  1. We are always one big play away from a different outcome. 1-6 with a net points of -27. Crazy. The 49ers are 2-5 with a -77!
  2. That article just about sums it up. We are always just enough in the game to make it interesting, but enough to pull it out. It's starting to look like the win against Pittsburgh was a fluke.
  3. " 'There's no better stage to play your best than Monday Night Football ,' Head Coach John Harbaugh said." I would say against Cleveland at home would have been a good place.
  4. What one thing would I change about the Ravens? Their record. Flip it over to 5-1.
  5. Maybe SSS would want to play corner? I am so sick of this London thing. That just needs to stop.
  6. And he darn well ought to be in the HoF for it! Don't get me started....
  7. I don't know. Man, you read stats like Flacco set to have his highest passing season ever, SSS having a banner year, Forsett still running at a high percentage per carry, and now we see that other teams have the same injury issues that we have. Makes you wonder what is going on.
  8. We thought Perriman was going to be our playmaker. And Maxx Williams. It's not like they aren't trying to draft playmakers. But the staff isn't omniscient.
  9. "It's not entirely in my hands how the team feels about me playing and if I can potentially add any value to this team," Pitta said. Yeah, well, you can't make it any worse!
  10. What I read from this is -- Trestman screwed up, and Harbaugh is taking the hit for it (publicly). Privately, I hope he is riding Trestman so that this doesn't happen again.
  11. If Pitta could come back this season, and if he somehow were able to rally the team to start winning games, and if we were to get to the Superbowl, then this would be a come back story to match Ray Lewis' from two years ago. One can dream, can't he?
  12. Some teams make the decision to sacrifice defense in order to build a superior offense. Others, like the traditional Ravens, built a superior defense at the cost of offense. And some try to have a good offense and defense, but neither is off the charts. I think the Ravens this year were looking to be the third kind of team-good offense and good defense. But on the offense, Perriman didn't work out, Pitta isn't ready to play, and now Smith Sr is dinged up. On defense, we lost Suggs and Webb, and our secondary never really got to where it needs to be. So instead of good O/good D, we have become mediocre O/mediocre D. And mediocre teams won't win very many games.
  13. I hate to be so negative, but I am seeing next year as a disaster. We have to rebuild with younger players that don't command such high salaries. But they need experience, and experience comes with time. We have to hope Suggs can come back, because he is killing our cap. Webb, too. Trading or cutting them won't solve any problems. We need them to play!
  14. Sorry, but I'm believing Gannon.
  15. Watching Torrey make that catch is like watching your ex-spouse hit the lottery for $2,000,000.
  16. I can't get past #9 (above). Despite all their talk, this team has given up. Nobody cared whether they got a play off or not. It was like they thought, "We can't win, so why bother?" Very, very disappointing.
  17. Welcome to the real world, I guess. If ESPN says that a team is out of it, and then TV ratings for their game nose dive, guess what network is going to be calling ESPN with a complaint? Maybe even a lawsuit. No, they need to generate interest in games by making sure everyone knows "there's a chance!"
  18. Translate this into other professions: Nuclear Regulatory Commission: "Why did the power plant melt down?" Employee: "Well, it was Friday, and things were going well, so everyone just took a nap." Sheesh.
  19. Confidence is good, but overconfidence is not. I hope there are some players who have realized they need to study more, practice harder, and play better.
  20. At least once a week I have to answer my wife's, "Hey, who's that guy?" Line-up is a revolving door this year.
  21. So Givens is hurt already, huh?
  22. We blitzed McCown quite a bit, but he kept managing to complete passes down the filed because our corners either can't handle man coverage, or someone was out of position in the zone.
  23. That's always the question, right? No one wants to bail on a season and say "Let's get draft picks," but if we don't, then where do we end up next year? Or the year after that? In a salary-capped league, it seems virtually impossible to stay really good for very long. Unless you cheat like the Patriots.
  24. Ah, what the heck. Why not. We've got nothing to lose at this point. Babin was a huge disappointment.
