  1. he doesn't need to get separation he just catches the ball and runs for extra yards regardless of who is on him. Also he looked pretty open for several of his touchdowns during the regular season http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Anquan-Boldin-2012-Season-Highlights/61841066-b224-45ba-a9e3-abd2c9922c0b
  2. numbers say differently
  3. Boldin was always open even when covered. That was the great thin about Boldin he could make contested catches even in traffic. Even when he got hit
  4. I'm sure I saw them since I watched every game, they just weren't memorable. I've seen him catch a pass before but nothing I didn't think any other WR in the NFL couldn't have caught.Haven't seen any signs of him being the next Boldin
  5. I could catch passes against the Browns and Raiders. I need him to show up against real teams
  6. JJ has always been good at PR and KR in my opinion. His hands aren't amazing but he is a special teams phenome, with great moves in the open field. I know Houston still blames him for that drop against us. But I thought he just came to Baltimore and did what he always did. We just asked him to be himself and he did his job he just happened to do it in the biggest games. Those were catchable balls. He isn't the only WR to drop catchable balls, but he's got to make some catches for me to trust him. You don't get paid the big bucks for making catches I could make. Probably but its therapeutic for me. And if my tune turns out to be right, than there is that. I'd rather be wrong, but it is what it is. yeah I did like Lanquan last year, thought he showed potential still not sure about having him start though
  7. I don't know Ali proclaimed he was the greatest, and I believe him. Regardless anyway I hope I'm wrong I really do, but will let history be the judge. Feel free to refer back to my post in a year or two. If I'm wrong I'll gladly eat my words. But I fear I am right.
  8. yeah I'm not seeing it. Houston tried to turn him into a #2 receiver and it didn't work out. You'd think he'd have worked out with Andre Johnson
  9. I've seen him play in college and all his games in a Ravens uniform. Great talent evaluators like myself can make accurate assessments base don just that. Now his route running can certainly improve and I'd expect him to get better. Maybe even improve his hands. But his speed and size aren't changing. The man is no Anquan Boldin
  10. will take your word for it than, I was only 9 in 1998.
  11. Its the NFL if you can touch it you can touch it and should catch it. If you can't come down in bounds that is another story. Teams aren't playing men for mediocrity. You go out there and do your job. Doss dropped some catchable balls. My tunes gonna stay the same till we do something spectacular that makes me shut up
  12. I didn't say only, but its a primary reason because of his size and athleticism. He has good hands but he doesn't have Larry Fitzgerald or Anquan Boldin hands.
  13. they can't they are already invested in him. Have to hope he pans out. But I've been down this road before. Not sure if Doss will even turn out to be Mark Clayton from what I have seen so far
  14. Peyton Manning had a phenomenal rookie season, so even when people look at your intentionally misleading statistics they van't deny how great a rookie year he had.
  15. is good, but still doesn't change that we have one less guy defenses have to worry about
  16. if you can touch it you can catch it. He didn't catch them. I know Anquan was grabbing them out of the sky like candy. He even snagged one ball that was really thrown for Doss. Don't see him filling the void Q leaves behind
  17. Julios alright but I think he shines more because of the system. Our offense functioned because of all the pieces and Boldin was an essential piece. Boldin had the most reliable hands, especially when we went up against tough defenses and our guys couldn't find separation. Do we have other great offensive players year, but they will suffer without Boldin because offenses no longer have to account for them. Teams have already had enough time to game plan for Ray Rice. He is still an amazing player, but now teams know exactly how he can hurt them and they prepare for it. I love Jacoby but I think you are overrating his hands. Same goes for Dickson. Torrey's good, but he needs help. Just assigning a number next to a name doesn't equal the value. I don't see us just shifting players up. I see a gap for a specific role that no one on our roster fills. We had an offense that really complimented one another now we are missing a piece. Yeah our offense can still show up and play, but i want us to go compete for another SB not just show up.
  18. you've got to evaluate talent quickly in the NFL. Ravens can't afford to sit back and wait for Kyle Boller to become a number 1 qb anymore. Everytime a player steps out on the field he is given a chance and should make everyone count because he is being evaluated at every turn. Doss has gotten reps on more than one occasion.
  19. oh we won't have as good a year. Kaep will run a lot and their offense won't utilize Boldin like the Ravens did. Boldin better be ready to block a lot. Still Boldin would have had another stellar year in Baltimore if he came back
  20. Jacoby is a number 3 wide receiver Houston tried to turn him into something he was not and it didn't work out. We just had Jacoby be himself and utilized him the best. He just did what he normally did and happened to show up in the biggest games. We've lost our most reliable receiver. I love Jacoby but his hands aren't great and he has problems catching in traffic. We don't have any big bodied physical receivers now who can just out-physical secondarys. Better hope we don't come up against any physical Corners. Anquans our only WR that could catch the ball consistently when covered.
  21. what happened to his sticky hands against the Colts?
  22. Joe's great but once again if we have no one to catch the ball when he throws it. We can't get it done. Have you seen our other WR's there is no next man up. We've got Torrey and Jacoby. Pittas great at TE and I like Dickson when he doesn't drop the ball. But the rest of ur WRs? Oh we need help. David Reed is a special teamer. Laquan isn't Boldin. Doss can't catch. Streeter needs time.
  23. I actually feel worse about Doss after watching this. Maybe its the music but I was not impressed. Flacco's throwing bullets man the stuff only top players can handle. I don't see Doss and Flacco having that chemistry. It took Joe and Q 3 years to develop the perfect chemistry, and now the Ravens get rid of him for nothing.
  24. No Adrian Peterson is the best player on the Vikings. Harvin's good but he isn't AP
  25. what do you call the Colts game. I don't know whats more of a shot than a playoff match up, where you are targeted multiple times
