I brought up the stats purely for that reason, because I don't see them as being very important when comparing Tim to Reddick, or really when comparing anyone to that matter (neither do I think you see stats in that way). However, you brought up that Tim had a lack of sacks at the end of the season and that it was worrying, and I said that if we're looking at stats then Tim has more sacks than Reddick. As for the "condescension" I don't see where I came off as that. I think my original post was misinformed, and I owned up to it and tried to best explain why I assumed you were claiming something else.

That's fair. I was off base. Sorry about that.

  2. I'm sorry, I've read Bleak House....twice but I'll admit, for now to having skimmed this novel.

Anyway....I think having Arizona go QB would be a good thing. Love Corey Davis.

2...makes me nervous but I like him off the edge...sense Ozzie would go Anderson as you suggest.

3....seen Moreau much higher but Witherspoon is my guy. In any case, I love two corners being taken.

I think Toth is a more sure oline prospect though he may be around a round later...I would prefer to a dress center.

Stats don't matter nearly as much as film, a player could perform perfectly and still not be able to make the play. In Charles Harris' last five games, he had 5.5 sacks, and Reddick only had 3. Harris and Williams played against stronger opposition too, so if we're going off of stats I guess Harris is more of a "special" guy than Reddick.

Yeah, I'm positive you read way too much into the post.

You see, I've actually watched these players and can form opinions ( admittedly  off the mark at times)on a player without needing to read up on what somebody else thinks.

i just did a mock - i might do a post tomorrow - where davis slid to us without ross going in the top 16

on a side note about mocks: i always find it hard mocking to other teams sometimes because there are so many seemingly left field media picks that i would love to happen because they drop guys i have valued higher on my big board but i cant justify in my head because i dont see why it happens lol - like ive seen taco charlton mocked ahead of our pick a lot but i dont see it so i didnt mock him there but in my head i wonder whether he will go and push back yet more great prospects to us... i always find myself maybe forcing 1 pick but all it would take is a team falling in love with ross or charlton or peppers or lamp or humphrey or bolles or any of the qbs and we end up with even more choices than we all initially envisioned - we are so stuck as a board in our valuations of players for the ravens that its hard to justify different valuations for other teams - i guess thats why eric decosta runs the draft (and evidently predicts it right) and not us

Post it. Mocks have dried up of late.

So are we all just in agreement that Max, Gillmore and Waller are all gonna go somewhere else and be decent?

I've said this before but...had Maxx been drafted by Pittsburgh he would be a budding star...certainly a fan favorite.

They probably would be doing some cutting edge stuff with him....you know, throwing him the ball.

Twice, in his rookie season he played entire games and was TARGETED.....zero times.

It depends. First, we gotta evaluate whether QBs are coming off the board or not. If we get to pick 12 and no QBs have gone yet, the targeted talent pool is likely to be tapped.

Secondly, we have to assess if there are any trade back options on the table.

If the browns pick at 12 and there still isn't a QB off the table, we will need to assess who is left and whether they are worth calling Arizona or Philadelphia to move up to take a designated player. If Davis, Williams, Barnett or Foster are there, I'd be game to trade up a few by giving up no more than a fourth or our third round comp--which would still be very steep to me.

In this draft though, i would love to have teams like the Giants and Buccaneers looking to trade up for Cook, McCaffrey, Ross, or Howard so that we could get extra third and fourth round picks while still having the chance to land prospects like Robinson, Harris, Tim Williams, Reddick, Conley, etc.

I'm beginning to get a little obsessed with the idea of Reddick at 16.

If he's there I'm not going to move back and risk not landing him.

We almost gave up our entire draft for Mack a few years back. So maybe not as isolated as we think.

If a guy they think is near the #1 talent in the draft and he's falling they'll be on the phone to see what it'd take.

The price ultimately will determine if its realistic or not.

Barnett I think would be a real option for this type scenario. I could see Mike Williams being another.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised - though Def more of an outside chance - if Adams/Hooker or FournetteFournette were that kind of prospect for them.

Not needs but we usually know when a guy is a generational talent. And I could see them viewing any one of them that way.

Fournette is an interesting one. I could see Ozzie valuing him enough to move.

For me, the issue now is it is, "Joe needs to play better, but... (insert 10 excuses here)." For me, there is no but. He isn't playing well and his play last year hindered the team.

I know he's capable of better, so let's not make excuses.

    On point and succinct.

Carr can tackle. At least he tries to

Witherspoon mostly does try to minimize contact. He goes ankles low, for example....he doesn't see his target generally and he is often seen sort of lurking just in case instead of sticking his head in there.

These things can be coached out of him and I just can't get over the guy in coverage. Very sticky...super instinctive corner.

