  1. Bob Kravitz............Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!.............he just said on ESPN that the biggest question mark leading up to the Super Bowl was the playoff game with the Ravens. He said that the deflated balls were probably most key in that game because it was so close in score and that they may not have been able to advance past us if it was not for those deflated footballs. This is the first time I heard anyone on National TV speak to this issue........not that it can be replayed now.

  2. I see a lot of the Ravens analysts saying that Webb played well down the stretch and I always want to be like, "No, it's more that Melvin was just worse." Webb just wasn't playing very well, at all.

It's a problem with him on the outside going forward. He got out-everythinged by Bryant.

  3. There's two Joe Flacco's, good Joe Flacco and Bad Joe Flacco. Good Joe Flacco usually has a bye during Cincinnati week.

Although on the other side of that coin, the defense gave up 2 4th quarter leads to them last year, but still hard to put the majority of the blame on them. Flacco and the offense sucked it up for 6 quarters and then in the last quarter of each game, they turn it on but by then the defense is gassed,

Bengals and the Texans just bring out the worst in Flacco and the offense. It is what it is, maybe it'll change, but even Manning and Brady have opponents who seemingly just have their number. I think the Bills often give Brady fits, and the Jets used to and still occasionally do. Can't think of anyone for Manning but I'm sure there is. The Bengals and Texans just personnel and philosophically are a nightmare matchup for us, especially our offense.

Luckily, come playoff time they choke and we rise up. But regular season time, I always bet on splitting with the Bengals or worse, and after last year, whoever is playing qb for the Texans doesn't make me feel better about playing them.[/quoTE

The bills may present a problem but they still lose. (Brady is 23-2 vs the bills)

I'm a little tired of the Ravens being stymied offensively and defensively by the bengals. It comes off as being unprepared, out schemed and out coached and there is almost no chance we win the division if we are swept again.

It's time to change some things philosophically when it comes to playing the bengals.

If a team has your number, it had better not be a team in your division. They seem to play with a certain confidence against us, both in Cincinnatti and here in Baltimore and that needs to stop.

  4. It would be nice to get a win against Cincinnati. They are not an easy out for us and pretty much have their way of late. We haven't been able to stop them at crunch time on defense and our offense performs sluggishly.

Have to change that. Our secondary will have to be the difference this year as the bengals do a good job of keeping dalton clean, getting the ball out quickly and minimizing our pressures by doing so.

  5. I expect the ravens to go out and get a cornerback who can play opposite Jimmy Smith on the outside. Either that or someone like Melvin or Walker can win that job. A tall order considering their respective experience.

I watched the win over Pittsburgh again last night, and though it filled me with inexplicable joy all over again I noticed something I hadn't before: Webb got destroyed all night by Martavius Bryant.

I don't think he can hold up on the outside and I am certain that Pittsburgh is hoping they see that matchup again.

It could be a situation where Ozzie is willing to give up draft picks in a trade for a player but I don't think he will do it. It will have to be someone on the waiver wire or ideally a situation where Melvin or someone else wins that job.

  6. I absolutely cannot believe we drafted maxx williams in the 2nd. Have been a fan of us drafting this guy for several months and to see him fall to us....I almost couldn't sleep that night.

I feel similarly about the carl davis pick. Our D-line is so deep and talented. Cannot wait to see this guy develop.

Buck Allen was a steal. I love how all three of our backs can block.

For us to take Tray walker says a few things to me: 1) I don't think we reached at all. We beat a few teams to the punch. I don't think we took a flier on him at all. I think The ravens love this guy and he very well may have been the "sleeper" that DeCosta referred to after day two.

    Watch out for this pick.

I really like The darren waller pick as well. I have seen him mocked in the 3-4 round range. He has good hands, knows how to block and can threaten in the red zone.

  7. After hearing that Jonathan Joseph might be released or traded with the arrival of of Kevin Johnson, I absolutely love the idea of bringing him in and we have the cap space. That would really sure up that group and after this draft I can't think of a weak spot on the team then.

    Thoughts?

i'm going to be positive and say that I would love it. I fully expect us to sign a vet corner. no question in my mind. If it were jonathan Joseph?  super pleased by that.

I imagine there would be competition for a guy like that, however.

  8. i dont think it had anything to do with them having a closer look, i just think for their board specifically they had perriman as a better fit, and i think even without any visits it would have been the same. flacco isnt the best timing qb and that is the type of offense that dorsett will shine in, perriman on the other hand is sort of an ideal target for flacco and our offense, we can get more out of perriman than possibly any other wr in the draft not named amari cooper.

Maybe so. I'm sure that played a part but They did think enough of Dorsett to have him in for a visit which leads me to think they considered him regardless of "fit".

    Clearly they preferred perriman.

  9. I think if the Ravens had taken Dorsett, a lot of peripheral chatter would be centered around the notion that Ozzie killed rounds one and two instead of the trepidation being exhibited by many of us.

Here is the thing I keep coming back to: The Ravens had a very up close look at both prospects by way of pre-draft visit and they chose Perriman. That carries weight with me.

  10. i like rob, and the black dude on the morning show i cant remember his name. vinny just seems to stir the pot and he just speaks with too much conviction and is seriously closed minded, i dont like how he disrespects callers just because he disagrees with them even if theyre making a good point. there have been many times where ive thought about calling in just because i know i could make him look stupid and get him all riled up, but i just never do it lol. but yeah scott and jeremy are totally unqualified and need new jobs

The to b and vinnie show is unlistenable.

Two un-funny guys who think they are funny. All baseball all the time. No insightful analysis regarding football. Insipid.

  11. i watched a replay of the week 3 game in cleveland last night on nfl network and a few things struck me (besides it being a very good game).

    1.  torrey smith made some excellent plays in that game, i hope we won't miss his production

    2. i'm glad we still have steve smith and i hope and pray we get pitta back.

    3. jacoby jones has trouble catching the ball

    4. matt elam missed tackles and always seemed to be in the wrong place.

keep in mind, this was only this game i was observing, and it's different when you re-watch a game, as you look at elements you might not have before when caught up in the moment of winning vs. losing.

I watched that game recently as well. Elam's play was maddening....stupefying actually.

Major upgrades are needed in the secondary. Just watching Brian Hoyer own us is all anyone should need to see. We have to draft some talent who can compete to get on the field and not stand pat.

  12. See "Fox catcher". This film has a bizarre tension from the very first scene that can't quite be pin pointed.

The three lead actors are tremendous and the film making is wonderful.

Really the best film I have seen in a while. multi-leveled and deep. And it is a true story.
