Sadly, the majority of football fans don't think Joe is half as good as some of us Ravens homers do. But, I think a good number of former blind Flacco homers are slowly coming around to the idea that Flacco may not be an elite or even a top 7-8 QB after all.
That is the truth!

Now its a complete waste of time. We should not have giveb him the money and simply have him test the market.
His wallet and his $ is getting bigger but he is taking the team the wrong way.
I wish this forum was less one-sided and had more fans that cared about the actual team as a WHOLE. But nope.
Too much bangwagon fans that jumped shiped and they dictated this failure campaign to make Ravens a losing organization.
I've learned a long time ago that you can't judge the ENTIRE Ravens fan base off a few cats in here. ![]()

You don't build SB champions with a team full of short term fixes. You have a blend of short term players with a primary core of young, productive players and players in their prime performing at a high level. Basically, the 2011-2012 Ravens. Its not like anybody thinks that Ray and Ed were the best players or the most productive players on those teams.
The leadership thing is a bit overrated, especially on defense. You've got Suggs and Weddle, who are as big a leaders as you can find in this league. I agree that offensively we don't have an identity, but that's not from a lack of leadership. Fans only see what the cameras show them, which weakens the argument.
Ain't that the truth? ![]()

Over the first 3 years of the original contract, Flacco's cap hit was really team friendly. Since signing Flacco to the original contract, the team signed, Pitta, Jimmy, Monroe, Yanda, Tucker, Koch and Weddle to big deals. That doesn't include locking up guys like Zuttah, Wright, SSS, Forsett and Watson to deals that weren't big but the team thought these players would contribute a lot. They also made competitive offers to Torrey and KO.
Flacco's contract hasn't hurt the team, that's just the perception going around. What has hurt the Ravens is these long term commitments and young draft picks not playing well over the last 3-4 years. The Ravens have been among the top of the league in dead money over the last 3-4 years because of poor contracts. Injuries have hurt as well.
Flacco certainly has to play better and play up to his contract, but he hasn't stopped the team from signing anyone. Boldin was traded because the Ravens didn't think he could perform as well moving forward. Torrey wasn't a guy the Ravens would pay 10Mil for, especially since they have so much success getting close to over the hill WRs who can perform just as well as Torrey and no way they were paying KO LT money without being 100% sure he was the answer there which no one could honestly say.
Seeing Flacco struggle on a huge contract sucks, but the reality is, the Ravens don't commit big money to outside players often and the guys they wanted to keep here they have. Flacco has to play better, but the Ravens were banking on guys like Perriman, Maxx, Brooks, Elam, Davis, Smith, Timmy, Taliafero, Buck and others to really step their games up and be the new era of players to keep the team performing well and that just hasn't happened.
Very well said my man!
As things stand today, Baltimore’s $15.3 million is the NFL’s fifth-least amount of cap space, according to Spotrac.com. Hensley says the Ravens could create an additional $20.3 million by releasing six veterans.
“The Ravens would need to cut linebacker Elvis Dumervil
($6 million in savings), safety Lardarius Webb
($5.5 million), cornerback Shareece Wright
($2.6 million), center Jeremy Zuttah
($2.3 million), cornerback Kyle Arrington
($2.1 million) and safety Kendrick Lewis
($1.8 million),” Hensley wrote.
See ya! I wish them all well in their future endeavors.
Ray seems to be in such high demand outside of the realm of coaching that to me; coaching would be a step or two down for him right now.
Blah, blah, blah! We hear the same old stuff every single offseason about being "creative" in the offense but to no avail at the beginning and throughout the season. Don't believe the hype! Wait to see!
In a recent interview with Andrea Kremer, when Edelman was asked the question; "So, when you actually get to be teammates (w/Brady), what were the key components that led to the chemistry that you and Brady developed?"
Edelman's response was very insightful as to the relationship between the QB and WR for their success. He stated the following;
"It was years of work! I started training with Tom, I moved to L.A. in my second year; just the hours that we actually do put in...in the offseason; that's to the point where we're running 70 routes, I'm puking by the end of the drill and we run a 2 minute drill. And what's so good about is that he's (Brady) not only testing me for my physical shape but he's (Brady) also testing my mental side of it as well. So, he'd (Brady) be calling out plays while I'm tired."
What I liked about the interview is that he credited their chemistry to their hrs of working together during the offseason. It shows!

They call it the luck of the Irish up there in Baa-ston. Lol!
That halftime show was weak.

On the 20, you call a pass and take a sack. Then after that, call another pass and get a holding call.
Call a pass and Freeman totally misses his block and allows a free rusher.
And all the damn defensive penalties. My goodness. Just give the Patriots free first downs. That's never a bad idea.
Who took the sack instead of throwing the ball away?
2 minutes ago, cobrajet said:I will say what Flacco did four years ago was incredible. He was 13 TDs and 0 Ints in the playoffs and won on the road at Denver against Peyton and New England against Brady. It is not a fair comparison to compare Flacco to Ryan. Ryan has had some of the best offensive weapons in the game. Flacco has been hampered by the likes of Cam Cameron and Marc Trestman. Ryan plays in a dome in a weak division. Flacco plays in elements in the AFC North. It is just not fair to compare their regular seasons to each other, because if Ryan was a Raven, I doubt he would have that stats he does as a Falcon. He may not have even brought us a Lombardi if he was a Raven. I wish people would stop with the Ryan is better than Flacco talk.
But the key words are.....four years ago.
Not bashing Flacco here at all but to keep bringing up what he did 4 years ago as a measuring stick for the present is ridiculous to me.

I did and I will go there. lol I don't give a damn about the other 31 teams, just the Ravens lol.

That excuse of not being in the league too long is stale, outdated and played out. It's been 20 years now! lol
The Ravens can only dream of putting together a dynasty like the Patriots. And, I absolutely LOVED the boo birds for Goodell. LOL!!
5 Super Bowls to our 2....Patriots fans are going to really be unbearable now. My goodness!

He won 3 Super Bowls as a Patriot....that's how JO!
Falcons = BUMS, BUMS, BUMS!!! Smh!!!
Tied? The freakin game is tied? These Falcons are BUMS....pure BUMS! SMH!!!

My stepson is a huge Tom Brady fan and me and my stepson are super tight, so I guess I have a soft spot for wanting him to be happy. I was really rooting for the Chiefs when we did not make it.
I want Matt Ryan to win it all! I like him as a QB.
Brady overthrowing. Lol!!
