  1. The group of people who decide who is most valuable, which team is better,Power rankings etc include a lot of Pretend football enthusiasts (Fantasy) and Joe Flacco as well as the Ravens Defense both are murder on the stats not only of their own stats but of those they play against as well. This lead to a lot of negativity towards them both. The very Team that Last year was expected by many to be a playoff contender fell completely apart due to injuries as you all know. This team has actually gotten better at least talent wise over last years team. It is beginning to show. The fact that the Ravens do not play a team that is expected to be a playoff contender until the eighth week (Steelers) may actually be a very good thing as it will allow this team to adjust and Gel before they have to play a seriously difficult team. This will have No effect on the ranking for the Ravens. Even if the Ravens go 8-0 they will still not truly be respected by the Pretend football guys until they beet Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh and by that time it will be too late to matter. The Playoffs will only be a week away and if the Ravens are in them it may be steamrolling time.
  2. I have an expectation that might make sense. There are at least two teams out there that are desperate for a good starting QB and or a solid backup QB. Minnesota and Dallas. I expect to see one of them end up taking Josh Johnson if he is released. I think it would be smart if a little risky to keep Josh Johnson for trade bait.
  3. How come nobody is using their noggin about Tucker. He has been great and is well worth the tag price this year an maybe next year too. Tucker actually has a lot riding on his shoulders right now. I suspect that special teams are going to take a back seat to special Plays especially on extra points and if a team can get to where they are 75% or more on getting 3 yards then punting and field goals may become less important too all of this being very possible in two years. This could drastically reduce the value of kickers like Tucker. It could be wise to just look at the franchise tag as a way to see into the future without getting trapped.
  4. We have a decent Left Tackle in Monroe at least when he is healthy. I think that he Ravens will keep him as the starter with Stanley giving him plenty of breathers to keep him sharp and hopefully healthy. If he stays healthy and Stanley looks a good as expected then Monroe will be great trade material next year which would make both the Raves and Monroe Happy While at t he same time giving Stanley plenty of tutelage from Monroe this year.
  5. What is wrong with the Ravens? It can be summed up in a single word COACHING.. We have a new Offensive coordinator who was a loser in Chicago and now he has tunred Joe Flacco into Jay Cuttler in Record Time. We have a defensive Coordinator who does not seem to grasp the concept of attack defense. Just when our defense starts diong good and gives our offense a chance to get ahead and they do so our coordinator decides to change up the defense to a prevent and we get run all over. This EXACT same thing has happened the last four regular season games that we have played including last years loss to the Patriots. I simply cannot believe that we did not make a play to get Dennison last year as OUR OC. Baltimore has a habit of bringing up ne OCs and DCs and then having them go off to head coaching jobs. Dennison could have stayed for that opportunity which he will likley not have in Denver
  6. We are going to have to pay a lot more and Flacco's cap number will be much higher than it has been to make up for it. The Ravens Have been doing a great Job of getting and being younger. Their best team attribute is that the Ravens are more accurate in seeing the value in not paying players more than they think they are worth in a long term (cap wise) deal and it has been paying off. We have been seeing the resuls of that. We lost some very good players this year and yet I do not feel as though the overall ability of the Ravens has lessened. If you look at the defense or the offense as a whole unit the Extra or Special play making abilities that have been lost have been made up for or improved as a Unit. An Example is that Ngata is gone but the secondary is a lot better, Or that Smith and Daniels are gone but we have 4 Good tight ends right now, a speedster WR that even faster than Smith and a Lot of under rated WR talent thatis likely to shock a lot of teams. The Offensive line may not be rated number 1 but with the depth and proven abilities of the backups it is a lot stronger than most of those ranked above it for the long haul. Next year we will see a few more senior guys leave and others slot right in with little disruptiion. Veteran or Rookie they will all be lower budget than most other organizations can hope to accomplish and still win. Its always the holes that get you. Last year it was a banged up secondary. Hopefully this year it will be minimal. I am really wondering what the Ravens plan to do for kick and punt returners?
  7. The Ravens have 4 Tight ends at this point any two of which will end up taking over much of the work that a slot receiver would get anyhow. I expect to see a much improved short passing game bolstered by a strong run game both of which should open things up for Perriman. I cant help but feel that barring any injuries we are likely to see one of the strongest and most productive raven offenses ever. If the Ravens would have had a strong secondary last year the sky would have been the limit. Aside from using 8th string backups from other teams Practice squads for corners. If not for those corners the ravens may have gone all the way they had the patriots defense beaten twice and the defensive secondary allowed them back into the game twice. That will NOT happen this year. Flacco will look at this year as a contract year. Flacco's cap hit next year will be around 28 Million so they will be fporced to renegotiate his contract and another SB would make that contract a huge one again.
