I respect you admitting your error in judgment. I was one of the guys lobbying for him- I think he has done a great job but we are asking entirely too much from him. He's not a number 1 or even number 2 receiver. But he's handled it like a champ and gotten the job done. He's a class act too. I think that next year when we actually get somebody to stretch the feild and get perriman back guys like Aiken will really benefit and light it up.
Boy was I wrong about Marlon brown though. However I don't think almost anybody could have predicted this bad of a year from him. I didn't expect him to rack up many yards but I thought he would atleast catch some touchdowns for us and stand out in the redzone.
I hate being wrong about him too, I really thought he'd be really reliable.
Yes, let's fire everyone because our third string team couldn't beat a 1st string team.
Over reaction by thin skinned "fans."
ikr this was a Super Bowl team vs backups and bums. Seahawks did what any playoff team would do, not lay an egg against a terrible team.
0 Weapons on this team lol
Our offense needs to stop putting Tucker in a position to kick 50+ yard FGs in order to put points on the board.
Hindsight being 20/20 if Tucker kicks a FG instead of the failed 4th down from inside the one yard line, we win!
BTW, if I was coaching I would have went for it also, we have nothing to lose at that point.
I agree
He is who we thought he is.
He played exactly how I knew he would. Flashes of magic and picks at the worst time. Flacco has played similar this season but thats not generally who he is. Schaub is a pick six master.
I wanted the scrub to play, shucks!
There are like 50 bad QBs in the NFL let alone college. I think what people like him and I don't understand is why it has to be pointed out that he's a bad QB so often.
When a team signs Case Keenum for example, there aren't a million people pointing out how bad he is.
And it can't be denied, that as bad as Tebow may be as a thrower of the football - and I say thrower for a reason, because while throwing is a main function of the QB it's not the only thing he's responsible for - the guy has had success in the NFL... Has made many big plays in big situations... And done a lot more than even several starters currently in the league.
A QBs job is to run the offense, move the ball and score points to win games. The guys sucks at throwing the ball, but when necessary he can move the ball, lead a team and win.
And, to your point on him not beating the Steelers and Ryan Clark losing - he still had to make the throw. And he had to play an entire game to get to overtime. He did do that and you can't take it away from him.
Not to mention all the 4th quarter comebacks to get to the playoffs.
Trust me I'm not a Tebow fanboy. I just don't understand why it's gotta be one extreme or the other. He's not great but he's not the worst QB of all time either. He is a proven winner, and to me that counts more than throwing a pretty ball. We've seen a ton of QBs that can throw the heck out of the ball but can't take their team to the playoffs and win a game.
Obviously, he does something right. You can't explain it, it doesn't really show up on tape, and it may be ugly a majority of the time... But in a tie game, 4th quarter with the ball and 2 minutes left - there aren't many guys with a better track record than Tebow, and that's supposed to be the measuring stick that separates the elite from the good.
We use that as a way to sometimes excuse Flaccos inconsistencies but Tebows accomplishments in that situation get ignored because he can't throw like a traditional QB. Seems silly to me.
Tebow has hype around him those other bums do not bring to the table. Some of my hate for Tebow comes from the fact that it feels like so many people (even Ravens fans) hate Flacco so much yet he has done so much more and then some. People are so ready to throw Flacco to the curb but then defend Tebow a guy who has not and I believe will never come close to helping a team winning a SB. I mean I understand what you're saying though.
Matt Schuab couldn't complete passes while throwing to Andre Johnson, Deandre Hopkins and Owen Daniels, with Arian Foster behind him.
That's what I'm worried about
Oh no id never pick him over Schaub either. Im also not giving him a free pass..I said he's not a great quarterback.
I do think that teams would be more willing to give him the opportunity to develop if the hype machine would die down a little bit. The circus that follows him and all of the attention has got to be a huge distraction.
I understand
I hate that people make fun of Tebow, He's religious....I personally am not, but I don't judge anyone for it, he doesn't get arrested, or KO his wife or anything that some of these guys do.
I watched all of the Eagles pre season games, I'll say this. I thought they should have kept him over Sanchez.
Tebow isn't a great qb, but he is also smart, takes care of the ball and takes what the defense gives him. That's why he beat the Steelers In the playoffs a few years ago.
He beat the Steelers cause the safety that was backing up Ryan Clark (he can't play in Denver) blew the coverage. I make fun of Tebow because he's a bad QB. I don't see why he gets a free pass by so many people yet people despite not being very good. I'm not saying you're giving him a free pass but its common. I would never ever pick him over Schaub and I don't like him either.
Tebow. Let;s at least have some energy.
