  1. For those of you pulling for the Steelers, please keep these things in mind: Deflategate did not impact us directly. If we play New England at all this year, it will be once in the playoffs. We may play Pittsburgh three times! Our best shot at securing more home playoff games is to win our division, which means Pittsburgh needs to lose more games than we do. Lets please hope for a lousy game in which both teams look bad, but Pittsburgh does something a little worse at the end and loses. Thank you for this PSA opportunity.
  2. That headline got a Marvin Gaye song going in my head.
  3. Does the depth chart automatically indicate who is starting week one, or is that a long-term depth-chart with starters potentially varying week-to-week based on the playbook?
  4. I think that there is a real advantage to opening the season with an away game against a tough team like Denver. The expectation is sort of that we will lose. We're five point underdogs. So if we lose, it is not demoralizing. But if we win! If we win, that gives us tremendous confidence and energy going into the next several away games.
  5. I hope Ryan Clark is right, but I still see that four of the eight power rankings put the Steelers ahead of the Ravens. That's good. It will keep us motivated.
  6. Just to see how silly this whole prediction things is -- the Ravens are the "trendy" pick for the Superbowl, but five point underdogs to Denver in the opener. Whatever.
  7. That was my thought. Not a smile to be seen.
  8. I think you're right, but I hope you're wrong!
  9. I would be hands-down psyched for this season if it weren't for all the @#$#@ injuries! What kind of shape will these guys be in? Who else is going to go down? One thing I saw in pre-season is that we don't have much depth, especially on defense. We need healthy starters to carry these games, especially against the likes of Denver!
  10. For those of you reading who don't believe in miracles, you saw one Saturday night when Aiken stood up and walked around after that hit.
  11. Getting ready for another year of Raven-bashing by the NATIONAL MEDIA!
  12. Flacco -- wins games, goes to the playoffs, won a Superbowl, never misses a snap. What else matters?
  13. I met him at a Children's Cancer Foundation fundraiser. Class act. Unbelievable tragedy.
  14. "What are we going to do?! We lost Sharpe!" Then along comes Heap. "What are we going to do?! We lost Heap!" Then along comes Pitta. "What are we going to do?! We lost Pitta!" Then along come Daniels. "What are we going to do?! We lost Daniels!" Then along comes.... Relax, worriers!
  15. Harbaugh has a lot of sense. I wish he *would* run for president ... after he retires from the Ravens.
  16. TONIGHT! Aaagggh, I still have to get through the work day!
  17. Not to mention that Flacco is not Geno Smith and isn't the oft-teased QB of a completely mismanaged franchise. It is obvious that the guy, stupid, reckless and clueless as he is, had no respect for Smith whatsoever. Still, he ruined his own career and will always look back on this as the dumbest thing he ever did. BTW, I love Steve Smith's spunk, but I always have to laugh at his blood and guts comments. He's a receiver, for crying out loud.
  18. Does anybody here NOT want Steve Smith to go out with a Superbowl win?
  19. Loved his answers to #3, #6, #15 and #19. Good stuff!
  20. The Redskin fans that I know are so die-hard loyal! Every year they say, "This is our year." And every year, by week six, they're saying, "Next year's our year!" I feel bad for them; but considering how many of them are former Colts fans who jumped ship in the 80s, I don't feel too bad for them. Still, a Ravens/Redskins Superbowl would be a lot of fun, especially before PC Police make them change their name.
  21. Looking forward to August 13 to see this crew in action!
  22. I am a perfectionist and avid reader. I used to really get on my high horse when I saw grammatical and punctuational errors in written material. Even some of the best authors do it. But as the Age of the Internet has progressed, I've come to realize that most people just don't care. They want to communicate a thought, and the delivery medium is a means to an end. Or, maybe the guy is just dyslexic. In any case, asking someone to proof your material takes patience, and in this age of convenience stores and fast food, patience is indeed a virtue. I guess I'm back on my high horse.
  23. How serious is Marlon's injury? First I've heard of it....
