Berry or Anthony Allen have been groomed to be the FBs of this team. I'm not sure. Perhaps we make a run at Felton. Don't know.

If we did cut Leach, I would want Delanie Walker. He brings a LOT to the football team: AWESOME special teams player, a HECK of a blocker in the run game, and can catch some balls here and there--similar to Leach. The biggest thing--the worst thing--we lose with Leach is how he ran HARD. That will be missed. You could put him at RB and he would get you a yard or two. Almost guaranteed.

Leach is probably the most productive player on the team. I know he only plays 20% or whatever the number is of snaps, but in those 20% of his snaps he plays like a monster and is productive as anyone on this football team.

Don't forget Leach also had good hands. Man could catch the ball and run. I love Leach man he looks for the contact and loves to blow up LBs. Will never forget him demolishing Patrick Willis

making Damien Berry or Anthony Allen fullbacks seems like a bad idea. Just cause Allen throws some good blocks on Kickoff return doesn't mean he's a good fullback. I don't want to go back to another Le'Ron McClain, just a FB who wants to be a RB.

  6. I'm torn on Leach & BA. It makes sense to cut BA, to an extent. We would need to replace his leadership. I can see Considine take over if re-signed for that role. Or perhaps another player.

Leach is a conflict. You lose a great lead blocker for Rice & Pierce. Leach is also one of the very best if not the best at his position. He could prove a major loss to our run game. It's a tricky spot. Boldin's not the #1 player at his position or even top-5. I'm not sure about top-10 either. But I agree with you. Leach's production may be replicated. Boldin may not be easily replicated.

I want to keep Leacj if possible. Fullbacks are very underrated in the NFL right now. Leach is the best there is and he really helps us in our power running game. We can do 1 back sets, but its very helpful to put a true fullback in the backfield and get a power running game going. Despite what people think we are still a heavy run team. We take shots deep and Joe can run a 2 minute offense, but we are shown to be post effective when we keep defenses honest with a heavy doss of running plays.

BA can go, he's played well for us, got a ring and is as old as Ray Lewis. More importantly he didn't play well this year. Thought he was good last year, but I vividly remember his missed tackles on those kickoffs and punts that almost killed us this year.

There are a few players I'd cut before Boldin and after this season I really don't see how u let him go. Mans got 3 more years left at least. I get the logic in letting Leach go, but I'd still keep him.

Don't really see the need for BA. Love the man he's a great individual that fights for the right reasons but I think his best days are behind him

  7. If the article from Rotoworld is correct and this is about cutting Boldin to keep Ellerbe...if you look at overall production and durability, and not from just this season, this seems like bad business decision to me. Once people realize that the MLB position isn't as important as it was when Lewis was here (strengthen the front seven), it just doesn't justify overpaying Ellerbe when there are viable, cheaper options in the draft. The last thing you would want to do is weaken the offense at this point at the expense of the defense, and I think Boldin's absence weakens the offense not only from losing a "clutch" player, but from a leadership and "coaching up" perspective. Glad I am not in Ozzie's shoes.

I like Ellerbe but all the numbers I'm hearing for him are too much. He should good improvement this year, lost some weight was faster and was still good despite playing injured.

Overall I'd say Jameel was more consistant though pre-injury. Really hope he can get healthy nd come back. More than 18 million seems like too much for Ellerbe. Not blaming him for trying to cash in, but if I'm looking at his body of work prior to this year hard to offer him more than 22 million, with the expectation he will get better.

  8. Boldin is slow as molasses, no arguing about it. Doesn't mean he can't make tough catches, but every single one is contested because the dude cant get open.

The question is who do the Ravens want Ed Reed or Q?

Boldin is as fast as Jerry Rice and that is good enough for me. He has great burst off the line and is an expert at faking out

    defenders.

Ravens can't afford to let Q or Ed Reed go.

I don't think you all realize how bad our recieving corps becomes without Boldin.

Basically we have Torrey Smith , Boldin and Dennis Pitta. If we lose on of those guys our receiving corps is not very good.

Dickson is a nice guy but has butterfingers. Jacoby Jones is a 3rd wide receiver at best, he makes his money on special teams though.

Tandon Doss, Laquan Williams and David Reed are just not good. I'm sorry they are not. And out history of drafting wide receivers is not great.

If you can keep a great player like Boldin you do. Flacco lives off the chunk plays and deep balls and no one is better on our team at making those catches than Boldin. We lose Boldin our offense becomes a lot less dangerous and we will not be competing for a Superbowl next year
