Just because our team sucks doesn't mean the whole sport is taking a hit. Ratings are at an all time high. I still enjoy watching other games. Probably nothing else I'd rather watch than football.
Im sure if we were undefeated there wouldn't be any talk of lack of luster lol.
I disagree. I saw what brady did without gronk and please don't tell me that edleman or amendola would be world beaters playing for us.
Brady's offense is dink and dunk king. Edleman basically only catches 10 yard passes the entire game (Was the same with Wes Welker) and those how its been with Bradys TE's and RBs. Ravens could do that if their OC would try it. Comparing Flacco to Brady is unfair IMO as Brady is obviously a hands down HOF QB although I'd argue he'd be less effective on a crappy team with no kind of offensive coordinator.
I think people are frustrated by this guy because of the lack of information we are hearing about his injury. It feels like Sergio Kindle all over again.
well the dude did call probably 75% of the plays when he was here...
You think a MLB called 75% of the defensive formations on a professional football team? Surely that was sarcasm? O.o
Its just an emotional overreaction by certain fans, nothing more.
They're trying to get back to the "good old days" when we played "smash mouth" defense and we laid bone crushing hits on our opponents, despite that brand of football being largely non existent in the NFL these days and it certainly not fitting the mold of the personnel we have right now.
The people who want Ray as DC just want a motivator/cheerleader... they don't really want a coach. There's a difference between the two.
Huge difference, Ray Lewis said himself that he wanted to spend more time with his family and that being a coach would put him back in the same boat he was as a player and thats away from his family.
So a guy who's never coached before on any level is the answer to our defensive woes because he used to be a good player? ok
It would be a terrible decision and I would really question the Ravens front office if they did that.
I'll also say this, Ben set the bar for the type of Quarterback you need to win this division. Don't like him much, but he's earned my respect that's for sure.
Can't argue that
If Roethlisberger waso trim like most QB's, he would be done by now considering the beating he takes.
He certainly can take some hits thats for sure. Manning would of been long retired lol. He has barely been touched in his career and looks terrible after his neck injury.
maybe he'll play and get 500 yards each of the last two weeks ; ;
Hardy is only playing cause he is still a good player. Had Ray Rice had a great season before his incident he'd be on the team. Just like Adrian Peterson. As with everything in life, if people feel you have value then they will give you another chance.
Yes! I really want BP to pan out and then we can sign all the vets we want lol
In my mind he'll turn into a Julio Jones and it'll be magical. I wish..
Pleaseeeee practice this week and be a situational deep threat against Jax
I just want ONE WR who can grow with Flacco and is not on the downside of their career. Steve Smith is amazing but he is not 29. I hope he can be the guy.
Ozzie should never draft WRs early in the draft again.
Give me some freaking news
Normally I am against my team tossing money at Free Agents but when it comes to WRs I think the Ravens should stick to Free Agency to fill that role lol.
He's been "fat"... and I mean "fat".... the last few years.
And hes only gotten better and better at throwing the ball!
You don't think millions of dollars and adoration of fans is incentive to ruin their body?
lmao most of the players in the NFL don't make enough to ruin their body. Not every player makes 15 million a season so I don't think its worth it. By rich standards, NFL players are not even really that wealthy.
Probably true, but it shouldn't be.
He is a warrior no question but the guy has had his bell rung more than a few times. He wont grow old gracefully.
Because nobody is going to care down the line when he crippled due to his constant injuries he should consider retirement in a few. He is not going to be like Brady and play to 40, he takes too many hits. There is no incentive for these players to ruin their body over a game.
It would be insane if the Ravens made it to the playoffs after such a dispointing and heartbreaking start. It looks impossible, but still possible.
I would cut my high-top fade that is like 6 inches high off we made it.
Even if they did I think it won't be because the defense got too much better and in the end they'd lose in the first round to a team with a good offense. Would be very exciting thought.
Over the last 5 years?....You really think so?
Come on man.
Offense wise the Bengals outdraft the Ravens for sure but a great team isn't a great team until it wins something. Marvin Lewis has 0 playoff wins with a team that pound for pound has been better than the Ravens for years. If he can't win a playoff game this season with a stacked team, he should be fired. This Bengals team is more talanted than the last Ravens SB team. If they go one and done I will be checking Jungle Noise to see their reaction.
Bengals #1 in the league first time since year 1549, kudos to Marvin Lewis.
If they can't win a playoff game with that stacked team they should fire him IMO. It's worlds better than the last Ravens SB team. If Dalton can't make it happen in the playoffs there is literally nothing else that team needs.
Hmm... One can only wish we had guys who could separate and catch!
We seen what he can do with real weapons, hang with almost any QB in the league in big games. Flacco is a guy if given the right pieces, can make things happen. He is not a top 5 HOF QB, but you don't need to be to win any game in the NFL. Not even a SB.
I'm sure Torrey Smith will carry them to the SB with his 2 TDs on the year lol.
Theres no blocking anywhere in San Diego....its amazing Rivers is putting up the yards that he is.
Good thing you used the word "generally" because Pernell McPhee is tearing it up for the Bears. A monster.
Well its not something that exists with 100% certainty, most of the time players who leave simply do not play well but exceptions do exist. I loved Paul Krugers energy when he was with the Ravens. He's only had 1/3 good seasons with the Browns though. I'll always wonder what he might have done for the Ravens.
If the Ravens brought Jacoby back, I would be elated. Anything that would bring something positive to the fan base and energize them, would carry over the to players and that in no way is a negative in any sense. At this point in our season, with a lot of home games coming up, anything that energizes, pushes and motivates is welcome imho. Harbs even spoke to that fact in a recent presser.
Jacoby would be an added option to stretch the field, and that would help the short passing game and the run game on the offensive side.
A returner is only as good as the unit blocking for him. We have a pretty good special teams unit at this point, and I would love to see what Jacoby could do behind Mostert and a couple of others blocking for him. You best believe if Jacoby was back there on game days, teams would be game planning for him.
That would last about as long until he fumbled a punt return or dropped an easy third down pass IMO
I feel like JJ and Ross are the same.. expect Ross hands are like a B...JJ's hands are like a D+
JJ overall is like a C- WR good for maybe 2 flash catches per game but nothing consistent.

I can agree with that