I'd rather have Boller back lol
get pryor and tebow.
at least lets have some fun lol
Watching Tebow throw behind and at WRs feet is not fun ![]()
Jeff Fisher still can't beat the Ravens lmao
Calling it now. Joe will be back on the field before Perriman
Lol, that will be sad
The irony of it is this guy is perhaps the highest paid defensive back in the history of the game if you look at the amount he's played for the amount he's earned. Who cares how much he makes as a safety. He's made more than his share of money doing nothing but warm the benches since 2011...
true
Why would he not play safety? It will only make him more valuable to the Ravens.
Eventually he'd make less money since safetys generally don't get paid as much as CB's unless they are HOF types like Reed or Troy.
Ed reed, Ronnie Lott, John lynch, Sean Taylor, Brian Dawkins, just to name a few was play making safeties, not old but awesome. Safety is the most important position on defense. Every position have their own weight but safety is your last line of defense. The best front seven in the world can't stop 9 routes and deep post with a 3 step drop and launch. If a corner get burned, slips, etc the game lays in the hands of the safety. Saying old man is very disrespectful to that position.
I would argue the defensive line is the most important position on the defense. If your trenches are terrible, it won't matter if you have Revis, Nnamdi, Ed Reed and Polamalu back there. All positions on defense are important as weaknesses can be exploited, however a terrible Dline cripples the foundation of what a defense is trying to accomplish in my opinion.
If Safety is so easy to play then why haven't we found someone to play FS after Ed Reed left? It might take less physicality, but it's hardly an easy position to play. That said, I think Webb may be playing better than any other CB on the roster right now. You can play him at FS, but that means you still have a hole somewhere in your secondary.
Safety is easier to play than CB but the position itself is not easy.
Exactly! It's so much easier to get over a blowout compared to a close loss.
Although getting blown out is an indicate of how much worse your team really is. This Ravens team might be 3-4 players away from good. A team getting blown out might need an entire overhaul.
And despite our record, we've been fighting in every game. Take the Cardinals game for example when we were down 26-10. The players could have easily folded, but they continued to fight and eventually slimmed the lead to 26-18 until the end. One thing is apparent about the season.
Despite the numerous flaws with this team, they will continue to fight for Harbaugh and I respect the hell out of that.
They certainly have not thrown in the towel in any game this season. All the 3-4 point losses are brutal. You almost want a blowout just to avoid the heartache lol.
this. Remember when Tom Brady went down in week 1 and Matt Cassel took the patriots to a 11-5. Matt Cassel....
11-5 with a stacked team that won 18 games the season prior lol. He wouldn't win 10 games with last years NE's team IMO
Bens so consistent though. Flacco is as skip bayless (whom I'm not a fan of) said '' the best worst QB i've ever seen''.
He hit fire at the right time and boldin made some incredible plays. We had a bit of luck..which is needed
I'm just saying joe flacco is not even a very good QB/ He's a weird qb that can have elite flurries but generally plays average to below average for his career.
You're correct. He is a system QB though that needs some things in his favor to be successful Why the Ravens cannot provide him with this is beyond frustrating. Constant OC changes, bringing in weapons past their prime will never help Flacco. Ravens have had bad luck when it comes to offensive weapons however with the injuries or players simply not working out. At this point the Ravens should have an established offense that is somewhat consistent. Rice, Pitta, Jones, Boldin and Smith were well rounded enough to do that but, Rice acted stupid, Pitta kept getting hurt, Jones was well Jones which is inconsistent with bone head mistakes at times and Smith just showed that he can't be 'The Guy'. I liked Boldin though but one person was not going to save this offense.
Maybe he can get new breath in his career there.
yup
boldin made some incredible plays with some not so great passes from flacco in the playoffs. hence why i saw him as the true MVP
Why is it when other QBs constantly get bailed out by superstar WRs with circus catches all the credit is given to the QB. When Flacco gets a WR who can do the same its all on the WR and the QB basically played only the 'small' part of getting the ball there? Matt Ryan surrounded in big time weapons his entire career, Manning always had great WRs who could make big game catches. Big Ben as well, heck Hines Ward caught so many poorly thrown balls from Ben (namely the low passes) because he was able to get down low enough to grab him and again the QB got all the credit. I'm not saying you're doing it but it just looks like nobody wants to give Flacco credit for anything. When he had weapons that were playing great (Boldin, Pitta during the playoff run) he did what every other QB who wins big games does, win. He is not a HOF QB but he is not nearly as horrible as people make him out to be. In my opinion. With some of these people's logic, we could of had Boller at QB and won the SB.

If the Bengals lose in the playoffs AGAIN they should fire Marvin Lewis. How many more stacked teams will choke when it matters? How many playoff wins does the "bully" of the AFCN have? Get outta here.
