  1. Corey Davis Hoping for Reddick
  2. I've heard it said that he was top 15 talent....still kind of subjective but assuming he was, he still doesn't start year one( or two) and if our first round selection at 16 is a core special teams player it isn't a good pick to me. I could be wrong....maybe he starts opposite Jimmy year one but he has substantial concerns in man coverage.
  3. Jimmy took two years to begin to work out these concerns.....he was better than Humphrey coming out and went late 1st.
  4. Jimmy smith was drafted 27th overall. This is about the range I would take Humphrey.
  5. The proof is ultimately in the play. I can understand not wanting Cam at sixteen but if midway through the season, we are moving and scoring the football, if Joe has ample time to make reads and if it appears we have two stalwart bookends for the next five years, all will be well. Sometimes the context of a full draft, rounds 1-6 can soften a disappointing first round selection. And a little distance can and add perspective.
  6. If we take a corner that high, I'd have to be able to trust him in man. I'm not comfortable with Humphrey. He bites on double moves from guys I've never heard of. Gets panicky when someone gets a step, doesn't turn to find ball and has poor awareness. You often see him lose right off the line to quick receivers. His limitations in man are covered at times by Alabama's ability to get to the quarterback....I see him beat but quarterback is running for his life. I do see his potential and I love his physicality but don't get him that early.
  7. It wouldn't surprise me if The Ravens took Cam. Certainly see it as greater than a zero chance. I would say I'm not as high on Barnett as most everyone else seems to be but I don't see him falling to the end of round one. Reddick would definitely be my first choice in this scenario. How do you imagine Humphrey being used year one?
  8. I like Peterman. I think he goes earlier but, you could be right. I don't hate Humphrey, just would flip if we took him over Davis, Reddick, Jonathan Allen, Barnett, Robinson, Bolles, Cook...... Humphrey to me is more of a late one, early two pick to me.
  9. If we take Humphrey at 16 I am officially "sunsetting" my posts approximately one week after the draft. Not to mention the guys you still have available. 2 like Lawson It would surprise if petermen gets too far beyond round two.... I do like the player and would consider him earlier.........and Moton where you have seems unrealistic. I appreciate you going at your mock from a different perspective than most but can't get on board with Humphrey there.
  10. Theoretically, the second of our third round selections would more than get us to the top of the second round. Or perhaps a fourth or even a fifth might do the trick if the move was not so fantastic. In any case, who are the players you would move to get ? How far would you move and what you trade to procure ? Some players who could be available; Tim Williams Budda Baker TJ Watt Rueben Foster Malik McDowell Dalvin Cook
  11. TRADE IN ROUND ONE: RAVENS SWAP FIRST ROUND SELECTION WITH HOUSTON, GARNERING ADDITIONAL SECOND ROUND PICK (57). Houston moves to get quarterback in front of Redskins. ROUND ONE (25), RAVENS SELECT : GARETT BOLLES- TACKLE, UTAH This guy is supremely athletic. This isn't simple hyperbole. He really is special athletically. Plays with nasty edge. I'm not sure how he shakes out position wise. I suspect at right tackle but I think he would fit anywhere on the line. Needs to add weight and become stronger but adds versatility and great athleticism. ROUND TWO, RAVENS SELECT: RYAN ANDERSON - OLB, ALABAMA Just a Raven type player through and through. Tough, non stop physical football player. Powerful hands jolting tackles. Assignment sound and undervalued off the edge. ROUND TWO, ( From Texans), RAVENS SELECT: PAT ELFLEIN - C/G, OHIO STATE Another versatile lineman. Will start at center. ROUND THREE, RAVENS SELECT: AKHELLO WITHERSPOON, DB, COLORADO Big surprise, I know. Terrific corner. ROUND THREE, RAVENS SELECT: RYAN SWITZER, WR, NORTH CAROLINA Not sure if this is a bit rich but I don't think it's worth waiting to find out. Will be as productive as projected first round receivers from this draft out of the slot. Joe will love playing with this guy. ROUND FOUR, RAVENS SELECT: JOE MATHIS, OLB, WASHINGTON Injuries and limited tape are the only question marks I have for this guy. A Better overall player than Tim Williams, better pass rusher than Takkarist McKinley. A steal if he's healthy. The thought of he and Anderson together...... ROUND FIVE, RAVENS SELECT: CHANNING STRIBBLING, DB, MICHIGAN a favorite of mine. Long...good ball skills. Good awareness in run game. Needs more weight. ROUND SIX, RAVENS SELECT: JORDAN WESTERKAMP, WR, NEBRASKA Fearless over the middle, great hands. Very competitive. Will high point ball and routinely wins in tight space and contested 50/50 situations.
  12. I see it as more likely Barnett is on the board than Corey Davis. It will surprise me to see Tim Williams available mid two. Round six I like a lot.
  13. That's sort of why I brought it up though. If someone you have ranked as a first round player is there and he is by the teams estimation, "a playmaker", then it ought to be a consideration. And, certainly the player selected in round one carries weight in deciding. This is self evident. And, you're right, all of this is "meaningless" fodder to an extent but all of this indulges in the hypothetical. so does imagining the list of players you mentioned might be around to select or not. It may not be as prohibitive to move as you think. Moving all the way to one according to trade value chart ( as nothing more than a guideline) would simply cost a third rounder and according to the numbers, most likely yield a fourth or at least a fifth in return...to go to pick one. So, if you had a coveted player at 38 as you suggest, and you could get an early four in return........ You pick the player....mine are incomplete and mere suggestion.
  14. You won't get Foster, Watt, McDowell (fill in your favorite early 2 late 1 prospect) in the third round. Unless you uncover a gem that no one anticipated, your not going to get as impactful a player in the third round.
  15. If that's the case, then they have a mandate to draft even more lineman. 2016 Ryan Kelly, C Leraven Clark, T Joe Haeg, T/G Austin Blythe, C Hassan Ridgeway, DT
  16. An exceptional talent trumps (to me), a third round selection that fills a positional need. Particularly if the player in the third round is a developmental special teams player year one. I agree it's more likely we trade down in round two.
  17. You forgot about Jake Butt
  18. I would trade a third round pick to get Watt in a second (assuming I would have to move to the browns spot to do it)....McDowell in a little more than a second
  19. Teams have concerns about his long term health as well. There are reports he might need a second shoulder surgery. Starting to make Tim Williams appear a safe pick.
  20. I don't know about Foster at this point. Hard to imagine someone not taking him late in the first at least but if he falls that far it's a possibility. His medical and face to face sit downs probably determine that more than his diluted sample but this doesn't help him either.
  21. He strikes me as a guy the Ravens would like as well. He met with each team in our division and worked out privately with the Steelers. Could be a bit of a sleeper pick taken way earlier than we suppose.
  22. I'm really not crazy about any of the projected 2nd receivers. But do you think Zay Jones goes before our pick? I wouldn't expect we would need to move quite as far or give up quite as much.
  23. It was Jernigan.
  24. Has anybody watched/formed an opinion on Marcus Maye?
  25. Walter Football also linking McCaffrey to the BENGALS, jets and Panthers inside top ten.
