  2. Eric Striker a gem? thoughts?

    1. hn68wb4

      hn68wb4

Doubt it...he doesn't fit any position well and doesn't have good enough strength to be an OLB in the 3-4 in the NFL. His athleticism may be able to carry him into a spot as a 4-3 OLB but I don't think he'll every have a large role in any defense.

      pechillo

wasn't the same said for Elvis Dumervil though? Sure he's small, but remember, the lower man wins when pass rushing. I think if he does build up more strength on his frame, then he could be a solid pass rusher. He definitely has the motor for it.

    3. hn68wb4

      hn68wb4

Doom was short, not small. Striker is just plain tiny. At the combine Doom showed tons of strength at the bench press and respectable speed, only his height cost him. Striker on tape is just weak, there's no way he can play DE/OLB in the NFL, he just doesn't have the strength to beat NFL caliber Olineman, he'll have to stand up at ILB or OLB.

  3. How much would it take to move up to #3??

not saying its going to happen, but just wondering

      hn68wb4

More than it's worth, moving up into the top 5 is stupid expensive.

  4. I had my doubts about Jalen Ramsey but MAN he looked solid at the combine! More athletic than I thought! I pray he's available at 6.

  5. oh geez, does that mean Ravens will look to draft Myles Jack? or look at free agency for ILB?

@Deflated Football well he just reminds me of shaw thompson from last year, and I wasn't a fan of his, no matter how athletic he is. Couldn't even see much of Myles this past year, it's a risky pick really.

just because we cut Daryl Smith doesn't mean we are going to draft Jack.  No GM in the right mind would cut a player when because they THINK they will be drafting jack or any player.   Ozzie will draft BPA and Jack is one of if not the BEST player in this DRAFT.  He is a true Swiss Army Knife and much much much more gifted than Shaq Thompson.  The guy can cover CB, WR, RB and TE.  He can play anywhere on the defense outside of LOS.  He's multi talented.

That being said I'm good with drafting Jack, Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey, Tunsil, Stanley, or Hargeaves and in no particular order.

  6. Really hope we could get back KO.

  7. so when can we get our top 5 defense back? That was the foundation of the Ravens.

lawrence guy was a real under the radar beast last year, him and deangelo tyson make for real good depth, but i agree that investing at DE somewhere in the draft would help big time. trey flowers in the 4th is a good option

    3. pechillo

      pechillo

being a solid DE is good don't get me wrong. But the Ravens have a way of always being DOMINANT. And obviously the most intimidating D-lineman on our team is Ngata. (Though if Brandon Williams ever got on the line with me I'd probably poop my pants)

    4. hn68wb4

      hn68wb4

i disagree pertaining to Ngata, i think there are multiple teams that would trade for him, Oakland and Detroit to name a couple. A team would trade for the guarentee that Ngata goes there, if he hits the open market and teams start bidding the price may exceed what he is now

  9. 2xWR, 2xTE, CB, RB, DT, DE/OLB, C, T. All 10 picks.

maybe one TE and one Safety. But I say two TE's cuz we did that with Pitta and Dickson and we kept one of them who turned out to be really good.

1-wr, 2.cb, 3.rb, 4.wr, 5.olb, 6.dt, 7.de, 8.ol(g) 9.and 10. best player available. this would be my draft sequence with our ten picks regardless of which round we draft in.ideally i want to see us trading out of the first round to get an extra 3rd or 4th round pick.

Putta and Dickson TE draft class was increbily strong. This TE draft class in very weak

You want to give more reps to players who have the potential to be big time players because you want more bang for your buck and thats the bottom line.

Hoping somebody steps up is why the ravens offense is held back yr in and yr out!! Brown has shown nothing special to suggest he could be a #1 receiver. And to many #3 receivers is the ravens problem!!

  11. And you people called me crazy for wanting to draft Jared Goff -__-

Flacco was still on pace for well over 4000 yards with basically zero weapons. I think that's as close to chicken salad as you can get. Chicken parm maybe?

jazz1988 If you really watch, Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees even back to Dan Marino they all have turned their decent WR corps to an above average WR group. If Edelman or Brandon LaFell or Marques Colston or Randall Cobb were to play for other QB's that are decent, they wouldn't put up the numbers that they had. Just look at Greg Jennings or James Jones, same situation. James Jones is doing pretty good right now because of Rodgers.

  12. Andre Johnson or Kenny Britt to the Ravens, I think one will likely happen. Britt rather than Johnson. for $$$ reasons

^agreed. I think he'd be a great addition to the team, but he's going to ask for too much and he's going to ask for the ball too much. I think a role WR is better than looking for a #1. I think we have our #1 with Steve Smith. He had an incredible year last year to start off. Slowed down a little bit towards the end, but still very productive. I would like Britt.

