  1. We've been so fortunate that Joe Flacco has been healthy for such a long time, but I would be shocked if he returns from injury and then goes another 5 years without missing a game.

From experience, once you tear your cruciate ligaments, they're never quite as strong as they originally were. Flacco's health won't be as dependable as it once was, and unfortunately, opposing defensive players may even target his knees, so a decent back up will be required going forward.

For now, I'd be more than happy with bringing in Renner.

  2. Another guy on the trade block who would be interesting is Mychal Kendricks.

I know ILB isn't a massive need, but Daryl Smith isn't getting any younger, and behind him we only have Albert McClennan and Arthur Brown (who I'm worried looks like a bust).

Kendricks is only 24, and is proven quality with serious All Pro potential. The prospect of having Kendricks and Mosley playing alongside one another for the rest of the decade would really excite me. He's still on his rookie deal for one more season too, so he'd cost next to nothing until next year.

I know Ozzie doesn't like to give up draft picks, but it's got to be worth contacting the Eagles just to find out what they're asking for him. Draft picks are great, but if a young, talented playmaker who has proven he can play at a high level in this league is available, why risk the chance of a bust?

I've heard a lot of speculation about what Chip Kelly will accept for Kendricks. Considering we're not picking until 26 in the draft, I think I'd give up a 2nd round pick for him.

We're known for picking BPA, and I'm not sure there's going to be a better player available by the time of the 58th pick.

  3. If Clowney gets healthy this year, that Texans D line will be terrifying.

JJ Watt, Vince Wilfork, Jadeveon Clowney with Louis Nix III and Jared Crick as back ups.

I like the work they've done this offseason on defense. Rahim Moore was another decent signing.

You have to worry about their offense though.

There is an old saying "if you have two starting quarterbacks, you don't have one." - well Houston potentially have three with Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett and Tom Savage. With one of those at QB, I can't really see Houston doing much should they make it to the post season.

I can totally understand letting Andre Johnson leave, but they'll need to draft plug and play starters on offense if they want to make the playoffs. Cecil Shorts and DeAndre Hopkins are solid receivers, but aren't talented enough to make their QB look better than he is. Garrett Graham again is solid enough, but he's not exactly going to inspire fear in opposing defenses, and whilst Arian Foster is an elite RB when healthy, I can't see him making it through a full 16 game schedule.

They're going in the right direction, and I'll be keeping an eye on them in the draft. I see them as having an outside chance of going for Mariota should he fall.

  4. Wilfork would interest me depending on how much money he'd ask for.

But one guy no one is speaking about is BJ Raji. Has he signed a contract yet?

He's struggled a bit over the last couple of years, and I put that down to injury. If we feel that we could get him healthy and performing someone near his best, he could be a real bargain.

  5. Out of the released wide receivers, Stevie Johnson really tempts me.

He performed at a high level when being thrown the ball by Ryan Fitzpatrick. If he came to Baltimore, he could get back to performing at a high level.

He'd be much cheaper than Dwayne Bowe, Michael Crabtree or Greg Jennings.

I'm expecting Bowe to be overpaid (likely by Cleveland). I'd happily take either of Crabtree or Jennings, but I'd expect Johnson to be cheaper than either.

  6. Would love to have him... pretty comparable to Owen Daniels, but with more upside and a bigger red zone target. Probably cheaper too.

With Miami signing Jordan cameron, that could make Charles Clay available to claim as well... idk if i see them keeping both but could be wrong.

And with Trent Richardson being cut by the Colts, anyone think it's worth a min contract that make him our backup? I honestly dont think he'll turn it around but who knows, with our O-line and blocking scheme maybe he could do well.

I definitely think T Rich would be worth a look. He's not going to cost much at all, and who knows? Maybe he could flourish in our system. No one expected anything from Forsett, so who's to say that Richardson couldn't flourish in new surroundings?

I doubt he'll ever be an elite workhorse back, but he could be useful for short yardage situations.

  7. I don't know if I'd say replacement. Hartline brings a sure handed, good route runner who's effective in the short to intermediate game. He's certainly not fast and won't be stretching the field for you. He's definitely someone I hope the Ravens consider, but I still think they'd want that vertical threat

Hmm... Hartline used to be a similar player to Torrey. He was always a quick deep threat kind of receiver.

I've not watched too many Miami games over the last couple of years though, has he lost his pace? I remember being surprised when they signed Wallace, as I thought he seemed a similar player to Hartline.

The way you describe him sounds like someone we could use anyway. I doubt he'd be too expensive, so I'd hope we take a serious look at him.

  8. It may not be a real position of need, but I'd take a look at Calgary center Brett Jones. He's was the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2013, and in 2014 won the award for the Most Outstanding Lineman. He's only 23 years old, and at 6ft 2in, 310lbs, is the ideal size for an NFL interior lineman.

Jones was calling the blocking assignments for a Calgary team which allowed the fewest sacks and let the league in rushing in 2014. He may have flown under the radar a bit due to playing college football in Canada at Regina, but he's considered by many to be the top free agent in Canada, and now that he is free to speak to NFL teams, I'd be disappointed if we didn't consider him.

  9. From Reading in England. Roughly 40 miles from London.

Have lots of family in America. Got a cousin in Centerville TX, a cousin in DC, step brother and sister in Roanoke VA, and loads of my stepmother's family are around Bridgeport CT.

Most of the family are Steelers fans, so looking forward to going to a Steelers/Ravens game next time I'm over there.
