I can't argue with you there I think I shifted my focus to next year last night I had to let it go before it ate me up 😂😂 but yes for the most part dare I say we have the pieces if we beef up some week spots a bit

I'm trying Ravens419.  I really am but that loss stings and is still hanging in my gut man!

That doesn't mean there wasn't good to come from it...

    I never said that.

  2. Weddle chose the Ravens despite plenty of other options on the open market. He drew interest from several teams after the San Diego Chargers cut him this offseason, including the Steelers and New England Patriots. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger even gave Weddle a recruiting pitch to try to get him to Pittsburgh.

But Weddle opted for the Ravens.

    So what?

Both the Steelers and the Patriots are in the playoffs while the Ravens...who once again....couldn't handle their own business is sitting on the coach like we fans.

    :sofa:

    Oh!  Thanks Weddle!!!! :D

Fair but I think we have a good D our offense has so me potential with maybe a KD breakout coming I think adding one could do wonders for us

Good D?  You mean that monstrosity that gave up 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter Sunday afternoon and that couldn't get a sack on Big Ben to save their lives? That's a good D?  If that's a good D, I'd hate to see what a horrible one looks like.

P.S. Yes!  I'm still pissed by Sunday's loss that shouldn't have happened...but it did. So my responses may be filled with venom towards our boys at the moment. I should be fine by this weekend! :D

We've been missing a playmaker for so long.  Our last one was probably Jacoby and that's kind of sad.  I think you see spurts of that potential from Perriman, but that's still a significant work in progress of course.  Otherwise, your next best playmaker at those 3 positions is Tavon Young.  I like Young, but that's not a good thing.

There's no one on this team that is a consistent threat to change a game on one play.  Those Ozzie "doubles" have started to catch up to us.  We're getting good players but how much is a NT like Brandon Williams really going to affect this team?  We really need to hit at a skill position.  I know Ozzie likes his BPA, but this draft should be dedicated to infusing young talent at the skill positions.

I'm not just going to go along with the crowd here.  I don't see spurts of potential.  I'm not saying that he can't or won't be "that" guy...but as of now....this season...he was just "a" guy.  Plain and simple.  Nothing spectacular to put in your mental files.

Team needs playmakers. Its that simple.

Typically those types of players come in the form of receivers, secondary players, and pass rushers, which are arguably are three weakest positions.

Pittsburgh beat us because they had more playmakers than we did. Its not because they were significantly better overall team.

We've known and said this all season long to be honest so it doesn't come as a surprise.  Getting those "playmakers" on this team and in the game has been the achilles heel for this team.

For all you who say Suggs is done and he seems like he plans to be here next year how do you bench him he is the emotional leader of this team I'd just like to know if you really find it realistic he isn't starting next year

How many sacks on Big Ben did his "emotions" have last night?

I'm sick of losing games that we shouldn't lose, I'm sick of our defense folding when the game is on the line, I'm super sick of this PATHETIC patchwork secondary that we keep putting on display year after year, I'm sick of players in our secondary not playing their true position, I'm sick of our team being out coached week after week, I'm sick of the lame excuses after every loss, I'm sick of people/players being politically correct and not speaking the truth, I'm sick of dump down passes, I'm sick of terrible play calling in crucial moments of games!!!!!!!! Make some changes, this has gotten to be the same movie week after week and it's boring. Baltimore Ravens football should be a much better product than what has been displayed the last few years!!!!!

I agree with the last bolded statement and I'm still pissed too!

Let the being "sick of" it flow brah!

  8. The reality is this....

For all of the...Ravens "dominate" the Steelers talk because they beat them the last 4xs and that they are 4-0 against division opponents this season....and...that they destroyed the Dolphins 38-6...in all of that....the Dolphins are in the playoffs!  And the Steelers actually won the right game at the right time and because of it the Ravens are OUT!!  Smh!

    Yeah!  I'm still pissed!!! ;-(

I have nothing but respect for the Ravens. They have had the best of the Steelers over the last several years. They laid two losses on us last year without as strong of a team. They almost swept us again. If AB doesn't reach that ball over the line, this whole conversation is different. I do have to say this, Bell and Brown are big playmakers. But on that last drive, Jesse James, Eli Rogers, Ayers and Hamilton all caught balls. If Tom Brady did that, the commentators would be raving on and on about how he leads his team down the field with nobodies. Bad Ben came out early, but Ben was pretty darn awesome in the 4th Quarter.