    3. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

We have plenty of role WRs on the roster now. We do need a #1 guy - big, physical guy that will make contested catches and can actually get separation. Smith Sr is great for his age, but not a true #1 any longer.

    4. pechillo

      pechillo

      I should've clarified, but yeah i agree.

  13. Another late round pick: Sean Davis/ Will Likely. Davis is more so the sure tackler and coverage guy. Will Likely is more so the playmaker, he'll try to make plays from anywhere on the field which lead to picks but also sloppy coverage at times.

    1. pechillo

      pechillo

still think we should get Karl Joseph no matter what. He's a playmaker flat out. I think he could've definitely been best safety this draft class if he didn't get injured.

    2. pechillo

      pechillo

Deon Bush is also an animal at tackling reminds me of Dawkins.

  14. bittersweet about Ngata. He cared about money more than winning another Super Bowl and helping out his team. But he also had an incredible career in B-more happy to have had him.

    1. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

We aren't the only team in the league with SB aspirations...

Ngata did what he decided was best for him, and that demands the respect of every fan. The team 100% of the time does what is in their perceived best interest, and players demand the same support.

okok i respect thatttt. There are alot of BIG Tightends in this draft ozzie can steal... No doubt Ozie will draft one. Ok maybe ozzie will get That monster from Penn state in the draft for a TE. Jesse James.. get our gronk uk???? But after a CB or safety thats how deep TE is

    4. raven22nation

      raven22nation

Build up some weapons for Joe Cool baby.. My boy Trestman would love itttt too.

  17. Could Ozzie do a repeat of his 2012 cut frenzy with this cap situation?

    1. pechillo

      pechillo

I don't think he will mainly because we're just a few tweaks away from winning another super bowl. But we will be major tweaks away if we don't resign players like Torrey, Forsett, Daniels, and Hill

  18. Could the Ravens bring back Cary Williams? They would have Webb, Smith, and Cary. But Ravens asked Webb to take pay cut, and now he's on the hot seat money wise.

      ravensdfan

They made him a more than fair offer prior to the season. He turned it down and bet on himself. He talked about "maybe his last game as a Raven" which says he wants more money than he was offered. The Ravens are not going to up their offer based on his performance in 2014. And they shouldn't because he is a one trick pony.

    3. pechillo

John Harbaugh lost this game peeps...1st quarter...going for it on 4th and 1 with Schaub at QB? What was he thinking. Just when you think it can't possibly get any worse!

  20. Devante Davis. Thoughts on grabbing him in the 4th-5th?

  21. did you guys miss me?!

  22. does Haloti know he's not the best DT/DE in league anymore? Take the pay cut and be a team player if you want to win a Super Bowl sheesh

They are not pay cuts. They are restructuring the money. It usually means a higher base salary and it is then spreading out the remaining to be more cap friendly.

    3. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

There's a difference between an extension and a restructuring. You can't restructure a contract that only has one year remaining without taking a paycut. Its impossible.

An extension was ALWAYS the goal of the Ngata talks. Never had anything to do with restructuring anything.

    4. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

An extension is still not a paycut. Ngata is on the tail end of his career. An extension would have made him a Raven for life and taken that $16M cap hit and spread it out. That is all. Not a paycut.

  23. don't get me wrong love how we go defensive in the draft cuz i play on defense and very prideful about it, but when it comes to the team, we really gotta focus on giving Joe weapons. CB and Pass rusher is not a need. Thats not me saying we'll draft a day 2 prospect in the first round, but that trading back could make more sense for our needs.

Suggs and Doom are not spring chickens any more and are in their 30's but I don't doubt that they will be able to be solid pass rushers again. Upshaw also will be a free agent next year in 2016 and it's not even clear if The Ravens will be able to re-sign him so yeah that's makes it even more important to get a replacement now than later. Smith and Webb can be one of the best cornerback duo in the league but both are injury prone especially Webb. Asa Jackson seems to be hi...

    3. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

Suggs & Doom might not be spring chickens but Smith Sr is even less of one and outside of him we have a receiving corps that has proven little. So I'd say weighing it out, WR/TE are much much bigger needs.

    4. jazz1988

      jazz1988

True. I think it depends on who's available honestly. The Ravens should stick to their board and not get desperate cause they need help at receiver position. I'm pretty sure they will address the receiver position in the first three rounds but I definitely will not be surprised if their first pick in the draft is a defensive player especially since I think most of the top receivers will be gone by the time they pick.

  24. dont understand why the Ravens are paying Mallet more than the veterans minimum, absolutely ridiculous, he's mediocre at best and a cry baby, he's not a Raven.

    4. pechillo

      pechillo

sure he could be a good backup but brynn renner looked good enough to be a back up in the preseason and he's on a rookie contract!

  25. favorite pick was Za'Darius Smith had him in a lot of my mock drafts, if he could get that motor that Suggs has. He could be unstoppable.
