  1. The Justin Kicker thing killed me.
  2. That about says it all! Meanwhile, I hope we get another SB ring for Webby, who took a pay cut to stay a Raven this year.
  3. With his daughter just being born on Tuesday, maybe his head will be a little clearer now. Although those sleepless nights are coming.
  4. Sadly, they almost always chase the money. And then, for a lot of them, it's gone within five years after they stop playing.
  5. It's kind of weird to me that these practice reports are posted on Thursdays, when there has only been one day of practice.
  6. I think we'll know a lot more about this team's potential after the Oakland game. Still, I'd rather be the worst 16-0 team in the league than the best 0-16 team. ;)
  7. Absolutely true, but Forsett is being chased down by big defensive lineman. It's one thing to not get open; it's another to get open and then have a guy who outweighs you by fifty pounds run you down.
  8. It is, indeed. But I think it's because people generally hate the Ravens. We stole Cleveland's team, then we had that killer Ray Lewis, then we had that junkie Jamal Lewis, then we had that wife beater Ray Rice. When I've been in other parts of the country, I can't count the number of times I've heard one of those complaints.
  9. This seems to be another one of those years in which all anyone talks about is all the improvements we made on offense, and yet the defense is outperforming and outranking the offense all over the place. Weird.
  10. Quoted: "The run woes can’t all be blamed on the running backs, as the offensive line must get push and open up holes too." That may be true, but there were at least two times on Sunday when Forsett had the ball in open territory and he got chased down by a defensive lineman. That just shouldn't happen. Once you do get a hole and take off, those bigger guys should have a hard time catching you.
  11. Has anyone noticed that Flacco is on track for 4128 passing yards?
  12. The big thing to celebrate is the fact that last year, we would have lost all three of these games, but this year -- we didn't! Last year we just didn't have that little extra something to get us over the hurdles, and we lost so many games by one score on a late penalty or stupid mistake. But this year, we are finishing. We are not letting a late-game deficit immobilize us. Next week we'll face the 2-1 Raiders. Maybe a win there will pull us up in the power rankings.
  13. Pretty good, all things considered. Let's see if a flock of Ravens can't tame a pack of Jaguars.
  14. About Billick's comments. I think for a lot of fans, they wish they could be out there playing or coaching. There's some vicarious living going on every Sunday, and that, no doubt, results in a lot of backseat coaching. It is only natural for fans to say, "I would have done this..." and hindsight is 20/20. But the sad reality is that for every fan whining over what should or shouldn't have been done in a game, there is a coach who is facing losing his job, maybe even his career.
  15. Honestly, I'm less concerned about having Doom ready for Jacksonville than I am for Oakland. I'd say, if he's not 100%, don't rush it.
  16. Everyone knew Weddle was a great pick-up, and we hoped Wallace would be. We need to get Perriman deep more often, and I'm really hoping Dixon get back soon, because Forsett just hasn't looked good this year. He runs slow, and is not making the quick cuts.
  17. From the comments here, I guess many of you think that if the Ravens look bad in the first half of every game, but manage to eek out a win and go 16-0, then they should recuse themselves from the postseason because the 16 wins weren't pretty.
  18. It's the Tom Brady mentality.
  19. I have to agree with you. It's a game where large men grab, push, and throw each other to the ground. But I guess it's not nice to to tease.
  20. Well, I'll go ahead and say it: right now we are a 16-0 team! ;)
  21. Sounds like they handled things in a mature way. Good for them.
  22. Apparently you are unaware of how well the Browns, and Chris McCown in particular, have played against us. Rarely have our wins against Cleveland been blow-outs. Yes, we've beaten the Browns 25 out of 34 times, but it has usually been a trial. Our total net point average (in wins and losses) is 7.7 points. Our net points in victories only is 12.5. Although it was a rough start and obvious improvements are needed, both the players and the coaches were able to assess the problems, make corrections, keep their cool, and win the game. There is nothing to be embarrassed about.
