Ravens met with only 4 DB's. PJ Williams, Marcus Peters, Kevin Johnson, Quandre Diggs. Lets see who they narrow down their interests with Private interviews.
You keep talking about prospects that are not likely to be the best player available at either the first or second round pick, so expecting one of them to be the pick is very unrealistic. I don't know why you keep trying to force a CB in the first round, because based on the talent pool it's very unlikely.
I suggest you do yourself a favor and actually look at years' past in terms of who we interviewed and who we ended up drafting - the lists were very different. A little effort and you'd know this.
I think you're the one missing the point. You actually act like you're Ozzie and you're really not. Harbaugh even said that Cornerback is a position they will address. we are one cornerback and one wr away from winning the super bowl. Things change when you're that close. Ozzie will obviously go BPA. Most likely the top corners will be gone by 26. So he'll most likely trade back. But when you're one corner away from winning the super bowl. You will get a cornerback to...
Tomorrow we will see who the Ravens will meet with DB wise. Who do you want them to meet with? Keep in mind. Out of all the meetings they have, they tend to only draft about 2 of them in high rounds. I think DB is definitely an area they will draft high this year. Keep an eye out on who they visit with.
Ravens met with Melvin Gordon and Duke Johnson. One of them will be a Raven for sure. I'm thinking Duke. He has the most potential and upside, thoughts?
Gordon is Overrated I like Abdullah from Nebraska and Duke Johnson
Ya know i really don't think he's overrated i think he has a lot of talent more talent than trent richardson and he went #3 overall. I think he's on par with Leveon Bell, but better because of how explosive he is. Bell might be quicker but Gordon is more explosive.
Gordon isn't the receiving threat that Bell is and he had an amazing offensive line in college. Very violent, tough runner who has good open field moves and a nasty spin move, but possibly overrated.
I don't get how Torrey or Forsett have been resigned yet
money...
Simple... they probably want more than they are worth... particularly Forsett.
Forsett can't be re-signed until FA begins due to him signing a veteran minimum contract with the Ravens last season.
Ravens met with Lae'l Collins today...? anyone else really surprised there?
long term left tackle?
@CalvinSmoke i think we already have our long term tackles. Monroe is a top tackle in the league and Wagner was rated the best RT in the league last year. Don't see why we would think about interviewing a high caliber OT if anything it might be to talk about his teammate Jalen Collins
We've been known to talk to guys to try and misdirect other teams about who we're interested in. I wouldn't read too much into it one way or the other.
I see Ravens grabbing veteran Safety starting March 10. Rookie can't transition that quickly to the pros.
Wow, really @juanman7 ... thats a shocker, didn't think that was possible.
@juanman7 no way they will get McCourty, way too much money. You gotta remember that the Ravens are a defensive team, and will be for years to come, they will not draft 4 offensive players in the first four, thats just not going to happen, they will definitely draft a CB in the first 3 to replace Webb because his body is just breaking down slowly. He can't stay healthy.
@pechillo, having thought about it, I agree they won't spend big money to sign McCourty because there's always the risk that he won't play up to that contract that another team will definitely give him. However, I do think we could go heavy on offense this year, because like I said and people agree with this, this team cannot rely on rookies in the secondary. This is a weak safety class on top of this. So though they might get a cornerback in the first 3 rounds, I think every othe...
who would you take? Q. Rollins or J. Shaw? One should be a raven. Rollins has more upside than Shaw i think. But Shaw is a great press man.
Nate Orchard, Duke Johnson, Josh Shaw. First 3 picks.
why do you think Suggs was drafted? He broke the NCAA single season sack record and led the nation in sacks. He was drafted 22 overall. Orchard led the nation in sacks and is more of a solidified run stopper than sizzle was in college. All I'm saying is he's a late first round talent. The combine will show it, and if he hits 25 reps or more on the bench. He's the real deal. along with his 40 time.
suggs was drafted 10th overall and he was projected to go much earlier than that before his 40 time turned some teams off.
sizzle was probably the best DE in college football and the best pro prospect at DE all combined that year, he was a slam dunk pick, but some of those early teams probably wanted more "flash" from a top 10 pick(meaning a faster 40 time)
Ravens will go Defense first round.
I could argue we aren't the champs this year because we lack a big, physical WR.
^^ definitely, but most importantly, because we dont have those guys who are always gonna catch the ball, if daniels doesnt drop that perfectly placed ball, were probably celebrating at least an afc championship title
@JoeyFlex5 i think he'll get best player available and i think the most underrated player in this draft is Nate Orchard. After his combine he should be a late first rounder. And Ravens love pass rushers especially ones that have led the nation in sacks **T Sizzle** I really think we already have a good WR group. Torrey is our deep threat, Steve Smith is strong and physical, Marlon Brown can go up and snag balls, Owen Daniels and Dennis Pitta have great chemistry with Joe. I like our WR's
Ozzie will never get a RB in the first round.
RB's will rarely go in the first round since Goodell has made the NFL a passing league
I'd argue it's more about teams realising the running game is 80% OL, 20% RB and investing more in the guys around their backs.
Gordon will be gone If Gurley is there it would be Stupid to pass him up
