What if...again just what if....Ravens plan on focusing back to Webb's contract post June 1st. If they can't get a restructure, cut him, get 8 mil. That could mean drafting a high CB to replace him.
Post June 1 cut leaves $4 mil in dead money. Question is - what is 8 mil saved in space good for at that stage?
the 8 mil you save can only be used after june 1 which would do us no good at this moment.
The other thing is Webb could ply FS and I am more than comfortable with that also I think as a post June 1 cut he is like 6mil in dead money next year
whether it be Rollins or J. Shaw one of them *OR BOTH* need to be in the purple and black
Which positions will be first three picks?
As we know whatever the members wish for Oz picks his agenda. So for fantasy..A RB,WR then S
Ozzie has picked a MLB, S, and DT in the first three rounds the last two rounds
TE,WR,CR, then a RB
who do you take if..Gordon, Strong, Perriman, Maxx Williams, Peters are available at 26?
i just see so much of Anquan Boldin in Jaelen Strong. Strong's vertical and power to go up and snatch a ball is similar to Boldin's. And Flacco and Boldin had GREAT chemistry with each other. I think WR at 26 and then one more in the 4th. We've done that before and it makes sense honestly. Unless Perriman is available then I think he could be our Julio Jones kind of, but that's a different topic. I still think Strong and Flacco will be a great tag team in the air.
What concerns me is his agility, he lacks burst out of breaks and route running savvy. I've also heard he isn't nearly as strong as Q (an asset you can use when you're lacking quickness).
He could develop these qualities over time (strength, route running) or not.
Do you think he'll be able to seriously develop route craftyness and unpredictabilty? (some do some don't - e.g. Torrey)
jalen strong will not be in the black and purp
who would you take? Q. Rollins or J. Shaw? One should be a raven. Rollins has more upside than Shaw i think. But Shaw is a great press man.
Would the Ravens trade up for a receiver? if so, who?
If we could move up without giving up more than a third and a 5th, maybe. I don't think we'll risk the second round pick unless it's Amari Cooper, and even then I don't know if they'll do that.
I just really think Strong is our best option when it comes to a receiver in our vicinity of the draft, and i think other teams value his athleticism as much as the ravens do. If we can't get Strong in the first, we trade back and get more picks. More picks allow us to move up in the draft by trading as well. trading up in mid rounds would be awesome as well.
I could see them trading up for Agholor or Perriman in the 2nd, or trading up for Dezmin Lewis in the third. But probably not in the 1st.
wow...disappointed in Torrey. Thought he would appreciate home more than anyone else in the NFL. T-sizzle, Ray, Ed, all appreciated home more than money. Good luck to Torrey.
yeah i can't really blame him but i really had thought he was different compared to those other players that only care about $$ in the NFL
If he's going to SF, why would he leave upwards of 5 million dollars o the table just to stay at home.
Did Ray try to use the Cowboys as leverage to get more money. Money always talks. Glad Torrey made the best decision for him.
anyone else in awe...? a reach pick no doubt. the ravens defense needs a corner outside linebacker and inside linebacker. Offense needed another WR also, all more pressing needs than OT.
compare the team now to like 2 years ago-ish, we have so many holes like every where haha how are we at the top of our division?
i thought they drafted good players but i don't see any of them making a big impact, disappointing really. I would have given up Ronnie Staley and Bronson for Jalen Ramsey, an actual playmaking difference maker with immediate impact.
STANLEY will be the man....We got a ton of pass rush....we got some promising corners.....we got the WR the front office believes will be the next big thing, what else do you need man??
@juanman7 Im not denying that Stanley won't be the man, but he is not an immediate impact player, they don't even know if he will start! Pass rush is great sure, but that was one of our strengths on defense, we addressed the secondary with a nickel corner, and a very raw prospect, again both non immediate impact. And WR was not in that much of need either with everyone coming back and the signing of Wallace. This was a rebuilding draft not a "championship bound" draft
I'm disappointed in that.
Ok I'm looking ahead already haha but oh my goodness, I'm dying for the Ravens to get Desmond King no matter what. Please tell me thats why we were rebuilding in this draft.
I was hoping he would come out next year, but he will likely be a top 20ish pick so hopefully he will be in the cards next year. He is physical and has great ball skills, plus ideal size. Would love him here.
pretty pumped to see trent richardson in purple and black low risk high reward deal's are the best.
sure he may have been BPA but trade back! get more picks!
What TDubbs said
Without Tunsil nobody wanted to trade up, it takes two to tango, I'd take Stanley over a bad trade any day. After Tunsil's latest crap nobody wanted to trade up for him and that's understandable.
There are a lot of playmakers this offseason in the WR pool: Terrell Pryor, DeSean Jackson, Tedd Gina, Cordarelle Patterson, and Markus Wheaton. How awesome would it be to get one of these players with a good price?
Titans want to get back into top 10 and if Tunsil gets past the Chargers, Ravens could possibly trade back with Titans and get an additional 2nd rounder.
In that position I'd prefer us to take Tunsil, our franchise will be better off imo. It's always nice in theory to get another 2nd round pick, but what does that player become? Is he a Torrey Smith, Upshaw, Osemele or does he become a Sergio Kindle, Terrence Cody? Give me the day 1 franchise LT over extra picks.
I'd be pissed if Tunsil was there at six and we traded out.
look back when it was eric fisher and jake matthews for the no. 1 pick, both graded out to be day 1 starters and franchise players, but they haven't done anything. A lot of tackles in the first round are overhyped beyond measure and the ravens know that, thats why and how they find talent in the later rounds. Not to mention, ravens gave monroe a nice contract, so that man is gonna work for it no matter how bad he doesn't want to play.
trade back few spots and still draft VH3? possible
no bosa, i like treadwell or jack
and buckner
I think it would be risky. SF, PHI, TB, NYG could all reasonably take Hargreaves.
