Okay, how about this.  Pitta is garbage as a blocker, both against the run and pass.  That means he's purely a receiving TE.  As a receiving TE, he was garbage as he couldn't stretch the field, his 1st down per pass ratio was one of the league's worst IIRC, and he wasn't even much of a TD threat.  His only contribution was catching the many 3 yard passes Joe threw him that the opposing team gladly gave him because it was rare for him to get yac.

I think he's done well considering nobody expected a man coming back from back to back hip injuries to do anything but soak up money. You have at least presented an argument in favor of releasing Pitta.

  2. Kid Dynamite.

It is crazy how we just watched him trot out there for these 50+ yard kicks and could basically just go take a bathroom break or grab a cold one, while other team's fans are biting their nails as their kicker heads out to kick a PAT.

Hope he can keep it up, if he can kick stead for the next 5-7 years I think he's HOF.

Pitta needs to be cut this season because Flacco will be forced to pay attention to the whole field of Ravens and more importantly the defenders around them. With Pitta, Joe became complacent just assuming as long as he didn't peel his eyes from Pitta and threw him a dart, it would be a completion. It didn't quite work out well for Flacco who threw plenty of INTs while focused on Pitta and making it obvious to even the not smart defensive players where Flacco was going. Without Pitta, Flacco will improve because he'll learn to see the whole field before making gut wrenching and bone headed decisions in throwing INTs on the goal line with the game on the line! We'll also save some cap space and give Maxx Williams to develop into that TE who was drafted in the 2nd round.

Your solution is to cut Pitta because of that? Lol you gotta be kidding me. Did we cut Ray Rice when Flacco kept checking down to him too?

  4. Still sticking with my original prediction for the season. 9-7. Split the next two games at best. Cannot see it any other way right now with the type of play that we see each week. A disappointing season to say the least. The team needs a leader and that has been evident since the retirement of Ray Lewis. That is on Harbs who has to have full control of he Locker room.

The goal is improvement on last seasons awful 5 win season. I think 9-7 means they improved a bit.

I'm asking how a quarterback can elevate the play of those around him, since that is what was posted exactly a page ago. It wasn't by you, so don't worry about it, but a great quarterback can't make receivers better.

I remember when the Patriots loss to the Colts in the AFCCG before the Colts won the SB? Patriots WRs were dropping everything and were awful. Since then, NE has made sure that Brady had at the very least people who could catch the ball. They even seem to have prioritized pass catching and route running WRs and TE's over any sort of speed. Tom Brady isn't making players better around him, the team actually finds people that fit their offensive scheme and those WRs, TEs and RBs thrive because of it.

  6. As a DB's asst coach....Ed Reed's valuable knowledge of the game will be handed down to a new generation of defenders.  What they do with it and what they become in the league as a result of it is totally up to them NOT Ed Reed!  Good grief!  Smh!

i mean if only Michael Jordan owned a team, they'd win the NBA championship every year for sure.

  7. The Chiefs are 18th in passing yards per games and 24th in points per game. Their offense not that respectable. The Jags are always very inconsistent. Also, the Rams have a horrible passing game (32nd in the league in pass yards per game) and the Dolphins love underperforming (22nd in passing yards per game).

The only consistently top tier passing attacks the Ravens faced were the Seahawks and the Steelers. They did good against one and gave up five passing touchdowns against the other.

Considering the Ravens made no name WRs looked like Moss, you could argue that even a low ranked passing offense should of still been able to exploit the Ravens if they had not improved at least a little bit.

  8. I'm glad the squealers won because cinci wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell at ne.

Now I'm back to the passionate dislike of them, especially after seeing porter on the field. scumbag And yes, he should have been penalized. A coach can be on the field to attend to an injured player(like the LB coach would be out there to check on a WR?  smh), but NEVER  touch an opposing player.  Just like Munchak got flagged early on, Porter should have as well.

I kept telling everyone the Bengals are choke artists. I remember that Ravens article about the Bengals being a AFCN Bully, please lol. I don't even hate the Bengals even when they beat the Ravens cause as far as Im concerned beating the Ravens is their Superbowl.

  9. I agree with that. Marvin sits at 0-6 for postseason play. 2 of those losses were before Dalton even got drafted in the NFL,, both were Home games,, both were with a Very talented roster too (Palmer, Ocho, Willie, Jones, etc.)

Seriously, how many organizations would stick with a coach if he went 0-4 or even 0-3 postseason? I would think not many.

If Marvin gets to 0-7 (which is VERY likely), they have to make a change. Wouldn't they?

^^as for the "Bully" comment,, I don't get that one either. All 3 AFCN teams strongly compete with each other each season. No "Bullies" here (unless you want to say that Pitt,Balt,Cin bully up on the Browns lol!

Ravens fans have been calling for Harbs to be fired and he has multiple playoff wins and a SB victory. I think Lewis has not been fire because despite their playoff losses their team has played better than almost any time in their existence.
