  1. He's being way overrated ( Awuzie) Ross is mocked to us a lot.
  2. Ryan Anderson is the guy I'm seeing as well. Also giving a good look at Willis as a possibility.
  3. One of the problems I have is that it is necessary for me to offer limited observations on many of these players as you have selected guys with limited available film, at least that I've been able to find thus far. In any case, here goes. 1) Davis will be the best receiver the ravens have ever drafted. Like the player and the pick....has potential to be star. Reminds me of Terrell Owens after the catch. 2) feels like a need pick and too early. I can see where you're coming from....assuming he won't be there round three and filling a need. I'm not sure I like him down to down in the film I've watched. He's sometimes quick off the ball when rushing, sometimes not. I don't like him as much as Judon coming out and you better believe Harbaugh makes him prove himself on teams, ....in other words, I doubt he sees defensive snaps this year. A year from now, he could very well be something..... 3) I do like both Asiata and Wilson. To this point in your mock, Davis and Asiata , I believe would be starters and I'm convince Wilson will be a good corner for us. I love how he plays both the run and the ball. 4) feels like a checklist pick to me....could be wrong about that but I'm going corner here. 5) Elijah Lee is an example of a player I dismissed too quickly. I've only seen vs. Stanford but if he plays that way consistently, we have a gem. Fast to diagnose and pursue...has some pop in taking on blocks...good open field tackler....sometimes tackles too high but gets the guy down. Doesn't hesitate to make decisions and fire his gun. Athletic guy in coverage...sticks his man but needs to get better at finding the ball and reading receiver. I like the player and great value. I to me, this mock lands three...perhaps four starters but misses something in rounds two and four. I'm finding it difficult to project an edge player in round two without a sort of slide...... I like this generally with a few tweaks.
  4. I'm not adverse to him catching dump offs. I wouldn't worry about him being used that way as much as he might have been in college. I stated two months ago that he might well be the BPA at sixteen and was told I was high as a kite. I feel the same about him, though it seems he may be gone before we pick( after the combine performance). You want to run the ball? He provides great inline blocking. You want Joe to have weapons? To me he is so multidimensional it's a no brainer if he's there. I think the convincing you need is the same that I need. It isn't the player....it's our coaching staff. Will they get the most out of this guy? Do they have a plan to threaten all over the field ? Frankly, I'm not sure I have faith that they do. In that regard alone, I would lean toward not taking him in favor of an edge player or even a wideout.
  5. I'm not ready to give up on him outside. I think he can be an effective situational pass rusher. I'm hoping he comes back stronger and with hands. He's always had a burst .
  6. We may have a clearer indication as to how settled or unsettled they are in a month or so. If we meet with a player it's always an indication of interest. Either it is genuine interest or a feigned interest for effect but it always matters.
  7. It isn't definitive by any measure but it means something. According to Walter they've met with 9 players...Two are projected high round ILB. IT DOESN'T mean they'll mean target them as such. Clearly, it doesn't mean they're chasing after them. It means to me they value a chase linebacker next to CJ in this defense and even though some want that to be Correa.....I doubt it will be.
  8. They've also met with Zach Cunningham....... Two early round guys. This suggests to me that they are not comfortable with Correa at ILB.
  9. Ok. But all those guys with the exception of Dawkins are mid 1 to early 2.
  10. Yeah, Jones feels like Cleveland.
  11. Overall, I find this mock disappointing and unrealistic (of course, no one knows where a player will go for certain to be sure but I won't resist pretending I do). 1) I like Williams but I'd be curious as to else you have available at your projected selection. 2) Jones makes sense because of value but you selected no other CB'S in this mock.....leaving us staying pat this year at the position as Jones will likely miss. In a year with so many guys available in mid rounds with potential to start, my opinion is you miss out majorly in that regard. 3) Like to see Elflein there but I really doubt it. Great pro ready and versatile lineman would offer crazy fortune if he were there. 3) I've watched Bowser....tell me what convinces you about him? 4) Moton probably not there. 5) haven't watched 6) probably my favorite pick.....a future starter for us.
  12. Nothing to argue over picks one or two. If moving into round three has us with Barnett and Elflein in tow, I'd say our draft is already a very good one. I'll echo the sentiment regarding Kupp being unavailable....have questions about King being there but round three would certainly be good value. I like the player. I think Davenport could be your most under the radar selection. Doubt Kaezee is there. All in all, if we came out with Elflein, Barnett and King and perhaps a ebony or wideout in round 5, I'd be pretty pleased.
  13. I wasn't aware of his combine...just his film. I could buy Conley.....not Awuzie or lewis...haven't watched much of Moreau. Awuzie is not the man corner he is by a long shot. I need to watch more of White as well. By " ball skills ", I assume you mean more than just picks? Watch his man red zone coverage of Ross....and against Utah. He makes great plays on the ball. Oh, and he shut Ross down vs. Washington......coaches didn't put Awuzie on Ross.
  14. Akhello Witherspoon ; Cant/doesnt want to play the run to save his life. Let me get that out of the way. He is, however one of the better cover corners in this draft. I'm really impressed by his ability to mirror receivers in man. He has great make up speed and doesn't get beat deep. He is the Colorado corner asked most often to shadow the opposition's best receiver. Very, very impressive one on one in the red zone. Understands how to defend and spot a fade, back shoulder and a quick slant on an island and displays great ball skills , usually making the play. Nearly always in good position to make a play on the ball....poorly timed leaps at times, however. Very quick feet....appears natural, easy and under control. Tackling must improve. Havent seen all the corners in this class but as a pure cover corner, based on the games available, I put only Lattimore and Jones above him.
  15. What I'm saying is that more should be expected of him. There's no acceptable reason why we shouldn't see the Joe we saw week 16 in Pittsburgh on a regular basis. That was a guy someone would give up three first rounders for. That was elite quarterback play. That was inspired. That was a leader guys will follow. More importantly, that is what he's capable of being and he should be held to that standard.
  16. The folks that go routinely to the wall for Flacco give him too little credit.
  17. I'm not ready to say that. Carr, to me is the definition of serviceable....not a bad thing but I'm expecting us to upgrade through draft as well.
  18. Sorry. I didn't mean for that to sound like I was directing that your way.
  19. If he were to be around, late 2, it would be costly I'm guessing. Trade chart says our two third rounders would be enough to move with Dallas, say or Kansas city, but it might take more to get a team to move twenty spots and lose their two. Would you throw in a 4 ( two 3's and our 4) for Kupp and their 5, let's say?
  20. No. It leaves him in a lurch , at least inside. Talented guy but he won't compete with Reddick. Watch him.
  21. Williams has answers and options. He sets guys up and drops the hammer. He's actually quite rare and I'm fine with him as a run defender who can improve. He strikes fear in tackles.
  22. Didn't mean at 16. I'm thinking 2nd or 3rd round guys in this draft, maybe later that could beat him out and start.
  23. Or draft a stud CB who wins a starting job.
  24. I really liked the Jernigan selection but Jarvis Landry would have been perfect for this team.
  25. He's always been the pure pass rusher in this class. Funny how much people's opinion are suddenly changing on this guy.