That was due to the lack of "playmakers" in the pass rush...which was none existent.  Keep it real brah! ;-(

@Militant X 1 i honestly think if we could have kept KO we win another 2 games at least.  Said for years OL should always be a teams priority.

That's possible Red however, we both know that the Ravens have this annoying habit of letting good players walk.

Well then me and you are on the same page, I really like Stanley, Young and Dixon so far, trying to focus on the positives.

I like Stanley, Young and Dixon as well.  West is impressive but imo Dixon is the "main" horse we should hitch our wagon to in the run game.  Dixon and Juice? Oh my goodness!  That's pure hell in the backfield!

One of the things that really pissed me off about the Ravens going down the stretch is their inability to produce a solid and consistent pass rush in multiple games now and it all came to a head last night.  Suggs and Doom are done in my book...done!  Got to find the younger, faster, stronger and hungrier lions for the pass rush.

Man I feel like someone close to me just died, lol

We all figured we were looking to next year after October, let's get better, the real run happens next year. Pending a miracle we weren't going to win the SB, obviously it was preferred to go, it's always preferred, but it is what it is. We know the mistakes and we have the checklist of needs, gear up for a long off season.

I've said this all season and will say it again OU...."This Ravens team is not as good as we think they are or as we'd like for them to be!"  Their performance last night is proof positive of that.  Seems like Clifton Brown agrees with me...

In the end, watching the Steelers’ dangerous targets reminded several media members that the Ravens simply don’t have the playmakers to keep up. And, the search for said playmakers will continue this offseason.

“The Ravens wish they had that array of playmakers, but they don’t,” wrote CSNMidAtlantic.com’s Clifton Brown. “And unless the Ravens find a way to become a more explosive team offensively, the Steelers could continue to be the team to beat in the AFC North for the next several years.

I expect to see some major roster changes.

Ed Reed & Ray weren't coaching up the offense so their leadership isn't missed on that end IMO. And 3 of those years Joe spent over half on the sidelines so kind of have to throw that one out. He was horrible the beginning of this season, but he was recovering from a serious injury and in watching him I truly believe that played with his mentality. He looked like he was seeing phantoms out there, but he improved later in the season. I also think playing with a leg brace all year had some effect as well. But having any discussion at this time, for this year, for this game that involves some lack in Flacco is absurd. This loss is a pure defensive collapse period, 21 pts in the 4th quarter, one with just over a minute to play and your offense just gave you the lead - again. Flacco came through in the clutch - this defense & Pees failed - again.

    You've missed the point entirely.

Tell your friends Joe Flacco put his team in a position to win the game with 78 seconds left in a road game against a good defensive team in a hostile environment and in a game we had to win to remain alive in the playoff hunt. We lost because ........ our defense could not protect a 10 point lead going into the final quarter and surrendered 3 TDs. We spotted the Steelers 7, our offense posted 27 points and left another 11 points on the field and our highly vaunted defense folded when it counted. It speaks volumes that The Baltimore Ravens sent 4 players to the Pro Bowl but only 1 was a defensive player - C.J.. No, its time the Wizard of Oz follows the yellow brick road out of town and takes some of the coaches with him. If its true that the players of today are bigger, stronger and faster than the players of yesteryear as some of our fans insist, then we should start drafting some of these speedy behemoths. I agree with your rationale but I do not agree with your friends' assessment of Joe's performance as a starting QB. He rose to the occasion like I hoped he would and did a phenomenal job. I only wish he could snap on FGs and catch his own throws in the end zone.

I don't have to tell my friends anything.  They are watching these games just like us Frozen.  And as of now, their assessment is right cause the Ravens have missed the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years.  I get that you feel a need and want to "defend" Joe Flacco here but that is really not necessary or the point of the post. I already said that this loss wasn't on Joe. My friends statements of Flacco's inability to lead the Ravens to the playoffs was in connection with the departures and absence of both Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and their type of leadership that they provided for the Ravens franchise over the years and not solely about his skill set.