I like it alot-  I just think we certainly will take a receiver somewhere. We almost have to with Aiken departing and Steve retiring. We really only have 2 receivers that are set in stone ( Wallace, Perriman) Moore and camp should be a sure thing but that's still only 4. Assuming we pick up 1 off the open market that leaves ATLEAST 1 spot. 2 if we end up rollin with 7...

You're probably right. Not sure where I would go receiver in that light.

Could go Strickler over Elder in round four .......Perhaps.

We are so in need at so many positions....O LINE, RB, WR, EDGE, DB, ILB, etc.

I think the Jalen Ramsey situation might be an isolated one. I think that since corner was a desperate need it might have driven them more. At this point, the only "desperate needs" in my mind would be pass rusher, OL or receiver. So if Barnett is sliding I think that they would consider it, but I don't think the receivers and linemen in this class are really guys to jump up for.

I'm not sure about last year being peculiar. Ozzie has attempted to move up before last year.

I do agree with your assessment about this class. Perhaps if the free safety were close Ozzie would jump but we are likely to get an impact player just by staying put.

  12. In addition to being a physical grinding run blocker, Cam is very athletic on the move and finding peripheral and second level blocks.

Sounds like an all pro guard but I believe he can more than hold his own at either tackle spot. I prefer him at guard, then RT, then LT.

In any case, many are discounting the value he brings in terms of upside and versatility. The same, to a lesser degree can be said about Alex Lewis.

Lewis, Yanda, Elflein, Robinson, Stanley .....this could be absolutely a dominant, versatile, group for years.

I also like Toth at center and he could be had in the fifth round though he lacks Elfleins versatility.

I like it. Like you said, pick 16 is all about adding special talents and Reddick definitely is. He could also make an interesting duo with Correa, with two guys that can both blitz or drop, which wouls bring a lot of chaos. Anderson is a Judon type of player, nothing that looks really special but he'll still play and play well on Sunday because he's a football player. Also really a fan of Witherspoon and Asiata.

I agree about the mixing/disguising of and between he and Correa.

Reddick can really be lined up all over and the offense has to find him and account for him.

Reddick could be switched to a more traditional  and full time 34 olb in our system into next year and really be a dominant pass rusher. Hopefully working Correa in this year will pay dividends.

Judon, Anderson, Reddick, Correa,Kaufusi best case scenario would be formidable for years.

  14. ROUND ONE - HAASON REDDICK - LINEBACKER, TEMPLE

This isn't close to a reach to me. Reddick is a special talent and he will only get better. It's no secret that we need a chase linebacker alongside CJ and that's one of the ways they use him. They'll find ways to send him on blitzes,  bring him from inside, line him up on the edge certain downs.

He is great in coverage and great at getting to quarterbacks. There's a chance this guy can add 12- 15 and move outside full time next year. You need someone special at sixteen and Reddick fits the bill.

ROUND TWO- RYAN ANDERSON- OLB, ALABAMA

I wanted to project Watt, Harris or Williams slipping to us here. It's possible but not likely...if Watt slid and we got him to go along with Reddick, my head might explode. Anyway,

Anderson is without a doubt, an Ozzieesque pick. He is smart, physical, and loves football.  Has a knack for getting in the backfield and causing turnovers. Has very good, powerful hands to clear himself. Stronger than he appears and has jolt in his hand. Physical tackler.....around the ball constantly and makes effort plays. Not an elite athlete but is constantly working. A difference maker who can punish ball carriers.

We can land two physical, passionate cornerstone type players right off the bat.

    3) AKHELLO WITHERSPOON - CB, COLORADO

Can't say enough about this guy...how underrated he is. He is a GREAT cover corner....better than his teammate, Awuzie who gets more run, better than a lot of guys who are more well known.

I put his cover skills just under Lattimore and Jones. Put this guy on an island. Great feet, great make up speed, great ball skills  and he makes it look easy. Phenomenal one on one in the red zone.

A liability in the run game, there's no hiding that on tape but he can improve. An absolute steal .

    3) ISAAC ASIATA, G/C, UTAH

Just nasty. can play either guard spot...a first year starter at left guard. Intimidating, Tough guy....he and Stanley from great tandem moving forward.

    4) CORNELIUS ELDER, CB, MIAMI

Sorry, but I'm not taking this guy out of the mock. Don't care about him being relegated to covering smallish receivers or playing the slot. We absolutely need quality corners. Watch his tape. Great value.

    5)  JON TOTH, C , KENTUCKY

Four year starter in SEC. Anchors consistently against bull rush...plenty strong, marginal athlete but smart and physical. Upgrades position year one. A find sitting there in fifth round.

    6) GEORGE KITTLE, TE, IOWA

A true two way tight end. Awesome and fierce blocking tight end who can run. A good receiver with size and speed. No doubt this guy has starting ability. Very underrated and I can't pass him up no matter the log jam.
